Enjoyed it more than expected…
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unlike the greater majority of movies that are released these days, filled with political and social tripe, this movie is fun. It has an abundance of funny moments, and a decent amount of Marvel intrigue that almost satisfies the basic comic book reader. I found myself wishing for a lot more, but gratefully accepted what was offered because I wasn’t forced to endure another political statement piece that selfishly distracts from the actual story. The story and characters need to be the driving force of the movie, and not the political opinions of studio suits that have nothing to do with the story in the first place. People are hungry for content that helps them escape reality, not be soap-boxed to the beliefs of others. This movie was refreshing, and I enjoyed it more than expected. Looking forward to more.

The movie? Mediocre. The disc? Great.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did you like the first Venom movie? Then you will most likely enjoy this movie as well. As a sequel I found it to be somewhat weaker than the first movie and only mediocre. With that said being a huge fan of the character since I was a child, and being heavily invested in the Marvel universe, I saw this movie and enjoyed it for the special effects and the characters. With that in mind, this is a Sony disc so you know that you can expect reference quality 4K and reference quality Dolby Atmos sound. Even if you're not a huge fan of the movie, this is a great way to show off your AV system.

dope steelbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a good time with this movie. It's fun and pretty funny with some entertaining action. It's also very messy with regards to the story, action and dialogue. The action isn't as good as the first and neither is the music. The story brings no value. And there were some stupid moments. I also can't stand that it's not rated R. I could say that about the first, but it did a great job of pushing the limits while also not having too many moments where it was obvious it would have been better with blood. This movie has SOOO many moments where it could have been amazing if they went all out. It felt so censored.

It’s VENOM!!!Enough said….
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome steelbook. The cover artwork looks cool and will go well with the first Venom steelbook release. The look of the 4K movie is well done.Audio of the film is wonderful.Very dynamic and well placed on a good surround sound system. As far as the script and the actors, it is VENOM!If you are purchasing this then as a fan you probably know what to expect.I enjoyed the actors performances.A little over the top for some viewers, but again it is Venom. This character is big and bolstering.Hardy is always great with characters such as this.A great steelbook to add to my growing collection of comic book related 4K movies!

It’s at least fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you enjoyed the first flick and want more of the same, this will make you very happy. If you weren’t as into the first, but still held out hope the filmmakers would go a different route, prepare yourself. My thought of this flick is the same as the first: a terrible movie, but a ton of fun to watch. What I Didn’t Like Shallow Characters - No additional depth is given to Eddie this time around. He’s very much the same guy we left at the end of the first film. An attempt is made to go into Cletus Kassidy, but it falls flat and doesn’t add anything to the character. If they had made him more scary and alarming, there wouldn’t be a need, and that’s where the writing really failed. Story - There’s a reason the run time is 97 minutes. There’s just not much here and it’s very apparent. The script is very uneventful, and when you do get to the main event, it’s just as disappointing. Characterization - This specifically goes to Carnage and Cletus. People complained about the PG-13 rating in the first film, and while I did hope for an R, it didn’t hurt what it seemed to be going for. Here though, the lack of violence and gore was felt. I have not read Maximum Carnage as of now, but I know what it should be and this was a far cry. What I Liked It’s Just Fun - While the script missed the mark with the tone, it was still was fairly entertaining. You just need to forget the connection there should be to the source material. Final Thoughts This is not a good film, but it’s still enough fun to make it worth seeing at least once. The post bumper scene alone is the reason to go, if nothing else. While I’m sure a third entry is all but inevitable, comic purists will continue to hate the series as it currently sits. It’s not the worst film I’ve ever seen, but you’ll likely forget most of it shortly after leaving the theater.

Better than the first.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely of dumb fun. Silly and over the top comedy at times. Hardy is great and Harrelson is in a league of his own.

Crazy fun, massive potential w/Hardy and Sony
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good movie. I liked it well enough. It’s mindless fun at this point driven by a always incredible Tom Hardy. And let’s be honest. That’s what this franchise is Now. Tom Hardy acting his heart out for a monster that looks really cool while eating heads. And I am totally ok with that. Giving 4 stars cause the steelbook was slightly uninspired. Front was great. Inside was fine. Back was just a blown up picture of the front. As if to just say: “holy cow look how cool all these symbiote tendrils look. Even when they mix with venom tongue and slime. WHOA!”

Let There Be Carnage
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Venom 2 , meets the basic requirements of a comic book movie enjoyment with improved CGI, wonderful looking action and another very convincing performance from Tom Hardy. Andy Serkis the director has learned from the mistakes made in the first movie, so he dispensed with long detailed explanation about characters, instead amped up the humor, leaning into the funny and flirtatious dynamic between Venom and Brock, which is really great and fun to watch.

Great Artwork and Steelbook for any Collector!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is in response to the actual Steelbook, not the movie. The movie is only 5 out of 10. Haha But the Steelbook has beautiful artwork and is great for displaying in your house or keeping for any collector. I will warn some people to make sure they check their disc before opening as some of them get loose during shipping and will scratch up during transit. Better to do it before you remove the shrink wrap, i.e., just shake the Steelbook to see if you hear a loose disc inside so its easier to return to BB. Hope this helps!

Good comic book action movie.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Venom 2, Let There Be Carnage, cuts to the chase and delivers on the look, action, and "lethal protector" comic book story line. Its a little short by today's movie standards, But then again, that is preferable to being too long with filler that would ruin the movie. Tom Hardy delivers on the Eddie Brock portrayal, ad does Woody Harlson as Cletus Cassidy. Venom almost steals the show again with his on point humor. And Carnage looks & acts just like it's pulled from the comic.

Didn't satisfy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly thought that the movie was going to be much entertaining but I was wrong. Not much of carnage and too much talking. The dialog should've been way better and involve more suspense. There were some funny scenes but thats as much as I got out of it. I wouldn't recommend to buy. I did purchase at a sale price. Now i know why.

30 more minutes of length would have helped
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Humorous follow up that puts Eddie and Venom's relationship at the forefront. Comic fans may be disappointed by the changes in Carnage and Shriek's backstories which seem a bit rushed and the movie as a whole is way too short. But what is there is pretty great and the Carnage on Venom symbiote fighting action looks glorious. Woody Harrelson was a good choice for Carnage as he seems to be channeling that Natural Born Killers vibe which works pretty well.

A decent movie
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While overall I enjoyed this movie, I will have to say for me it wasn't as good as the first. I can't put my finger on it, I just feel this could've been a lot better than it was. I feel they did a good job with who they picked to be Carnage, Woody Harelson has the correct amount of crazy, but that being said, there is something missing, again it's great for your home, if this was at the box office it wouldn't have been worth the money to watch in that environment.

Sony is finally getting the hang of this
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and what Sony has brought to the table with regards to the Venom character. Carnage came with just as much great story and concept which goes for Shriek as well. The only reason they got one star off is for how the villains ended the movie which I think does a disservice to the level of villains that Carnage in particular truly is. So much more story to tell of his. But otherwise a great watch.

Responsibility Is For The Mediocre.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a sequel better than the original, than this is it. Andy Serkis delivers and brings the infamous comic book villain Carnage to the big screen, and teases with a post credit scene for the possibility of something all MCU fans have been waiting for. The chemistry between Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson really turn this movie up a notch. Overall, a very intoxicating and live-action packed sequel for infamous symbiote!
