We bought this because we missed it at the movie theater. I thought it was entertaining at times. This reminds me much of a sci-fi similar to the fifth element. I think the fifth element is a better movie. Four stars for visual effects and some of the action sequences. Story was ok.

Got terrible reviews and admittedly miscast with the lead but we saw it and loved it. Such beautiful space scenes. Making up for the miscasting of Valerian is the outstanding casting of Laureline. Go in with an attitude of enjoying a summer movie and you'll have a great time!

I was really looking forward to this - splashy previews, Luc Besson, etc. - and I'm a huge fan of some of his other movies, most notably Fifth Element. The visuals are stunning and some of the ideas were interesting and I just wish the story was better. I liked it but not his best.

To be honest this was my first time seeing this movie and it's very funny and allot of action and good story and it's based on a comic book series from the 1950's and early 1960's that comic book inspired George Lucus to make Star Wars.

If you like science fiction that doesn't take itself too seriously and enjoy movies riddled with great special effects, then this is the movie for you! It's fun and also very imaginative. Definitely worth buying!

We buy hard copies of movies we like and vintage movies we love. None of this streaming from the internet for us. We have a large movie library and proud of it. I am something of a film historian, so that matters. Thank to Best Buy, we can easily keep up with what we need.

I enjoyed the visuals in this movie and made the worlds feel alive and the cgi was well done. However in terms of the acting I was not a huge fan of the lead the movie was named after. Which is a shame because I thought the actor was fantastic in Lawless years back. I felt like the way he approached the character did not match the characteristics of what was written. It seemed to be written like a one liner classic James Bond type but was played off like a tough guy Solid Snake type. As for the story it was nothing special either. It became a movie where everything coincidentally comes together for plot purposes at times. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the movie picking it up but I will say I did enjoy it much more than I thought I would.

This one, like many films that are a bit quirky, has to have a cult-like following for folks to enjoy it. I have enjoyed most of Luc Besson's project, but some may not like his style. I really liked the conceptual design and saturated coloring in the film.

Instantly recognizable as a movie by the director of the fifth element. A worthwhile movie simply due to the amazing visuals on 4k.

If you are Steelbook collector, this is a great one to add to the list. A digital code is included. The movie itself wasn't great but was still entertaining, beautiful cgi though. I will probably watch it again in the near feature when I have forgotten it.

Very much in the spirit of Luc Besson's first space movie, The Fifth Element. Quirky, interesting story, and good action. It took me a while to warm up to the characters, but upon reflection, the characters grew on me.

This was a good movie, the special effects are amazing, the creativeness of characters and different worlds is impressive. The acting by the two main characters was not so good. This would have been a great movie if not for the forced love story - It was not needed.

A lot of people didn't like this one, but it is loads of fun. Luc Besson as Luc Besson should be! The opening sequence is just shy of brilliant and the rest is so large in scope that you can't help but surrender and enjoy.

Visually this stunning epic science fiction film is fun to warch, but that's about it. The Chemistry between the two principle characters isn't believable. The plot was slso week. Better casting, and a stronger storyline are needed.

Don’t listen to the reviews(critics) on this film. It’s a fun summer film that feels like a younger fifth element. While it may not be on the same level, the imagination is there. Bought this a blind buy since the cover was nice. Definitely worth a purchase.

I never saw this movie in the theatres, but which I had. Hence, my decision to get it in the 4K format. I was not disappointed and neither will fans of this genre. I certainly recommend this movie.
