I was reading pretty solid reviews for this particular speaker and was excited about purchasing. Upon receiving, I was impressed with the aesthetics of the speaker and 20+ hours battery but ultimately, I have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed in sound quality. My genre of preferences is typically Top 40, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Reggae, Alternative, and a bit of Rock and Roll. In the speaker's defense, I am a bass-head, which is a huge selling point for me especially for the price of this system (300 bucks), and it sorely lacks performance in bass. Speakers struggle to capture fullness of bass at low and high volumes and average around mid-volume. Picking up deep low bass notes--very flat to say the least and also non-existent. On the brighter side of things, it's loud if nothing else. Not the most crisp and full sound pushed out, but it is loud especially around 4-6ft away. The farther away, the sound quality diminishes. Overall, in my opinion of course, you can keep all the pleasantries--the weatherproof-ness, 20+hour battery, dual bluetooth hookup, speakerphone. Give me great sound quality and clarity; this speaker just doesn't deliver that for $300. Returning UE Megaboom for either Sony SRS-S5 or S7 or Bose Soundlink Mini

Bought this on sale for $249.99. It isually sells for $300. I thought that was steep so I waited for it to go on sale. Now that I have it I'm waiting for another sale so I can buy a 2nd one to pair to it. This is an amazing product. Easy to use and the sound quality is amazing. The long battery life is another great feature. I also like the water resistant feature. I haven't gotten it wet but it's nice to know it can handle it. I've literally never written a review but I love this thing so much when I was online checking it out again I though I should share. Buy this and you won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for a really good Bluetooth speaker and still on the fence about which one to buy don't be. Get off of that fence and buy this one. When you buy a speaker this small you have to give up a little of something or in some cases a lot of something. This speaker will not shake the walls. Don't even shop for small Bluetooth speakers if you need that kind of performance. They make Bluetooth speakers that will shake the walls but you're moving up to a much bigger speaker set and about $500 just to join the club. The MegaBoom is well worth the money compared to similarly priced units that don't sound anywhere as good. I did some pretty intensive comparison shopping. I looked at Harmon kardon, Bose, fugoo, monster and a few other brands. I kept coming back to the MegaBoom. So one day I just bought it. I bought it from bestbuy and they only had a demo display that wouldn't allow me to connect to,it to test drive it for real. So I just bought it to play with it since I couldn't do it in the store. It was the only unit that was like that. All the others I could connect to and play my personal library through them. Lucky for Best Buy I enjoyed the performance of it and I didn't return it 30 minutes later. It's small footprint takes up little space and can also be hung on a hook. It fills the room with rich sound and quite a bit of bass. A suprising amount of bass from such a compact package. So buy the MegaBoom with confidence

This is our second MEGABOOM purchase. The first lasted about a year and quit working. This one, purchased as a Father’s Day gift, sounds awful and like it’s blown most of the time.

This was one of the few speakers I came across that doesn't distort when the volume is at max. Bought this for my mother that teaches dance in a large studio and needs good quality especially at the higher volume levels. Oh and it looks pretty nice too!

Returned a poor sounding Fugoo Sport. Spent more money for the Megaboom, and have found out that the expenditure was well worth it. Can hear well in other rooms. Fine base. Looking forward to purchasing another one, then pairing both with the app.

When we had this one we really love it because was something different but after a few months started to loosing signal and the sound it's really bad

I purchased the electric blue UE Megaboom in July 1 of this year. First I was in awe of how great the sound on this speaker was. The battery life and range was amazing too. I was seriously looking into a second so I could pair them. Then today... I went to listen to music in my garage like normal and something was just off on the sound quality. I listened closer and it has that tinny sound when speakers are blown. I have never turned the volume up on the speaker past 75% so I thought this was strange. Maybe this was a problem with just one unit, but it left a sour taste in my mouth after splurging on this speaker. Best Buy was fantastic though and returned the speaker to store credit so I could purchase either another one or something different. I think I will wait on another UE product for a little while.

The battery takes a long time to charge and has little durability. Additionally, the charging terminal is not compatible with other cables.

I had the original UE Boom speaker and it was amazing, unfortunately it went swimming in the ocean. So when I saw this Mega Boom I was so excited. It is soo loud, great sound and a lot larger than the orginal UE boom. Love It!!

Didn’t last long! Staticky....at first it works well after few months started staticky.

I bought it around 2 years ago, and during the last month of use I had have problems charging it, I plug it in and it just turn off surendly.

Had the speaker for 4 months and now won't take a charge. No damage to it nor has it been mishandled.

I'm happy with the sound quality, battery life has been very good, and the bluetooth range is good, but not quite 100ft. Overall very satisfied!

I have been unable to pair with echo dot so have no idea about sound quality!''Could use better instructions!

Bought this speaker to pair with another. After over an hour with tack dept no luck and returned.

it broke!! I cannot recommend it. Look nice but not worth it
