Both my son and I are avid gamers, we would not accept a reduction in experience, so we choose Steam whenever we can.

I am not a big fan of proliferation of the DRMs. I am a bit old school and prefer the idea that a game comes with a code that can be played and then given to friends to play as well. Those days seem to be over and Steam seems to be the dominant player in the gaming digital rights management. The kids love the ease of getting new games with Steam.
