I use this for work and travel. I do not need noise cancellation for what I use it for. The quality of the sound is like sipping a fine single malt scotch. And the quality of the headset is like a fine handwrapped cigar. It is a little bit small and it may have problems on a "bigger" ear. So try them on before you buy.

I am personally a Sennheiser all the way person, but the keyboardist at work has no idea about brands and quality yet and needed and upgrade from his “beats by Dre”.
I bought these for him as an upgrade to show him how quality headphones make all the difference when recording certain types of music.
These will be the first step in his audiophile journey.
Baby steps with Best Buy, thanks a lot guys.

Bought Sony MDR10RBT and this one compared the two and personally this one was far better. Thought this one had a more enjoyable smoother sound. All levels sounded clear and did disrupt me from enjoying the music.

I have owned many headphones over the years. I have been in the process of upgrading my stereo and wanted a set of headphones that would do well with digital and with a vast vinyl collection. These are those head phones. Great soundstage no matter that you are listening too!!

Couldn't ask for a better set of headphones. I love the the soundstage and it has made my music sound incredible. I use them mainly for my Vinyl, but they also sound great with my digital music too. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Product sounds great but once you loose your receipt say goodbye to your warranty. I've had Vmoda for more than 10 years but this one just stopped working after keeping it a few months in it's package without using it. My LP2 from 2012 is still working though. Not going to buy Vmoda again not because of the quality of the sound, I love it by their customer service wasn't the best.

It fits the ears just fine. You can customize the look but there's no point of doing that. The base is not as strong as you would've expected but would reflect true acoustic. Use it for my board and I like it so far.

I thought I would have to wait until next Tuesday, Dec. 15th, which was the actual expected delivery date but to my surprise, they shipped out last night and I just received these today.
I tried them out during my lunch break and already had the XL ear pads handy which I purchased from another vendor prior to ordering the headphones.
Mind you, swapping out the pads was a tad bit more difficult than I originally anticipated, but definitely worth it. Increased the comfort level to a 10 from an 8-ish.
Okay, so my first impression of the headphones in person was love at first sight. I was shocked at how superbly beautiful the packaging was.
The box is surprisingly heavy, mind you. Also, I couldn't bear to cut the little red ribbon that's keeping the contents from being immediately accessible.
Note, I'm not sure if they made it like that but as soon as I tugged on the ribbon a little, it came undone.
Moving along... I undid the snap button and flipped the lid open.
There were a couple of logo stickers, the user manual, and a little accessories booklet inside of a sealed plastic sleeve.
A one-sided sponge on top of the exoskeleton case and on the bottom. Inside the case was the headphones and 1 cable secured to each side of the case. The headphones look and feel sturdy, like, they were meant to last years. Due to being super clumsy, I'm just relieved that I won't be dealing with a plastic headband or plastic sidings. The headband against the top of my head was comfortable. After 10 minutes, I didn't even feel it anymore and after changing the ear pads, it felt like clouds were hovering over my ears.
So as far as presentation, comfort (after changing the ear pads#, and build goes, I give this a 10/10.
I've only tried listening to music through this using my phone #Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge), but even then, the sound was clear and very rich. I'm not an audiophile so I can't tell you highs to lows. I do know one thing though. I'm not sure if this is appropriate or not, so if it's not then please let me know...
I had the volume at low and gradually turned the volume up thinking that this wasn't so bad bass-wise, but as soon as I went past mid volume.
Only think I could say was, oh, my wow... My heart started racing and I could feel myself getting excited. I'm not exaggerating even a smidge. It's probably crazy to say that this was one of the most intense sensations I've ever experienced, but it was.
All in all, sound wise, I give it a 10/10.
I can't wait to go home to try these out with my Xbox ONE. I'm hoping the sound from the FPS and RPG games I play turn out to be just as flavorful as from my phone.
Happy searching!

These cans blow my mind

I'll start by saying that I've worked for Best Buy for over a decade and I never write reviews. There are few toys I haven't played with to a verdict or owned. Because of this, I annoy myself at how uneasily impressed I am.
Headphones are my pet hobby. I have owned Sennheiser HD595, Etymotic ER4, Shure SE315, Klipsch S4, others that escape me now, dedicated amp/DAC, lossless codecs, blah blah blah, so I'd safely put myself in upper-enthusiast category. I save the term audiophile for a different breed.
Stewing over this pair for a while, since I could never try them in a store and finally ordered them. The only contender was the Sennheiser Momentums, which I have heard and loved.
All of my previous cans have left SOMETHING to be desired. Impedence too high for portable devices, comfort, versatility of use and music styles, build quality, ugly as sin (low on my list of importance), etc.
Start with the important stuff. They are sensitive enough to pair up to a mobile device without sacrificing. They have a wide soundstage, buttery mids, tight punchy low-end, and crystalline upper range. These are not neutral enough to be classified 'audiophile', which for most people is not bad thing. I haven't found a genre or style they don't own faithfully, but they similarly offer a liveliness that I think even the most snotty of purists would have a hard time admitting they don't love.
I haven't taken these off for 3 hours as of this review and they're still more than comfortable. To avoid repeating verbatim the features and specs already listed so I'll just say their build quality is probably sufficient for an accident prone Navy SEAL, but I work in a retail store and go to the gym (occasionally) so check the durability box.
I don't care too much what my headphones look like. Okay now I do. I got the Shadows and the I'm not sure if function follows form or vice versa but they have swagger. Headphones are not jewelry in my mind but there's an industrial, post-apocalyptic aesthetic to these I can't get enough of.
For me, there is not a single characteristic in a pair of cans I didn't get delivered on and then some with the V-Moda M-100 Crossfades.

Absolutely astonishing mix sound quality, comfort, durability, build quality, and portability. I own several headphones from Monster, Sennheiser, and Bowers & Wilkins, and none of them can match the V-Moda's in all of the categories. There are dozens of stellar reviews all over the web on these so I won't rehash them, but it doesn't matter if you listen to classical or rap, you will love them. Finally a headphone that can be fun and bassy like the Dr. Beats line, but have the audio separation and the high frequency response of a Sennheiser!

I have owned many over-the-ear and on-ear headphones ranging from a pair of standard Sony models to Bose QuietComfort 15, QuietComfort 25, SoundTrue Over headphones, Beats Studio (2013, v2), Beats Mixr, and now these. Overall, these are the best sounding headphones I have ever owned. The bass is still there but the highs aren't harsh like with the Beats and the mids aren't drowned out like with the Bose headphones. Everything is more balanced despite the heavy presence of the bass.
All genres of music sound really nice with these headphones. I haven't come across a single song that didn't benefit from the added bass, attention to highs, and attention to the mids. Pop, rock, metal, electronics, rap, etc. Every song sounds new when being played through these headphones.
The M-100s are also very durable. All exposed audio cables are reinforced with Kevlar which helps against pinching and breaking while the headphones themselves are made out of metal. Despite their construction, these are still lighter than the plastic Beats Studios (2013) and only ~60 grams heavier than the really light Bose QuietComfort 25s. They are extremely comfortable to wear though the provided earpads touched the tops and bottoms of my ears. My ears weren't being pressed in, it's just that the pads were touching them. That kind of bothered me so I ended up buying the XL pads (you can buy them from V-Moda or not, they are only $20) and those have made these headphones even more comfortable.
The headband doesn't have much padding but I've found it to be on par with the Bose QC25s, better than the Beats Studio (2013) headphones. You can even customize the M-100s with your choice of two different audio cords (black and gray) for $15 each, gray earpads ($15 for standard, $20 for XL), and the metal plates covering the outer earcups are available in a variety of colors and you can even have V-Moda put a custom logo on them.
You can tell that these headphones were made with the audio community in mind while also appealing to the general public (i.e. the Beats/Bose crowds). They are more durable than any Beats/Bose headphones while providing much more detailed and better sound quality. Their stereo separation is top notch as well. I can hear whenever an instrument is being played further away from the recording microphone. It's especially evident with drum cymbals.
My only complaint is that V-Moda didn't include a noise canceling mode with these. I would have liked it if V-Moda added a noise canceling mode to the M-100s so that I could use them as-is for most of the time and then switch them over to noise canceling (while inherently reducing audio quality) for those few times I am flying on a plane.
Other than that, these really are stellar headphones. Just do yourself a favor and buy the XL earpads if you are having initial comfort issues. Those help relieve the pressure from the headband (which isn't much) while giving your ears some room to breath.
