One of the main reasons that I purchased and continue to like my Surface Book is the detachable screen. This case does a great job protecting the screen as well as the keyboard, but its instructions recommend that the hinge be completely extended backwards before removing the screen. If you don't have the screen pushed all of the way back before detaching, you have to pry the black piece that coils around the hinge off and awkwardly shove the tablet back into place. It kind of ruins what's otherwise a pretty nice case.
I also have had some issues with the fit. The tablet portion does not seem to sit flush with the top, so there is a mushy feel to the volume and power buttons unlike what I'm used to with the other UAG cases. The keyboard portion seems to slide too - I notice after some minor transportation that the case will have separated downwards and need to be pushed up to close the gap at the bottom between the keyboard and the case. I'm also not really a fan of the extra snaps that this case adds that you have to pry apart in order to open the laptop.
Kind of disappointed overall especially for this kind of money, but there's no other options so I'll take it for now. I expect more from this brand name that I've sworn by on every iPad and every Surface tablet I've owned, though. Hopefully they will come out with something a little less inconvenient.

Bad fit, prohibits tablet attachment

As others have mentioned the top does not sit flush which makes the power button and volume rocker "mushy".. The hinge on the back prohibits easy removal and especially reattachment of the tablet to the performance base. I really wanted to like this cover, but will be returning.

I suspect as another member that this case was made for the original surface book not for the surface book with performance base
