The product works well as described, and I found no issues. However, it is not something to put on for the whole day, while doing your daily tasks. This is good for conditions like working at desk, standing or walking for an extended time. You can calibrate the product and it gives you warning when you slouch. If you leave it on during the day, since your posture is not constant and you bend and move, it gives you too many unwanted warning. I strongly recommend this for the people working at desk for long hours. I also wish the add Apple watch App for upright go 2. They only offer it for go 1.

The Upright Go is an amazing little device. I have been trying it out for about a week. It is used to correct you from slumping your shoulders which I am notorious at. I tried a device that you strap on but it was uncomfortable and didn’t work anyway. I was a bit concerned that this device, which emits a slight vibration when you slump, may not really work as claimed – but it most certainly did. It is a brilliant idea. The vibration does cause you to pull your shoulders back right away. Your brain quickly gets the hint and you begin to slump less even when using it only for a week. It is not uncomfortable at all, and it is really very easy to put it on your back just about 4 or 5 inches below where your spine starts. It uses a pad like you may know from when electrodes are attached with some medical devices. You can where it under clothing and it is so small that it is not noticeable. The app you download is fantastic and very well designed. You don’t need to read the instructions that came with it as the app walks you through the setup and usage. You also get statistical data from the app on how well you are doing. The app will instruct you on setting up your correct posture and it is so helpful to watch the visual on the screen which shows you slumping if you want to watch while you use it. You charge it in a small case. It comes with several additional stick-on pads and you can buy them cheaply when you run out. There is a color-coded LED to alert you when it is charging and when it needs charging. There is a very nice video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph3ifHLp4NE&feature=youtube which was very well done by the manufacturer – it’s less than 4 minutes and it is a good idea to watch it. Everything about this product is well thought out and I am very impressed with the idea of using this technology to help correct slumping. Wonderful product and I would highly recommend it – it works.

One day I happened to be browsing some of my Arlo camera clips that were captured via motion detection. One of the clips was of me replacing the inner tube of my kid's bicycle. I was horrified at my posture. This was a real eye opener for me. I have since been trying to make a conscious effort to straighten my posture but I need help. When I read what the Go 2 Posture Trainer did I was very curious. So when I got it I could not wait to try it. And to my surprise it works (so far). The concept of this is very simple, surprised nobody thought of it before. It literally vibrates when you are slouching. Yes, that simple. The device is small, like a small car key remote fob. It comes with several sticky pads which are reusable. It should be plenty to last you a very long time depending on use. You charge the device with a USB type C which is included. Then you push it's only button to turn on. You download the app and set it up. Super easy to do so. You create a free account, then it asks you a few questions about your age/height/weight and you are ready to go. You then use the software in 2 different ways, tracking and training. The training feature is the most useful as it asks you if you are stationary, moderate activity, or active. Then it monitors you, setting off a vibration if you are slouching for more than the designated seconds in which you set. The tracking feature just "monitors" you as long as you are wearing it and you can see how your posture looks throughout the day. It does not vibrate when you slouch, just documents it for awareness. I have been using this for several days and I can honestly say that I am more aware of my posture now. I am very busy at work and home right now so I am not using it as much as I would like, or simply forget. But I cannot wait to keep using this to see how much my posture will improve over time. I can then watch myself on my Arlo camera without cringing.

The Upright - GO 2™ Posture Trainer is a neat little device that you attach to the middle of your back, just below your neck, to help monitor your posture. How it works: Inside the Upright Go 2 is a small tilt sensor that monitors the angle of the device, and a Bluetooth module to communicate with your phone. Open the neat Apple-esque box and you'll find a small white case, the Upright Go 2 and a USB C charging cable. There are also 10 gel packs (adhesive mounts) that last between 3-10 uses each. Additional ones can be purchased on the Upright Go website for $6.95. Bear in mind you will need these ongoing, if you intend to use this device regularly. If you only want to use the device periodically then these gel pads will last you a good while. In my experience, one gel pad lasted about 4 days. Charging the Upright Go 2 only takes a couple of hours, a status indicator light (red when charging and green when charged) shows up, even when in the case. Press the button on the device, it will flash blue and start looking to pair with your phone. Peel off the protection for the adhesive pad and attach it to the middle of your back, just below the neck, more than likely you'll want to hide it under your shirt/blouse so make sure you drop it down as far as you can reach. Download the app, set up your profile and then calibrate your desired posture. You do have to calibrate your posture every time you use the Upright Go 2. During the calibration process, you can manually adjust the motion range and the delay time using the settings icon on the left of the app. Increasing the motion range moves the red circle up or down the graphic, and allows you to bend more or less depending on your desired preferences. The bending motion is only measured forwards, and not backwards. So if you do slump into a chair, it will not let you know that your posture is poor. The delay time is the time that it takes between your posture hitting the motion range alert you have set and the vibration alert on the Upright Go 2. Depending on the tasks you are doing throughout the day, it will be useful to adapt these settings to your daily motion trends. If you are on your feet a lot, you can have a short delay and a low range of motion, to maintain good posture. If you are sat a lot of the time, then you may want to lower the delay time and increase the range of motion. As a Graphic Designer, I am constantly up and down and moving around, and then spending periods of time at a workstation... so I would get many vibration notifications throughout the day. Alternatively, there are preset 'Stationary', 'Standard', and 'Active' settings programmed into the device for you to use right out of the box. The device is very comfortable to wear, not heavy at all, unobtrusive, doesn't pinch the skin while wearing it, or rip the skin when removing it. An altogether pleasant experience while using it. There are two main modes for the device, 'Training' and 'Tracking'. As their names suggests, Training is in place to help you get started using the device, gives you a timed training session in which to maintain good posture. Typically, you will achieve 100% in training mode, as you'll want to correct your posture as soon as you feel a vibration. The fun starts In Tracking mode. Here you don't get the vibration reminder throughout the day, it simply tracks your posture. At any time, you can look at the app and see how long you've been using the Upright Go 2, and how many times you have slouched within that period. It has a nice pie chart that shames you with red for slouching and green for good posture. Here, typically you'll land in the 60-80% range, with striving for 75%+ being a good goal for the day. They recommend not striving for 100% during the day as that may also result in bad posture, depending on your daily tasks. If you remain slouched for 15 minutes, you actually get a notification on your phone that you have been slouched and you should adjust your posture. You can also connect your app to your Apple watch as well and see the graphic of your posture in real time, without having to pull your phone out of your pocket. At the end of the day, the Upright Go 2 reminds you to take off your device and set it up for charging. It will run for 30-45 hours on a single charge, so charging every other night is required. As an incentive, when going through the training process, if you complete 3 sessions, you'll be offered discounted gel pads for future use. It is a very robust and well thought out product, nicely designed, simple to use, with a clear and well laid out app. My reason for 4 stars is that over time, I can see this being used less and less, by a casual user. It does take a moment or two to set up every time you use it, and it can become a little hindering when completing some tasks during the day, unless you completely keep it in Tracking mode. And also for the fact that it only measures posture in a forward motion (stooping) and not backwards (overextended) position seems a little odd to me. I am sure there's a reason behind it tho. Other than that, to train yourself, very inexpensively, to better your posture and think about how you carry yourself, this is a worthwhile investment in your health and well-being.

Not only for health reasons, but as an attorney, my posture is important to me. While when I'm standing I do an okay job at maintaining decent posture, I am often chained to my desk (figuratively) and find it easy to slouch. This device is a great trainer to help you improve your posture, but it is no magic pill. You have to devote the time and practice. Overall, if you follow the app's training regimen you will see results. WHAT YOU GET The packaging is really small. The device itself is really small. But it comes with a case (not a charging case) which is designed to be a place to store your Go 2 when you aren't using while maintaining some "stickiness" to the adhesive (more on that in a moment). You also get a short USB-C cable (hooray for USB-C charging). Lastly, and most importantly, you are given a decent number of adhesive pads so that the device can stick to your back. INITIAL USE The first time setup is dead simple. Like most smart devices, you download the app and register an account. From there you simple hold the only button on the device (this is after an initial 3 hour charge, mind you) and my phone found it almost immediately. The written instructions in the box are just fine, but I much preferred the instructional walkthrough on the app when it came time to show you how to remove the adhesive (which in hindsight is common sense, but in my first go I wanted to be sure.) You then place the device on your back (on your skin) and then you sit or stand straight to set a “goal” and then voila. The app walks you through the “training” and “tracking” process. USING IT The app tells you that you need to commit to use the device daily for 14 days. I haven’t gotten that far, but I’ve been using it consistently and I can say that if nothing else, using the device serves as a reminder to maintain good posture. The training is only 5 minutes at a time, and for me, it’s actually a nice way to relax. While I am keeping my posture straight, I take the time to just free my mind. I’m not talking about meditation, but similar to the breathing exercises in a FitBit, it’s a good way to relax. If you prefer to “train” while not looking at your p[hone or you try to do other things, no big deal. If you slouch too much you get about a 4 second grace period before the device gives you a gentle buzz. I found when sitting, it was much easier to maintain posture (and avoid the gentle buzz reminders) but when standing, I found it to be a little sensitive. Meaning if I didn’t stand like an absolute board, I would inevitably get the buzz. Not sure if it was a settings thing, or if I really do slouch that much when standing. Also, if you are “training” while moving around, if you bend over to pick something up or whatever, you will get a reminder which in those moments feels annoying. But that’s probably why you should be focused on training when you’re training. When you’re done training, you can, through the app, set it to track you. After a while, you can look at the app to get a baseline. It’s a good way to track your progress. And the app is smart enough to tell you that the goal isn’t 100% straight all the time, as then you wouldn’t be relaxed. So be wary of that for all you perfectionists. 50-80% good posture was recommended to me as a goal. When you’re done training and tracking, you can put the device back in its container. It has little raised ribs that prevents the adhesive from sticking to a flat service (so it maintains it’s sticky properties longer). The materials say that you should be able to get 8-10 uses of the same adhesive. Meaning you put it on 8-10 times and remove it. Which is nice because it it was one adhesive per use, this baby wouldn’t be getting much use. MINOR ANNOYANCES I’ll admit it, I have a hairy back. When the adhesive is brand new, I don’t have any problems with the Go 2 sticking to my back. But after a few uses, it starts to fall off. So for me, I go through the adhesives quicker than someone with smooth skin and no hair. With that, you will eventually have to get more adhesives. It comes with a fair number, but still, they will run out if you use this device long term. At least you can order more adhesive tabs in the app itself, which I must say is a plus. CONCLUSION If having good posture matters to you, this is an extremely helpful device that isn’t too pricey. But it’s also no magic bullet, you have to put in the time (training, remembering to charge it, take it with you, etc.). As an aide to helping you improve your posture, it’s fantastic. I recommend it for anyone who wants to improve their posture for whatever reason.

The app posture tracking feature of this device is cool, but the technology in the device itself is flawed. Depending on how you calibrate, if you lean forward in your seat with a straight back it registers as you slouching, or if you slouch backward in your seat it registers you as sitting upright with good posture. The device only really works when you are standing up. It does not help for posture while working at a desk, as I had hoped.
