When I called Ultramobile, they stated the sim was activated in August. Did an exchange only to have the same issue but activated in September. To add insult to injury, the manager at the store gave me attitude like I was some sort of scammer when I tried to exchange for a different prepaid. Safe to say I would not be buying anything from that store again.

Horrible service and unreliable! Beware!

It was very complicated on transferring the service over and per instructions if I wanted to have calls to my same number while in Mexico for the three days I was there I had to input my current cell phone number while setting up the SIM card for use while I was there. I purchased the unlimited text, talk and data plan and when I got to Mexico it worked sporadically, mostly the first day. Afterwards I wasn’t able to order an Uber or text or make phone calls. When I called customer support I was told I had to pay extra roaming charges which still didn’t explain why I couldn’t send or receive text messages. Upon my return back to the US, even though it only worked a few times, Ultra wouldn’t refund or give me any credit. This is the worst service and coverage. If it wasn’t for my daughter’s phone I would have been in another country without a way to make calls, text or obtain Ubers as needed. Very unreliable and no peace of mind for travel. When I went to put my other carrier’s SIM card back in my phone, I learned that the instructions given by Ultra to simply use my phone number while in Mexico moved my number from my original carrier and gave it to Ultra. It took most of my day when I returned to get it straightened out and get my number, which I’ve had for over 20 years back from Ultra and back to my account with my carrier. What a nightmare! Do not waste your time or money with this product or company!

Sucks up data

I activated the service for a 2 gb plan of data on Monday afternoon. By Wednesday, I have used up 48% of data. I am not a heavy user on the 2 and 1/2 days of service, Its was light usages, checking email, looking up things, and sending 4 pictures, no YouTube or any video or maps. I was home using wifi most of the time. With my old services, my data usuage is usually around 2 gb of billable data per month on a unlimited plan, the reason for the switch. I called customer service, they said it was normal, no issue there. They said it could be me not knowing I was not on wifi or my background apps refresh often. I don’t use my phone that much at home, I use ipad and computer. Used up 1 gb in 3 days and no video during the usage is ridiculous. I will looking for some other company or switching back soon. Not happy at all with this company. Something is fishy here. With the way the data is being used, I guess I may need to upgrade to a higher data plan or unlimited plan. I guessed that’s how they get you.

Check for compatibility with phone

Does not work as advertised

Soaks data, unacceptable prices for additional GB
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I registered my card on Monday afternoon and on Tuesday evening I was out of 2GB, which is absolutely impossible as I haven’t been using it apart from google maps and WhatsApp chat. I normally would use 5-7 gb a month! I looked how to top up money and it is $10 for an extra 1gb!
