This is the best Star Trek film of the series and I'm glad to finally add it to my home collection.

Always fun to rewatch this movie, which I consider the best of all the original crews work.

I was curious to check out the Director's Cut and it came with a free ticket to see Beyond

The director's cut is not worth the price of the disc, but the special features are.

The best of the original movies by far. remastered for blu-Ray looks great.

Glad to have this cut of the film. Too bad that Paramount messed up and duplicated a scene. But, the studio is replacing the product for free.

The Blu-ray has an editing error early on in one scene. Paramount is offering replacement discs though.

Got this shipped to my house. The case was cracked and missing pieces from the bottom. Watched the movie VERY excited to see "new" scenes and didn't spot a single one. Going to rewatch with the commentary but for now extremely disappointed.

I made a mistake buying this release. This is a faulty release. 1) A shot of Sulu is played twice during the Kobayashi Maru sequence. 2) Some dialogue has been removed or muted even though the sequences have not been visually altered.

This version of the blu-ray has been recalled. Best Buy should have returned this blu-ray to Paramount for a free replacement.

A few days ago, CBS Paramount released a statement regarding the disc replacement program due to the editing error (of the wrong video) that was on the restored master of the directors version recently released - and on your blu-ray. Shipping date to be announced, but expect it in July 2016. Here's the statement / information: It has come to our attention that there is a slight master assembly error on the recent Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan – Director’s Cut Blu-ray release. Fans who would like a replacement should contact our customer service department at: [email protected] wrath of khan returns at tce dot com or call 1-844-898-4365. The corrected product will be shipped free of charge. It is always our intention to distribute the highest quality product and we apologize for any inconvenience this error has caused. * It doesn't state this but I suspect the phone number is only answered between 9 AM to 5 PM pacific time Monday thru Friday. At least, that was the usual information in one of their many statements like this in the past.

As a nearly lifelong fan of this movie, I have owned it on various media (VHS, LaserDisc, DVD) and I have even seen it in theaters a handful of times, so I can say without a doubt that it has NEVER looked better than it does on this Blu-Ray! The image clarity is stunning as is the sound mix. Also included are a bevy of bonus materials. However, what is NOT included is a digital copy as is usually common with Blu-Rays. Additionally, iTunes has this same title in 4K HDR which is NOT available physically. It's inconsistencies and cut corners like this that are going to kill physical media, not consumer disinterest.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is great not just because it has action, not just because it has heart, not just because it has the best villain, and not just because it has parallel literary references, but because it has all of these things. You can try comparing this to Star Trek Into Darkness [spoilers] since that movie is a loose remake of this one, but they are different animals. The resounding theme in STII is old age. This crew has HAD their 5+ year mission. Khan is a passionate villain bent on revenge. These two differences heavily separate this from the new film. Extras are decent but understandably light. This looks like a quick cash Blu-ray, with crummy cover art and no Director's Cut, but it's cheap and the best the movie has ever looked or sounded.

If you've never seen a Star Trek Movie, STAR HERE! This is the absolute best Star Trek Movie "EVER". Every other movie in the franchise tries to emulate the quality of this movie. Wrath of Kahn stands alone at the top. The movie was made in 1982 and the special effects can still hold up to todays standards. There is a sense of realism that you cannot get with CGI and the old school technique of live action blends perfectly together. Oh, did I mention the story. Only one of the best from the original series and brought back to life in high definition. If you wanted to know why you bought a blu-ray player, here it is. A 1982 Classic Sci-fi that looks just as good if not better than the latest CGI offering.

The Wrath of Khan is the best of the original series movies. It's special effects were ahead of their time. The producers drew their success from the first motion picture. The Blu-Ray edition does not include the "directors cut" which had additional scenes. I think that the directors cut should have been the one used in the Blu-Ray edition, but that is a minor issue. Any "Trek" fan would be well served to add this Blu-Ray to their collection!

I haven't watched this movie in 10 years, but watching it again on Bluray reminded me just how great this movie was. I was concerned that it may not hold up well, with so much time passing since it's filming. But I totally enjoyed watching it. It is a great transfer of one of my all time favorites! A must for any Star Trek fan!

Finally, after years of waiting, the Director's Cut Edition of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan has made its Blu-ray debut. Also, if you want to watch the theatrical version, it is included in it. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is one of the best Star Trek movies ever.
