Even in a semi bright room you can still see the picture. Obviously the darker the better but for the price well worth it.

I did see that it works best with IOS. I purchased a $30 HDMI to Type- C cord separately to connect to my phone. It is not bluetooth enabled and wasnt able to use the projector's speakers like others said on the reviews. I used my OWN portable speaker and connected via bluetooth to my phone. The quality of the image is great, no complaints. Im usually in my dark room, so I didn't see it necessary to buy the upgraded version of this. The pictures show with lights on and off. And my background is a brown textured wall, i will eventually look for a white sheet.
