Love this Speaker - it is everything you expect it to be and so much more . First it is waterproof - awesome ! Second the battery lasts a very long time - bravo ! Third the sound - it is amazing! I need to buy another - great job !

Sounds quality isn’t good especially for bass heavy music. All battery is horrible.

This speaker was delivered to me 3 hours ago and I couldn’t wait to use it. It had a muffled sound right out of the box. I messed with the eq settings on my devices and on the speakers through the app and it just sounds crummy. I wouldn’t recommend getting the Megaboom 3. I’m going to return mine.

In the box is the megaboom 3, quick charging adapter, and micro usb cable. I am a true fan of the ultimate ears and very happy to add this to my collection. The best parts about this speaker is the waterproof feature, the charge dock and the app! The waterproof feature allows you to have the speaker in the water and it is supposed to float. The waterproof rating is IP67 and definitely great for the outdoors and around water features. The charging dock did not come with my particular box but I wanted to throw that out there to make sure you get the unit that has the dock. I own multiple portable speakers and sitting a speaker on a dock to me is way better than having to plug it. Also the usb port is not on the bottom of the speaker but on the side, so you don't have to turn the speaker upside down to charge. I can't wait to get the dock to charge! The app is another part of this speaker that makes it amazing. Pair up multiple BOOM speakers and have a party! This section of the app is called Party Up. Turn on the pairing feature on all of your speakers at the same time and the app will recognize them and connect them to the app. You can pick and choose which speaker will play. Another great feature is the Block Party. This is where multiple people can connect together with each of their playlists and the app will play one song from each DJ. Also, the help feature is excellent because it will go into details about how to do different things with the speakers. Some flaws I have noticed is when connected to the iPhone, when the lock screen is opened, the music pauses or if there is any other sound other than music, the music will stop. Not sure if its a development error or if this is supposed happen but just noticed it when playing music. The sound quality is definitely a plus and this speaker plays loud enough to fill a floor, not a room, so I would not recommend in a dorm or apartment unless the volume is turned down low. Would I recommend this to a friend, ABSOLUTELY! This will definitely be played at family gatherings and slump parties!

An amazing product! I had the original for five+ years when it finally gave out after many trips to the beach, pool, and outdoors. It was a constant companion to me and sounded amazing. This model is an improvement on an already amazing design. It feels even better to hold, the charger port is even better placed, and I love the docking option (though I was it was included, but for this price, I think that's fair). It sounds great, and I think the only reason my original speaker gave out it because of the charger port. I am hoping the better charging placement and docking option mean this one will be with me for even longer. I LOVE this speaker!! In addition to the great sound quality, it also gets pretty loud. It was the go-to speaker for parties within my friend group when I had the original and I'm sure this one will be the same. Oh also the app is so good! It's really nice that you can turn it on and off from the app. I haven't tried the feature that allows you to pair multiple but I'd be excited to try that too.

UE products have always been one of my go-to brands when it comes to sound and quality earphones. Their Megaboom 3 Bluetooth Speaker on the other hand...is still a go-to. Amazing amazing quality product. Feels great in hand, its form factor is well balanced. It's easy to use and easy to pair. And it's no joke when it comes to durability. It'll survive drops, can be tossed around in a pool, and even worked great on our river rafting venture. I don't know if it's just me but I feel that with it's 360 degree sound it sounds better outside than listening to it as indoor speakers. Maybe because indoors you typically have the sound directed at you, while outside you're moving around more and the 360 degree sound is more balanced. Overall a great device. The Night Black color is really nice. If you plan on using this outside you don't really need more than 1, and I don't know if I'd get more than 1 for an indoor set up as at that point I'd probably go with other specific dedicated brands for a 5.1+ set up. But for outside, this is the device to get!

1 year later and this thing has already had charging issues with Mai ring a charge. Upon charging the speaker when I go to turn it on it says it’s dead.

I am pleased with the quality of the product, we use nearby the pool, there are no water issues, and Bluetooth works well, we also bought it for the in-laws, and they loved it too... I recommend it.

These are horrible. Worst idea to purchase these speakers. Purchased them only 30 days ago and they are both already broken. Speakers are blown out and the battery life says 20 hours and it only last 2-3 hours on average even when plugged in all night. Which is not 20 hours last time I checked. I got these to use at work where they are turned up loud to over power the machines. The crappy radio we got for $40 has lasted 3 years and counting. But the $360 dollar speakers last 30 days. What is going on here? This product deserves zero stars.

I own several of these portable Bluetooth speakers and this on outshines them all. Starting with the sleek design and easy setup is just the beginning. The sound is outstanding. The smart phone application provides a power switch and a customized EQ experience that is incredible. When I paired my phone and started listening, I was extremely impressed with the highs and lows. I would recommend purchasing the optional charging station, but the USB charger provided works great as well. I was pumping everything from RAP, Heavy Metal to symphony music through it and it all sounded outstanding. This is easily my new favorite. The top button provides multiple functions and the volume control is handled through the plus and minus signs on the outside of the device. This was a well thought out design and the sound is second to none.

When i got the speaker it was missing the case part for the micro usb where you plug it in for charging. Don’t know if this effects the waterproofing but still bummed.

The UE Megaboom 3 is one of the better bluetooth speakers available, especially at the new, lower price point. It marries really great battery life, "life proof" operation (dust/water/drop resistance), and the ability to get remarkably loud while still maintaining decent sound quality. Overall, sound quality is actually the one area where the UE Megaboom 3 disappoints, however. While it's good, it seemingly has not improved over the previous generation of Megaboom speakers, meaning it's not really worth the upgrade for anyone that has any of the previous models. Also, while the new design is really sleek, the +/- buttons are difficult to push now, as compared to my other Megaboom because of the completely flush/integrated facade. If you're looking for a speaker that can take knocks, can hang out with you out on the boat or around the water, and can get nice and loud, this is still your best bet. If you already own a Megaboom, I'd pass on upgrading.

The UE MEGABOOM is the perfect go to wireless/bluetooth speaker around. I use it primarily at work in a loud work area and the sound is phenomenal. No muffling and perfect bass to sound ratio. Just don’t use an air hose to blow off the dust, I blew my speaker out wondering how it happened..
