What starts off as the most common generic conflict of neglected child thrust upon an incompetent parent heading for a Hallmark card finale of gushing sentimental bonding before the end credits roll, instead takes a dark turn into survival on the bad streets that'll chew you up and spit you out if you don't think fast and fight back first. This film sucked me in and kept me on the edge of my sofa to the gritty end. This ain't no Disney fantasy. Its the culture of hard knocks in an uncaring world that beats the working man down and the redemption of necessity and purpose that can give you the strength to try one more time to fight the odds against you. Now ask yourself, are you ready for this?
