Geek Squad's Doorbell Debacle: A Comedy of Errors

Boy, was I wrong! Round one: A San Francisco-based team, new to Nest, turns a quick job into a 2.5-hour movie marathon because they had to watch "how-to" training videos. Spoiler alert: They installed the wrong doorbell. Round two, three weeks later: another SF Geek Squad team, same lack of Nest know-how. This time, they skip a crucial step with the chime puck, short my chime, and almost start a fireworks show on my doorstep by failing to turn off the breaker. Geek Squad's solution? Schedule round three with yet another Geek Squad team. My decision? A refund mission that had me visiting the SF store twice in person, enduring a 90-minute phone marathon, and playing tag with a cast of unhelpful characters at the Geek Squad 800#. Moral of the story: Just hire an electrician, unless you're in it for the drama. PS: Make sure you or your installer uses the chime puck!!

Tech couldnt finish install.

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tech couldn't finish install cause there was not enough power for the door bell. So had to hire another tech from ness to replace the gadget for power and finish install. Tech from Best Buy said he would talk to management and see if I could get my installation fee refunded. No refund. Did not communicate back to me whether manager approved or disapproved. So wasn't sure if he even tried. Tech was pleasant and did apologize for the test the previous guy from Best buy did to get the install scheduled. Just would have been nice if I would have gotten a call or e-mail with the managers decision.
