The rechargeable battery finally gave out on the fitst one after 4 or 5 years. I came back to this brand because of the quality, reliability and overall value. My Megaboom 4

I’ve found that UE speakers produces the sound I like. As for battery life, as long as I don’t lose the charging cord I am fine.

This was a surprisingly difficult decision to make xonsidering all the options. Previously owned two boom 2s and two megaboom 2s and so ultimately went with this as i was familiar with the app and prior performance for my use cases. As mentioned, overall pleased with the choice. But cant help but wonder what some of the other competing products from other vendors and even wothin UE sound like. Price tag for this was the only conn on context of timing for my purchase, as literally every other competing product seemed to be on sale but this one. I do admit a growing curiosity for what a second mega boom 4 linked in stereo would be like, as i really enjoyed that aspect of things from the 2 series i had.

MegaBoom 4 Pair

Unfortunately, I left them in the rain with the charge cord. Would have survived the rain if the port cap was closed. I purchased 2 new Megaboom 4 speakers even better than the original. I recently used them at an outdoor wedding in stereo party mode and had a lot of positive comments. We loved them around the pool most of the time. I'm always asked to bring my Megaboom's.

The upgrade to Type-C is a godsend and allows let go of my last holdover microUSB cables - thank god. A little heavy in a carry on bag, but if you wanted to travel with a loudspeaker you understand the weight cost and could do much worse than this. solid connection in a crowded room more than 25 feet away. Can't really ask for more

I am pleased to finally have one. Better sound than my Bose Bluetooth speaker. Easy set up and easy to use. The app works fairly well in using the speaker too. I may purchase a second one so that I can pair them for use throughout my house.

It was easy to pair with & to control from my iPhone. It is light & shaped in a way which makes it easy to move from room to room. It is a fun color. (Although aesthetically, I could do without the huge volume plus & minus signs on the front.) Cons: The description states that it comes with a charging cable, which it does, but it does not come with a plug for the cable, which you have to buy separately. That should be clearly stated in the description. I was unable to charge the speaker until I went out & bought a plug, which was inconvenient & disappointing, as I wasn’t able to use the speaker when I wanted to. Best Buy was helpful & offered a solution, but contacting Ultimate Ears directly yielded no results, aside from a presumptuous assumption that I had to have a plug that fit the cord, which I did not. (How much could it possibly cost them to include a plug?) My experience Ultimate Ears customer service made me not want to buy another one of their products.

There is no need to any handle as it fits perfectly in your grip. Sized to fit the shower or the bench towel bag. Most importantly the sound is very good. Music is enjoyable and podcasts are easily understood. You might say it was a much better value than I originally expected.
