Mouse with a Tail

Nothing is worse than being in middle of document and needing to stop to look for a battery. My experience has been that the wireless mouse is too light that contact with certain surfaces required you to roll around till you had surface contact. No problem with Insignia, the firm, weighty features allows solid contact with various surfaces so there is no guessing. To me mouse technology is as important as your system. Besides the power button to your CPU, the mouse conducts the beginning and the end of each of your program sessions. It is the Holy Grail.

Works fine, a very light touch

This makes it kind of hard to control in the sense that it 'overshoots the mark' and ends up taking several movements before I can place it precisely. I find this mildly annoying, but not a serious drawback.

Wired vs. wireless mouse made no difference to me. It still takes up a usb port. It works just fine.
