Customer Service lacking from Installer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping the installer would spend a little time helping us learn how to use the RING doorbell. He was very blunt when he said all he does is the install. We still don't have it set up for my husband's phone and will be calling Geek Squad for help shortly.

A little disappointed

The day of the installation a third party came to my house to install and the first thing the installer said was, this is my first time installing a ring! I paid for the geek squad thinking it would be installed quickly and professionally and I didn’t get that.

Contract Installer. Avoid in Central Texas area.

They sent a trainee with a supervisor that admitted he was also a trainee. They had never installed a Nest Doorbell. Finally after failure they decided to read the instructions. Success! Works almost every time! If you order Geek Squad services make sure you are going to get someone from the real Geek Squad.

Half baked job by installer.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Guy spent 2 hours trying to get the replacement chime to work, then told us the existing doorbell power supply was likely inadequate. Camera works but I have no doorbell now. Will have to hire electrician to finish the job. Online install instructions from Google indicate installer should first check compatibility of existing doorbell voltage. The installer clearly never did it.

Video doorbell install

I was under the impression when I booked the appointment they could do it regardless. So, I ended up hiring an electrician who installed it for me.

No Video Doorbell was every installed or worked on

When I addressed the error with them, they insisted I had this done because their records showed it was completed. I asked what brand is showing in your records. They said no brand was noted just that the install was completed. I told them their records were wrong, and they need to fix it. They insisted if it was in their records it happened and they couldn't update it based on my complaint.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It was not a pleasant experience. Had to argue with the guy about the install of my Ring Doorbell. He said it was incompatible with my doorbell and he didn't have the right parts to attach it to the concrete wall. Looks really stupid where he did attach it. It is out of place and awkward. It was a free install, so I guess I got what I paid for.

Need to work out process when item is defective

Took several phone calls and a trip to the store to work out an exchange and reinstall. When I called the Geek Squad toll free number there was a lot of confusion on how to proceed. One very rude person told me that I needed to deinstall and take to the store myself. Had to go back to the store twice to work it all out. Not good.

Posted .In rare circumstances, some products may be defective right out of the box. This can be frustrating, especially when the device is already installed. Having a simple exchange process available would certainly be beneficial, and I am sorry to learn that things did not go as they should have during that part of the transaction. terrible service model

I spoke to people all over the world who had no interest in helping me.

Terrible Service

BB sold me a 199$ total tech package for the install of a ring doorbell and Echo show. Started on Dec. 16 to get an install date. Every time an appt was scheduled, they would cancel. This took place into Jan. 2022. BB said in Illinois, a third party vendor has to do the install, so basically BB sells a service they have no control over and never communicate that to you at the time of purchase. There were easily 6 appointments made and cancelled all through the holidays, and countless hours on the phone with customer service who solves nothing. Most awful experience with BB and will never purchase another service from them. The worse thing is it also took three visits to the store in addition to all the phone calls. We were promised so much from the store manager in Kildeer, IL and received nothing.

Installed wrong
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They connected it to my existing door bell but the door chime in the house was buzzing so they disconnected it. So when someone rings the doorbell I get a push notification but it doesn't ring in the house. They said I needed a electrician to come and take a look at it because it needed a transformer and that's not something they do. So the electrician comes out and says the reason the door chime was randomly buzzing and going off when connected to power was because the camera draws too much power over the same wire the chime is connected to. He said there's a piece called a Nest Chime Connector that solves the problem and that Best Buy should have installed it. They didn't install and nor leave the piece. The Nest Chime Connectors aren't sold separately so my options are to buy one on ebay and pay an electrician to install it (can't find one on ebay so this option is out), buy a whole new nest camera to get just that piece or disable my doorbell again.

Would not use this company again.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The techs were friendly and seemed knowledgeable about Ring products, but not the Eufy products they were installing. They didn't follow the simple instructions ("Step 3") provided with the products, which included installing 2 jumpers on the transformer. The transformer overheated and started giving off a burning smell. I turned off the breaker to the circuit with the transformer, but it killed the transformer anyway. I am still sitting here with no transformer or working doorbells over a week later and conceivably, this install could have burned down my house if I wasn't here to turn off the breaker. At a minimum, installers should be knowledgeable enough to check whether the amperage draws of the products they are installing are compatible with the equipment they are installing them on.

Was told my contract was not correct and he had to charge me more money. He also casually told me he couldn't do the install because he was too busy. Really good customer relations. I will be attempting to install all. Really nice for a 71 yr old retiree!

Poor Install on my Ring Security Camera

We recently moved into a new home and I purchased all new Ring security cameras and Ring doorbell and had Geek Squad come install it all. After about 6 months, the ring doorbell came loose from the house and when I investigated, Geek Squad installed improperly. They drilled holes in my brick and fastened with wood screws! No plastic insert, nothing. How they thought this would hold amazes me. They also failed to put in a screw to hold the faceplate on the doorbell. I paid a lot for this service to have it put in with such low regards.
