First thing I noticed, it was lacking in bass. To be more specific, the bass has a hollow sound to it, when listening hard rock and rap. It doesn’t thump at all, especially when comparing to previous Bose speakers. I’m also disappointed in the overall volume, was expecting it to be a tad bit louder. Also dumb that you can’t turn it off with the same button used to turn it on (have to use app or wait for it to go to sleep when not playing something) Should have spent another $75-$100 and got Bose

The quality of the sound is amazing. The product shelf life is terrible. Either you get 2-4 hours playtime at medium to high volume. Then overtime it loses its battery life. Went through 3 of these already. DO BUY THE WARRANTY.

These speakers tend to be on the Heavy-Bass side. Kind of hard to find that sweet spot, especially when listening to music with lots of different instruments.

The sound is the only good thing about this unit. No USB-C port in 2023. This thing still runs on Micro-USB, and takes forever to charge. The battery life is a scam. 20 hours? I only got 2 at moderate volume (<50%). I used to love Ultimate Ears, but this is just a joke.

Every single time I connect to both speakers the first 2 to 3 minutes is constant interruption in the Bluetooth connection. It feels like it hesitates to connect and then it speeds up to catch up to where the song is. I've had this issue not just with one but two of the speakers…UE need to get on their technology. This is ridiculous for the price. 

Bought this speaker because it was on sale and had good reviews. The reviews don't tell you is that it might just stop charging and you will have to reset it with buttons to get to charge again?! It did this right away for me, so frustrating because ultimate ears website gave NO indication this might happen or how to fix it. Also, you have to learn button code to get battery information and why would anyone need a app for a regular bluetooth speaker? You will also want to make sure you only have flat surfaces around you this thing HAS to be vertical or your music will literally roll away. I am returning and going back to JBL charge. Much better speaker.

I had bought 2 of these speaker, they had great sound, especially when paired together. Unfortunately, I assumed that these speakers were waterproof, at least that is how they are advertised. They were left out in the rain one evening, and, to my surprise both speakers were damaged and did not work. I attempted to contact the manufacturer via email and, basically, was told that they would not replace the speakers due to being out of warranty. What?? warranty?? No, a manufacturer defect. Without going into too much detail, bottom line is they refused to help me resolve the situation. I am now stuck with two very expensive speakers that are dead. These speakers are advertised as waterproof and they are not. Buyer Beware!!

Bought this because it was recommended over the Sony SRS XB43. Big mistake. Although it can be loud, it lacks bass and midrange clarity. After trying to make it sound better using the app, it still sounds like everything is coming from inside a box. By the way, the equalizer feature in the smartphone app is garbage. Like most cheap audio electronics these that offer an equalizer, there are no actual filtering electronics in the device. It's all done through DSP algorithms and the algorithms in this speaker are terrible. To boost a desired frequency band, it reduces the other frequency bands around the range you want boosted. The purpose is to make the desired band stand out more but the effect is terrible. I returned this and bought the Sony SRS XB43 like I should have done to begin with. A much better speaker with tremendous sound quality. Spend the money, you won't regret it.

we love this brand, but the one that i purchased for my boyfriend was faulty as the battery didnt hold a charge. He was able to exchange it for another one.

Sounds really good at Best Buy. However, manufacturer doesn't have an Android app available you adjust equalizer. Error message "This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android" in Google Play. Doesn't sound as good with default settings. Returned it.

I bought this product with great anticipation, but was so disappointed! The speaker quality is good, but that is meaningful only if the battery can hold its charge. Battery life was absolutely terrible - from the start. A few months down the road - the battery does not charge any more. So I have basically a dead brick. UE customer service was extremely unhelpful. Strongly suggest to look elsewhere for a quality speaker.

Not as loud as I thought it would be and I wasn't impressed with the range

The sound quality is ok but nothing compared to the previous generation (ultima ears blast, was louder and stronger bass by far). This model sounds like the previous generation baby brother, (smaller in size) and definitely can not compete against the JBL speaker

This speaker has only a little bass and it sounds like a pair of little speakers are in there. Stereo sound is cool. But its not worth it because it is outdated. It came out in 2018. Bass sounds punchy and hollow.

I received this for a Christmas gift, and I was so incredibly disappointed. A family member had a previous version Megaboom speaker and thought this one would be just as good if not better. They were wrong. I was expecting rich sound, good bass (um, Megaboom?), and generally high quality audio. This underperformed at every level. It sounded worse than a $20 no-name bluetooth speaker I bought from Amazon that is half the size. I returned this and am now looking at Bose and JBL. Please do not buy this speaker for yourself or anyone you know. It will let you down and cost you another trip to Best Buy to return it.

MEGABOOM 3 charge does NOT last 20 Hrs. After 5 hours of play, I decided to charge it again so I can get a full battery for my next use. The speaker system's audio message said that the charge was at 100%. I thought how odd, but okay. Tried to use the speaker the next morning, and battery charge was critical and speaker couldn't even connect to my phone because the battery was too low. I wish I read all of the reviews about this problem before purchasing this item.

i bought this speaker 30 months ago. last week i dropped the speaker in my hot tub for 5 seconds and my speaker shorted out. I contacted UE and all they offered me was 20% off a new one. my speaker is 9 months out of waranty i get it, but this product doesnt perform at all as advertised. Very disappointed. I have 50$ speakers that are generic brand that still work and are still waterproof. this product is not waterproof and the company does not stand behind the quality of their product. Buyer beware!!!!

Good party blaster. Classical music fail. Middle voices washed away by kludgy bass.

Probably one of the worst speakers I’ve owned. Everyday there’s something wrong with it. Whether it’s the speaker saying “low charge” every 30 seconds even though it’s been charging all day or the fact that it just doesn’t want to turn on sometimes. Tried contacting the company but they just told me troubleshooting ideas that were no help whatsoever. If you want a good speaker for $200 go to JBL, Ultimate Ears is terrible!

So, the physical design of this product is good. However, the sound quality is pretty poor. It sounded tinny, lifeless and lacked any sort of robustness to the sound that it was producing. Even with downloading their application and messing with the EQ to add more bass. Compared to my ancient Sony SRS-X5S (2014 Era) it just paled. Took less than a minute of a side by side comparison to decide to bring this unit back.
