    Does not help posture

I tried this for a week to see if it worked as advertised, it doesn’t. I was trying to fix my shoulders from rolling forward however; this device is on designed to identify if you are leaning forward, which would be fine if you slouch while you work but not for fixing any posture issues long term.

This product has a nice concept, but actually using it is a bit cumbersome to most people. I would suggest that this should not be a gift for a person. Let them buy it themselves - because someone has to WANT to go through the steps - to use this device.

This is an interesting device. I'm a fairly big guy (6', 175), and it nestles beneath a casual shirt unobtrusively. it would be pretty obvious with a dress shirt / jacket. The device tapes to your back, and you enter one of two modes on your phone - training or tracking. In training mode, it helps you feel what upright is like for five minutes. in tracking mode, it warns you when you slouch and keeps a record of your good versus slouched posture. Of course, this assumes that you understand what upright posture looks and feels like in order to set your baseline. This is tricky for someone like me, because if I knew that, I might not slouch. But, a mirror and a helpful girlfriend allowed me to sort that part out. It also only looks at front to back slouching, not side to side, dropped shoulder, or bending your spine. It would be far more useful if it tracked at least the dropped shoulder / side slouch. When wearing this, be aware that if you bend for any reason - tying your shoe, eating your soup, whatever - it will tell you that you're slouching. This can get old during certain activities, Overall, I'm going to keep using it for a while and see if it can help me with my slouching habit. I'm hoping that by vibrating when I don't know I'm slouching. I'll be able to forgive it for interrupting my lunch.

I will summarize this from the start. Does it work? It definitely does. A correct posture while walking or sitting is great for your health in general but especially for your back and neck. Does it boost your confidence? That is up to you but I can guarantee that you will LOOK more confident. That is just plain science and common sense. Just look at people who walk with their heads down or slouching and you will unconsciously deem them as lacking confidence. The ones who walk upright are perceived as people who know exactly what they want. Whether that is true or not is not important here but it is what perception of body language is all about. This device will help you with that. The reason I was interested in the Upright GO2 was not so much because of my posture while walking. I spend many hours sitting at a desk. By the end of the day, I feel the pressure on my back. Fortunately, that goes away within a couple of hours or so but I am concerned about my back in the future if I continue like this. The Upright GO 2 was much smaller than I expected and it stayed on my back easily. I could only tell it was there because it made sure I would remember every time I would slouch, even just a little bit while sitting or doing anything that required looking down. Yes, it was a torture the first day. I was almost having a panic attack and my stomach literally hurt. It is not physically painful but being constantly buzzed (vibration only) is not easy to get used to. However, I have learned how to control it a lot better and am sure that in a few more days, I will be totally fine with it. The truth is, I am learning how to sit and walk upright, which has caused the “buzz” or vibration to decrease significantly. I even found out that my walking was not as great as I thought it was. I learned after the first day that you could control the sensitivity and that is something that you might want to do unless you are not bothered as much as I am by the constant vibration or buzz as I call it. My recommendation though it that you start with less sensitivity in the first two days and then move it to normal so you continue to improve your posture. If you exercise, you might want to make it less sensitive or just change it to tracking instead of training. In tracking mode, it will just remind you every 15 minutes that your posture has not been good . It stayed in place during my daily workout but it does not seem to be a good idea to use it in that situation, at least not in training mode. I do recommend its use. It is actually working very well for me. It has helped me correct my posture in most situations, especially at the desk and walking. It is so light and comfortable that you would easily forget it was there if you never slouched.

This was a total waste of money. You stick it to your back, stand up straight and use an app on your phone to program this posture. It's supposed to gently buzz to remind you to correct your posture when it detects you are not in your set posture. But if you lean over to do something it buzzes. When you bow your head it buzzes. When you do something but you're not in your set desired posture--it buzzes. This device is not helpful at all. I wish I could get my money back but I'm too late.

The Upright Go is a small device that sticks onto your upper back to help train you to correct your posture. This is something I desperately needed as I sit in an office all day in front of a PC. By the end of the day, I often find myself hunching over my keyboard like a caveman! I’m sure my posture is questionable at best throughout the day. This little device seems to be exactly what I needed! The Upright Go 2 was very simple to setup and the app is easy use on my iPhone. Upright Go has two modes: training and tracking. During training mode, the device vibrates when it senses my back is not upright. In tracking mode, your posture is tracked, but it does not buzz every time your posture is poor. Instead, you can view a pie chart in your phone that shows upright vs. slouch and some stats. The Upright Go attaches to your back using a reusable adhesive. The adhesive is supposed to be reusable for 3-10 days. I’m on day 5 is the adhesive is still working nicely. Should you use up the included 10 strips, you can purchase more ($6.95 for 10). I’ve been using this for 6 days and I found it to be very helpful. I would sit up “straight” at my desk, when I looked at the app, I was actually slouching a bit. It’s very tiring to sit-up straight! I’m hoping it would be less tiring after some more usage. The other thing I noticed was in order to sit-up straight and view my computer, I had to lower my seat a little. I’m thinking all these years, I should’ve lowered my seat because it was causing me to slouch while working. This device picks up slouching if you or your head and neck area is leaning forward. If you’re simply slumped down on the seat, it won’t pick that up since he sensor is still positioned upright. After 6 days, I feel the upright go 2 has been very helpful in improving my posture. When the Upright Go vibrates, the buzzing sound is fairly quiet, my co-workers haven’t noticed any noises, and we sit only about 4-5’ apart. I would recommended the Upright Go to anyone looking to improve their posture.

I think my excitement and expectations for this product resulted in a little disappointment once I started using it. I’ve always known I didn’t have the best posture, especially when I’m walking, but I couldn’t seem to benefit from this device as much as I hoped. To be fair, I think my expectations were high. The device is well made, and the accompanying app is well designed. But after using it for over a month, it didn’t seem to address my main concern of correcting my slumped shoulders and slightly-off posture while walking. I will admit, I did grow tired of it constantly buzzing, so I did turn off Training Mode probably more than I should have. But the device’s inability to know when I was purposely leaning over to help someone at their desk, or to bend down to tie my shoe, for example, lead me to cut-off my training earlier than recommended. Because of this, I grew frustrated using the device in any setting other than sitting. I found it easier to use the device while sitting at my desk during the workday. When I activated Training Mode at my desk, it did do a good job notifying me when I started to slump or lean too much. I ended up learning quick that my desk posture was better than I expected. Meaning, the app allows you to customize the device’s sensitivity, as well as the amount of time it waits before it notifies you that you’re sitting incorrectly. I found that I needed to increase the sensitivity and decrease the time so I can be notified quickly if I was slightly out of posture. Another concern I had is if I was calibrating the device properly. When you first turn on the device and open the app, you are shown a tutorial on how to sit and stand properly so to successfully calibrate the device. I never quite felt that I was calibrating it properly. If you have bad posture to begin with, it’s possible to calibrate it incorrectly. Therefore, any training during that session, the device will see your posture as acceptable, even when it’s truly not proper posture. I also found that I couldn’t use it while I was driving. Again, I was hoping to gain better posture while driving. I found that the device was too sensitive for all the starting and stopping/braking. It would buzz even when I was sitting properly, especially when coming to a stop. My only guess as to why it does this may be due to an accelerometer inside misinterpreting the forces from starting, stopping, and turning as leaning too forward, back, or to the side. It thought I was slouching at every stoplight and turn. In terms of the quality of the device itself, it’s well made. The provided adhesive is very effective and sanitary. The adhesive part can be gently washed with soap and water, which refreshes the adhesive for continues use on your back. Overall, as you can tell, I was a little disappointed with it. But as I stated earlier, maybe my expectations are too high for such a simple device. It appears many other people can use it effectively and found that it meets their needs. Also, it’s still possible that a software update can address the constant buzzing during training when you must lean-over for longer periods of time. Either that, or I try to better use the device within its constraints to have it be more effective for me.

The Upright - GO 2™ Posture Trainer - White offers a unique way of assisting the user by sending warnings through vibrations when their posture is less than ideal. I found this to be an odd experience and not necessarily practical for everyday use. The placement and way it attaches to the wearer is odd, but it is effective in notifying when posture is failing. PROS - Effective notifications - Sleek design - Easy to setup and use CONS - Practicality for everyday use is questionable. - Wearability and attachment is odd and distracting. Overall, this product has its place and audience. It is recommended for anyone wishing to have active help in improving their posture. It was just an odd experience for me.

The Upright - GO 2™ Posture Trainer - White works in similar fashion to the dog collar that conditions the dog not to travel beyond a certain point or be subject to receiving an electrical shock. The Upright - GO 2™ Posture Trainer conditions my mind to become aware of when my posture is not a perfect ninety degrees perpendicular to my floor, by vibrating when my posture begins to slouch between 75 and 80 degrees. The Upright - GO 2™ Posture Trainer works by first installing the app and following the set up instructions. Through the app, I can see my stats, rate my progress, change settings, help center and customer support. With constant vibration on my back, I realize my posture is not correct and straighten my back to a ninety degree position which is shown in the app as an animated figure. Daily use should mentally condition me to become more aware of my slouching to the point of creating proper posture.
