Perfect for people trying to keep credit card information off Steam. With security being tough to come by in the digital age, the steam cards enable you to make your purchases safely... Or if you don't have a credit card and live in your parents basement.

My boys use STEAM for playing PC games. This gift card was a perfect Christmas gift. Similar to other gift card activations, to use this card involves scratching off the code cover on the back, and then entering the code into your STEAM account.

I ordered 3 gift cards online - only 2 of the 3 were activated. I am having problems getting resolution on the 3rd card. I was told that activation failed, but have not been able to get either a new card or a refund. Trying to get someone on the phone that can actually address this issue is impossible!

When you launch the steam client, you can open your 'games' menu to see the 'redeem codes' item. It will open a screen with a space to enter your steam code. The money from the gift card loads right into your steam wallet. Fast, easy and a great gift for any pc gamer.

This was a gift for one of my sons' friends. They all play CSGO a lot so the gift worked perfectly. We have never used one of these so don't have direct experience with the card.

Pros: Works fine - easy to use. Can use for gift purchases. Avoids entering CC information to Steam. Con: You have to load your wallet in fixed increments (even the "game-targeted" cards are rounded up) I buy these to get points for my Steam purchases :)

Being one who dislikes having my CC# out on the 'net for hackers, I found this alternative for Steam to be a perfect fit. If my acct is hacked I lose very little. I had no problems at all adding the card to my acct, worked perfectly! I'm a happy camper this way.

Steam cards are easily found near the front of the store in a display. They are easily redeemed on the Steam site for secure purchase of Steam applications. Great way to give a software gift to someone but let them choose exactly what product(s) they want

Being from a different era of technology, I had no idea what I was looking for as gaming gifts for my son. A young gentleman by the name of Nick at the store was very helpful and informative

I bought this for my son and his new Steam account. Steam puts a hold on being able to use new gift cards on new accounts. He had to wait 30 days to use this credit. Kinda dumb.

These cards are great when you can get them on sale. Super easy to add to Steam and save precious cash when Steam sales are active. Plus, if your credit card earns points/cash back or you have a My Best Buy account you get even more savings from rewards points.
