He was very happy with it, it's not top of the line but it does it job. I would recommend this for a first timer and maybe upgrade as you get familiar with using it.

Not for audiophiles.

That’s all it really is for me these days is decor. There’s only so much sound the built in speakers can turn out, and the quality is not that great. Sadly plugging in external speakers does not help much as you cannot bypass the internal ones. Turntable is made of plastic and feels cheap. Good price though. Lie I said, does look great as a vintage piece in the corner of a room.
