I bought this as a gift card for a friend. I thought since I was buying it online, and you redeem it online I might just get a code to send to my friend. Instead I needed to wait for shipping. At that point I was disappointed as I am used to buying codes in stores and getting the code on a receipt (not a gift card) so I thought this was a waste of time. I was happily surprised to see that the shipment wasn't a waste since it was a real card. However, why do I need a physical card when the entire transaction process in online?

Steam is pretty great. I love that they do what they can to support Linux. Their sales are pretty good. Also check out competitors such as GOG.

For any friend or family member who loves to play games on a PC, these Steam cards are the perfect gift. They are very convenient to use and allow the gamer in your life to choose what he or she would like to play rather than you having to make that call for them.

The code to one of cards purchased could not be scrapped off properly and could not be cashed. I returned it to store and manager reluctantly gave one time credit. She blamed me for not scrapping it properly which was not true. I will be purchasing several more and now worried it could happen again.

What can i say? It is a giftcard work as expected.

I walked into Best Buy and was immediately greeted. I was in a hurry so I asked where the Steam cards were. The associate offered to go grab it for me. I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes! It was awesome!
