Not loud enough, I was expecting a louder richer sound but I was not impressed. I returned it looking for better.

I have had several of the UE speakers and this one is just as good as the others.

These sound phenomenal. I was an early adopter of the UE Megaboom speakers back when the originals were released. I've probably even contributed to several sales of these because I'd take them everywhere, pair them up, then people would ask about them because they were so impressed by them. Over time, my original pair started giving me issues with stereo connectivity, which I assumed was due to their age. I sold them and bought these shiny new speakers. I updated them immediately to the newest firmware, check. I paired them up using the app, check. They worked for about one song before the very same issue arrived as the old speakers. It's as if they start fighting with one another, or the way a CD used to skip if you shook your walkman. Incredibly frustrating. I can no longer stand behind this product, which is sad for me having spent so long loving them. Bose might have my business now ( at least to try it out).

With the large array of speakers out there this one is a top contender. For it size it should be better capable of louder bass.

Love the UE megaboom. I own three of these speakers and they are the best out there.

The speaker is great quality and has great audio but isn’t usb type-c and lacked the bass that it is advertised to have.

The speaker sounds pretty good, but at higher volume I do hear some distortion. To start off with there are a number of apps for these speakers and it took 3 tries to get the right one. First I dl'd one for the boom. It fired up and said get the newer one. I installed that but apparently I can't read on a second attempt and got one for the megablast. Finally the 3rd try got me the correct app. It's currently the one with blue lettering and a white background 9/15/18. The blast has the opposite and the old boom was a round logo. I fired up the correct app which told me to uninstall the old boom app to continue. Ok, just another task to do in order to get up and running...right? Nope. Please update to the latest firmware was the next order of business. So okay here we go.....95% and then stall and I do mean stall. It took forever to finish. Once it did, I was able to access the equalizer and remote controls. During this time the speaker worked by connecting to my Pixel's bluetooth. My Android is updated to the latest version 9 Pie. I fired up Amazon Music and listened to the classic rock station for about 5 songs and then a number of songs via the album selections. My main complaint is that treble hiss which I tried to tone down or out with the eq, but it didn't make much difference. The bass is decent for the size of the unit, but honestly I think the Sony SRS-XB41 sounds better. One thing I really like is the Magic Button. I used it to advance tracks, pause and play and it worked every time. Lastly, I like the fact that you can purchase a recharging base for the unit. I wish it was included with the speaker, but it's understandable that keeping costs down are needed to keep it competitive in this category. Hopefully a patch may be offered down the road to help remedy the distortion or hiss. It may have been my source (Amazon) so your mileage may vary. I'll be trying other sources and hope that it fixes the issue for my ears. Overall I really like the unit. The large volume buttons on the front work great and by pressing them both the unit tells you how much battery life is left. Once I get the charging base, that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I bought a pair of these to have "stereo" sound in my backyard. Although the sound is loud enough, the music cuts out for a second every now and then which makes listening to music difficult. I tried to listen to music with the Ultimate Ears iOS app, listening without the app (just using my apple music app), and also tried listening to just 1 speaker at a time. No matter what, the music cuts out every once in a while, which is enough to make it unlistenable. This is all after I updated to the latest firmware. Also the pairing of more than 1 speaker on the app is very glitchy. The Ultimate Ears app is no good either - you can only add 4 playlists to listen to for the just a few music apps - spotify and tidal are not supported yet. I am very disappointed in this product considering how many good reviews there were on multiple websites.

Pros: Loud 360* sound Charging brick/fast charge Water resistant/proof Cons: Not enough Bass This is a great speaker for general use. It is louder than I expected which was a nice surprise. The 360* sound is not something I was familiar with but it's been great to leave it centrally located in a room and to be able to clearly hear whatever is playing no matter where I stand in relation to the speaker. The Bluetooth connection is super quick and easy, it took a few seconds to be up and running when I opened up the box which is appreciated it. The app seemed like a good idea however I didn't find it useful for much other than controlling the volume if I wasn't up close, I'm not sure if I don't understand all the functions of the app or if I just didn't find much use for them in general. The app does allow multiple people to connect at once to DJ however I was unsuccessful at being able to connect two devices at once and couldn't test that out. I didn't test out the water resistance/proof claims as I don't want to ruin the speaker. I also don't own a pool or hottub or anything that would require the speaker to be used near water. The size of the speaker is nice and it's not as heavy as I anticipated. The rubber caps on the end are nice and make the speaker less likely to tip over if gently bumped. The speaker also charges quickly with the included charging cord and brick and I was impressed with the quality of the charging items in general. Overall I think the speaker seems to be constructed well and the sound the speaker produces is very clear. I was anticipating a deeper bass because of the description however the sound is still impressive. Even at louder volumes, the music is clear and does not distort. The other impressive thing is the Bluetooth range, I've been able to get quite far from the speaker without any disconnect or distortion. I would definitely recommend this speaker to someone who is looking for a solid Bluetooth option with crystal clear sound.
