Honestly, I am not impressed. And actually the opposite, I am disappointed. I tested with my android phone and my ipod touch. Pros: Nice shape - can't go wrong with the cylinder. This particular all black color scheme is boring but that was out of my control. There are other color schemes (that's a plus for options). I like those big volume signs on the side (I simply like the way it looks on there, I am not saying it is the best placement for volume control). Good size. Good weight - it's light. Easily portable. You can take calls and listen to media together. It pairs easily. The app allows you to connect a playlist to the Boom, using Deezer (I had never before heard of it). That seemed to be the only option. It is a cool idea actually, but I am not joining Deezer, so. << That is a pro and con together. You can connect many many Booms together using the app. Not a Deal Breaker: The volume controls aren't as easily controllable as they might be if they sat on the top (but it looks good). The power button could easily get mixed up with the magic button (or whatever that biggest button on top is called); but I guess one would eventually get used to it).The charger is micro USB as opposed to USB-C (how old school of you Logitech). The actual charger uses a big ol' charging block taking up all your outlet space (and just screaming ipod classic chargers, from the beginning days... except BIGGER). Oh and the indicator light showing that it is charging is on the "back" under the charging port (not seen with ease). Cons: The sound quality leaves so much more to be desired. The volume can go up up up, but what's the point if it reduces the quality of the sound. This thing sounds like it is begging to be release from confinement. There are zero hints of surround sound (I'm not saying there is supposed to be surround sound). This thing just sounds so obviously 1-speakered. The sound is not clear (not expecting top notch, but...). It was lacking any bass until I swiped through the various equalizer settings in the app and put it on the Bass setting. Every time I messed with it a little to try to improve the sound even more, it only got worse, so I left it right where it was in the Bass setting. It also tends to sound scratchy and a bit airy. I was simply not pleased with the sound output from a 3 (as in, Megaboom 3). The app is whack. It does not offer much. The least it could do is let me turn the thing on with the app (oh, but you can turn it off with the app though). By the way, I also tried to connect my phone to it while it was off, to see if that would avoid me having to get up... Nope. Oh well. The app allows you to connect a playlist to the Boom, but only using Deezer. Since I am not joining Deezer that is a moot point. Also, for some reason the serial number in my app is different than the serial number of my Boom. Am I trippin'. Anyway... The top controls - Bluetooth, Magic, Power, that's it. Magic (I don't know if I'm saying the name right) allows you to pause, play and skip (you can skip a song AND you can skip a playlist). But guess what you can't do with that magic button, go back. I don't plan on getting up to push physical buttons, but if you can use Magic to skip forward, then why not back? Lord, I must be crazy for wanting to hear my jam (or a few jams back) again. I truly had always wanted one of these, but what a let down. It is not the worst thing (sound wise) ever, okay. I just have certain expectations when it comes to sound quality, depending on the product (especially when it comes to higher models). If I am missing something hear, please let me know immediately. I could say, "If you are not bothered by sound quality then go for it." But not even. If you are not bothered by sound quality then spend less money elsewhere. I would not recommend this Megaboom 3 at this price. Shoot, you know what, I read this thing is waterproof and not water resistant. I did not test it, but that alone would be cause for consideration for those who want to use this for pool parties. Peace.

Excellent speaker, loud and clear, louder than the Sonos roam. I own both speakers. Also when you pair two megabooms you get stereo sound which is amazing! Great product , highly recommended! This will be my second megaboom because someone stole my original one

This is a fantastic speaker and worth every penny. Connecting to it with my android phone, tablet, laptop and iphone was very simple. The “Boom” software is nice to use, simple You can control volume, EQ settings, and connect multiple speakers together. Speaker overall feels durable. Though I haven’t yet, but I’m confident dropping the speaker wouldn’t break it. Pros Booming sound quality Doesn't "crackle" or distort on the highest setting Don’t have to worry about dropping it Come with USB quick charger Cons. Didn’t work with my chrome book. Type C USB would have nice

Purchased in 2018 and in 2023 it died. It is unable to hold a charge and will not work even if plugged in. The sound quality was pretty good and when it worked well and held a charge well. Would recommend. It is unable to replace the battery.

Real Talk If You Can Handle It

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Let’s start with some psychographics - I’m not an audiophile nor a snob and want UE to succeed. But it’s time for some unfiltered real talk about the MegaBoom: - Does it sound “good”? Sure - Is it loud? Uh, not really - is it pretty? Absolutely The problem is that the sound fullness isn’t there. The fidelity isn’t there. This thing does not produce luscious sound. If it’s in your face on a table in a small room, maybe it’s OK. Outside, it’s disappointing and doesn’t perform beyond about 10 feet. - The skunk stripe up the back? Little sound - The giant + and - buttons side? Little sound on that side either - That’s correct - the sound really only fully comes out of two sides, which is certainly not “360 sound” I am probably beyond spoiled with my Marshall Stanmore Bluetooth speaker. The MegaBoom3 is a thin toy compared to ot that seems to hang it’s hat on being submergible. Can I throw The Stanmore in the ocean? No. Would I? No. If you’re using the MegaBoom3 outside, you’ll probably return it, like I’m doing.
