The material is a very hard plastic and smooth to the touch. It is not slippery like some other cases. It has ample protection around the edges and cameras as well. I have received several compliments on the design too. the dark color doesn't show dirt or grime. Best Buy in Matthews had a large selection!

It's pretty and it does a good job of protecting the phone from being dropped. Be aware that the case is smooth and easy to drop.
