    Installed wrong

    They connected it to my existing door bell but the door chime in the house was buzzing so they disconnected it. So when someone rings the doorbell I get a push notification but it doesn't ring in the house. They said I needed a electrician to come and take a look at it because it needed a transformer and that's not something they do. So the electrician comes out and says the reason the door chime was randomly buzzing and going off when connected to power was because the camera draws too much power over the same wire the chime is connected to. He said there's a piece called a Nest Chime Connector that solves the problem and that Best Buy should have installed it. They didn't install and nor leave the piece. The Nest Chime Connectors aren't sold separately so my options are to buy one on ebay and pay an electrician to install it (can't find one on ebay so this option is out), buy a whole new nest camera to get just that piece or disable my doorbell again.

    Poor Install on my Ring Security Camera

    Very disappointed in Geek Squad. We recently moved into a new home and I purchased all new Ring security cameras and Ring doorbell and had Geek Squad come install it all. After about 6 months, the ring doorbell came loose from the house and when I investigated, Geek Squad installed improperly. They drilled holes in my brick and fastened with wood screws! No plastic insert, nothing. How they thought this would hold amazes me. They also failed to put in a screw to hold the faceplate on the doorbell. I paid a lot for this service to have it put in with such low regards.

    Geek squad contacted me at 9:15. window was 8-12:00. Was told my contract was not correct and he had to charge me more money. He also casually told me he couldn't do the install because he was too busy. Really good customer relations. I will be attempting to install all. Really nice for a 71 yr old retiree!

    Installed my ring camera but no chime

    The ring camera was perfectly mounted in the place were the older one was but it is blocked by the water meter and the installation guy didn't think of moving it. He also didn't hook it up to the chime. Very lazy work

    Later found that the install was flawed

    Initially it seemed that the install was OK, but the ring continued to miss packages that were dropped off. I then found out from Ring that a wedge should have been used during the install and that I should reinstall it. This is disappointing since I paid for the install from Best Buy and they would charge me again to do a second install.

    Coordinating and scheduling for install has been d

    I have scheduled do the item to be installed and it still not installed. I scheduled for the date I able to be there and I get an email telling it is different date or to call and reschedule. Finally had a hard date for installation and the installer calls me and I had to tell him I will need to pick my child from school. It took a little longer than planned and the technician said he can’t wait for another 10-15 minutes because he had to leave to kid his kids from school too! Very displeased with scheduling. I wouldn’t recommend them to use the third party to install if they can avoid it. Scott from Cedar Hill Best Buy on the other hand did an amazing job!

    Very disappointed in the initial appointment. I was to be called before the service tech showed up and they did but i missed the call. They did not leave a message so the Ring doorbell wasn't installed. I was supposed to have the follow up appointment on July 3 between the hours of 7am - 5pm. I called on Fridays June 30 and to my surprise the appointment was somehow changed to July 7. This would not work out and i never agreed to this date as i took 7/3 off from work. During the phone call I was transferred over 4x and on the phone for over an hour. So frustrating!

    I used Geek Squad to install my wired doorbell camera and purchased their protection plan. The installer did not use the wall anchors that came with the camera so it moves freely whenever it is touched. Now the darn thing no longer works and I was told to disconnect it and take it to the store for repair!!! If I knew how to connect/disconnect a wired doorbell camera I wouldn’t have paid Geek Squad to install it! That’s ridiculous. They should send a tech to my house to fix it. I will never pay for that service again!

    I ordered the installation service from Best Buy and had it scheduled for last Thursday. The appointment was cancelled at the last minute by the installed citing weather issues. He said it's a policy to cancel appointments during thunderstorms. Fair enough, but cancelling at the last minute was inconsiderate. Regardless, I looked the other way and rescheduled for Friday. He came out with an associate and in a quick flash had the Nest Hello installed. It worked for all of about 10 minutes before going offline. The installer did no checks to ensure the voltage coming to the doorbell was up to par. They also did not install the chime connector saying it's optional. Every review I've checked has said this step should happen otherwise you can damage your Hello. I tried to reach out to the installer and he has been nothing but dismissive or flat out just not answering me. If these are the types of installers that best buy uses, it's worth it just not dealing with them. Going to seek a refund and doubt I'll get it.

    NOT VERY COMPLETE INSTALL

    INSTALLER CAME WITH WRONG DEVICE, DID NOT CHARGE MY RING DEVICE ENOUGH TO WORK, THEN TOOK OFF WITH THE KEY TOOL TO TAKE COVER OFF SO WE COULD CHARGE THE DOORBELL AFTER HE LEFT. WHEN HE DID DROP OFF NEXT DAY, HE DIDN'T ANNOUNCE HE WAS THER OR FIX THE UNCHARGED DEVICE. JUST LEFT THE KEY ON THE PORCH AND LEFT.

    Nightmare experience. Customer service people from overseas were hard to understand, too much time on hold, elevated the problem to a supervisor with no luck. I needed a doorbell trouble shooter for a chime issue and a Romg camera installed. Experience a NO CALL NO SHOW but had text confirmations they were on their way. NiGHTMARE. I love Geek Squad and prior experiences postoce.

    So terribly disappointed with this process. The first date this was scheduled there was no communication and no one showed up. We waited eight hours for this install when we called to reschedule we were told it would be another week when I escalated to a manager. They scheduled me for three days later. 3 days later came waited eight hours and no one showed with no communication. I called again escalate it again rescheduled again. This time someone showed up performed the job perfectly. I am happy with the job that was provided disappointed that Best Buy services waste at 16 hours of my life.

    Does Not Work as Advertised

    I am not sure if i like the product that much. The install service I received was horrible. The guy couldn't get it to work and recommended me having an electrician come out. I did this and had best buy resend someone out and they sent the same guy. He again passed the buck onto the electrician stating he didn't fix the issue.
