I bought 2 of these for use at the beach and our neighborhood pool and they've worked great! The Bluetooth stays connected very well up to ~100 ft and the sound is ideal for outdoor environments. Syncing the 2 speakers together for stereo sound is very easy and the Outdoor Mode button on the bottom does make the sound clearer at the beach, when the sounds of the waves can sometimes drown out the music. They're definitely rugged enough that I don't worry about my young children damaging them and they're heavy enough to be used as beach blanket anchors.

It is truly waterproof. Bought for husband who love to shower with music. Sound is amazing. You can take anywhere.

With a budget for a Christmas I got this for a family member. Best sounding speaker in the less than $70 (on sale) range I had. I’m assuming they’ll like it! Fine sound from a small speaker, gets quite loud! Sound is clearer then the Sony’s that sounded more muffled and trapped.

I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile, or at least very picky when it comes to speakers and I was wowed by what encompassing sound this little thing offers. I needed/wanted a speaker for out by the pool and thought for the money I’d give it a try and man am I glad I did. For $80 I thought it sounds just as good as the Mini Bose speaker that cost $200 and isn’t waterproof. I also liked that in the future I can link it with others of its kind for more high quality sound.
