Although it does not have great base, record players of in the 60's were not that great either. The sound is pretty good even on my old records which are 30 to 40 years old. Got for may Wife for Christmas and she loves it. I like being able to make mp3s from our old records especially ones that don't have a CD replacement.

I needed a CD player quickly after my old one suddenly died. Although I'm not into retro decor, I read that this multifunctional model had lots of features in a compact design. Don't believe all the glowing reviews. The features all work, but the sound is no better than a 1950's transistor radio. Consequently, any format (CD, Phono, FM, etc.) you play on this sounds tinny with no bass at all. I should have remembered that old saying "You get what you pay for".

This is an attractive item, but it has a few shortcomings. First and foremost, the sound quality is poor and there are no adjustments to bass or treble to make it sound better. The sound is tinny and has background noise of some sort. An illuminated dial provides CD information, but it is not used by the AM/FM radio. As a result, you are not certain what channel the analog radio tuner is on. The owner's manual has a drawing of the front panel controls -- probably the most important information in the manual -- that is about one inch by two inches in size, making it nearly impossible to see what buttons perform what function. Make it bigger! I tried playing a CD and an FM station and was so disappointed with the sound quality, I decided to return it to my store. I'm not sure if it is defective or this is its normal sound. This item is advertised as "Victrola". I ordered it online and it came in a box from ITEC. Best Buy also offers another version under the name "ITEC" that has excellent ratings. I'm confused as to the difference.

Everything works great but the CD player. I recommend if you buy one check everything right away. That is the only flaw. Everything else works.

Very good! Sound is nice. Looks really good! Fun to listen to the old tunes.

It would not play the records- no sound would come out on internal speaker or attached speakers. Tried several records! Very disappointed.

Received as a gift. Radio sounds good but was hoping to use the record player. The turntable is cheap plastic and drags hitting something underneath it making an awful scraping sound. Unable to remedy this my turning the screw. Disappointed on Christmas. Trading up for a Crosley of similar style.

I was so excited to get this as a gift and it has fallen short. I can barely make out the bass in my music. Disappointed.

We made the mistake of waiting a few weeks to try out the turntable, and now can’t return it to Best Buy. Extremely disappointed that the turntable was apparently warped, making an awful scraping sound on every rotation so records are unbearable to listen to. Manufacturer recommended turning the adjustment screw to see if it helped—it didn’t. I hope Victrola will refund, maybe I’ll spend the money on a better stereo system for our family.

This record player skips very frequently, brand new out of the box. Very disappointed

I was a bit disappointed with the sound. I placed the record and I could barely hear any music.

I have ordered this 2x now and both times it starts working then the sound goes out. It does this on the vinyl, CD, and cassette. I am done with this brand.
