Much better than I anticipated. Best of the series

A decent vampire movie set in modern times. It's dark and stylish. A lot of new age goth saturates the screen. It's gory and action packed. Not the greatest story line, but i found it to be entertaining. 4K looks nice. Bonus digital download to boot.

This is a excellent performance by Kate Beckinsale and this helps move this film out of the realm of other Hollywood horror movies. It keeps your interest throughout the entire film.

Listen, if you like Underworld and are a fan of the franchise, then this is definitely a worthy purchase. If not, I would suggest watching it first then buying.

The movie is good, that is not the issue. The 4K on this did not look like other 4K movies did. It was very grainy, like it was just upscaled instead of 4K.

This a return to form of the earlier movies but still not as good as the original and far better than the last sequel. Picture looks great in 4K.

This is a fun action film with a twist. The film suffers from a long run time but it is one of the better horror action films out there

I was pretty excited to see that Underworld came out on 4K. I blame myself for convincing myself that this movie was better than it was the last time I saw it. Regardless, my biggest issue with this movie isn’t the plot, it’s the poor transfer and very basic menu options. This could have been a dvd and and looked the same. Save your money.

Movie is entertaining but the steelbooks are so horrible. Don't really convey the tone of the movie and look amateur

The first and best installment of this dark series. Kaye Beckinsale and Scott Speedman shine in this movie.

Stupid and fun movie. Bought it because I like to collect steelbooks.

Bought Underworld because I wanted to see the classic cult movie in 4K and hear it in Dolby Atmos. But I felt it was actually just as good visual quality as HD, not Ultra HD, sadly.

I enjoyed all of the Underworld movies. I picked this up with high hopes, but I am not a fan of the Popart Steelbooks.

Warning. Picture of the movie and labeling indicate you get a 4K digital with it. That is not currently true. It is mislabeled and the disc that I got was 4K and Bluray only with NO digital.

Note: For this review, movie was viewed using an OPPO UDP-203 Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player and a 2016 LG OLED TV (65") Underworld is a bit of an older title to be released on the format -- it's going on near 15 years while most Ultra HD Blu-Ray titles are of recent releases. One of the problems with older titles are the CGI effects (they just don't hold up) and whether the company does a full remaster or if they decide to upscale the years-old blu-ray release. I'm happy to say that Underworld looks great in 4K.. but with a disclaimer. The film itself is very, very dark (as it's meant to be). On an OLED, it looks fantastic and blends into the screen with HDR; if you're using a lower-end LCD/LED panel, it may not look as good as the blacks will be a lighter grey color. The majority of the film takes place in very dark areas and has a very muted/de-saturated color palette, but it really works for it. As someone who generally prefers a very clean, modern, noise-free image... I actually did like Underworld on 4K. I will say that it's a VERY, VERY grainy movie and you'll notice it instantly. If this is a problem for you, you may want to skip it. With that said, I found the grain to be very natural and not like digital noise or too distracting. There is no way around it though: Grain everywhere. The movie comes in a 2-disc set with an Ultra HD Blu-Ray, a 1080p Blu-Ray and a digital copy code. All extras are on disc 2 (1080p) while the movie itself comes in at 2.35:1 (black bars on the top/bottom) and Dolby Atmos sound. Fortunately, Sony has gone for a somewhat discounted price here. Overall, very happy with the title but not for everyone.

I love the underworld franchise in my opinion its probably one of the best vampire/werewolf adaptions there is.

5 of 5 stars for the vampire and werewolf movie Underworld. I've seen this movie several times and continue to be amazed and the plot and visual look of the movie. Wow. I keep finding new subtle things in the movie overlooked in my first viewing. This movie is the starter for a 3 movie collection. Telling some of the history and moving forward with this story. Underworld and Underworld Evolution move the story further in time while the third movie tells the history of how we got here. The story is about two races of beings, the upper class Vampires and the worker class Werewolves. In the old times, the races lived together in harmony, now they are at war. This story focuses on "a human" who we later learn has characteristics of both races and his blood is valuable to both races. Of course, our lead character (Kate Beckinsale) needs the help of a sleeping vampire lord. A very impressive movie with stunning visual look. Once you finish Underworld, keep on going with Evolution and Rise of the Lycans. Highly recommended and added to my list of favorite movies.

Len Wiseman used the budget money "wisely"; great idea, plot look,sound design and look of vampires & werewolves. Well cast. Only weak spots were "slapping" look of final fight scene, Shane Brolly, sorry Shane, you had a great look however...acting?...AND hybrid look of Michael's chatacer was okay (much better than sequel though) Patrick Tatopoulos did amazing Lycan.. Loved their transition as well as did the simplicity of the vampire's! The Sound design was so great for any budget...I loved the sound when Kate picked up the silver bullet that the Lycan pulled out from the subway scene! All sound effects were awesome! Kate and her look were perfect as was Bill Nighy as Viktor "recomposing" hmself. All ideas were very cool. I wished sequel was as good; must have spent the $$$ on something other than the movie, like maybe your salaries,only kidding..NOT!

this movie is a complete rip off of bram stoker novel and a complete rip off of other vampire novels written by other authors including stephanie meyer and stephanie king this movie reminds me of the first high school musical movie with instead of bubblegum pop music it has gore cussing and lame action scenes a 6 year old can write a better movie then this and this is not a true vampire movie iv read all vampire novels and who cares about gore and action come please gore is not everything its the storyline due iv read countless vampire novels and been obsessed with vampire novels since 1997 onwards and this movie is by far the worst vampire movie ever made instead of watching this movie buy bram stokers orginial novel instead and rejoice and buy other vampire novels also including the twilight saga by stephanie meyer
