It comes with a cord that HAS to be plugged into the unit an a outlet. An it starts getting really hot within 20 minutes of use.

The only downside is the built speakers are not very loud. So connecting a Bluetooth speaker to the phone was essential.

I had to return it. I wish I would have known before purchasing because we then had to pay the restock fee.
