Best Buy Sucks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I regretted buying my house appliances at Best Buy. I ordered a TV, Whirlpool fridge, LG washer and dryer, GE stove and Microwave, and dishwasher and Doorbell installation However, they delivered the fridge around 7.30 PM and said the dishwasher and microwave were said to be damaged. Now, they delivered the stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave but they delivery company won’t install the microwave and dishwasher. I called Best Buy at least 5 times and keep telling me, someone is coming and no one came. I am really disappointed in Best Buy.

Never Contacted Me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This provides a review of my purchases for a “Ring” system: Orbi AC3000 routers (3 units), Ring Doorbell 2, Chime Pro, 2 Floodlight Cams, doorbell install, and home Wi-Fi setup. I will review the individual components which were mostly quite good. However, their merits were masked by systemic weaknesses in the Best Buy system for communications and project management: Communications: I didn’t know the Wi-Fi consultant was scheduled until he called to confirm his appointment the next day. No one from Best Buy ever told me about the schedule for the doorbell install consultant’s schedule so I did the work myself. Project Management: You sold pieces that were supposed to become an integrated system but there was no integration planned for or provided. You don’t have an electrical contractor on staff so the Wi-Fi was installed before the floodlight cams could be tested. This proved to be a small problem, presumably because of the masonry construction of my house.

Nest Doorbell won’t work!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gentleman who came was very polite, on time, and seemed to know what he was doing. However, he could not make my Nest doorbell work. (He was the 2nd Geek Squad person to come to my home for this.) He told me that the problem had to be in the wall wiring and an electrician was needed. Today I had an electrician at my house. He checked all wiring - in the walls, in the doorbell, and in the chime. He determined the problem to be within the small white circular Nest piece that is attached to the chime to make the doorbell work. I am at loose ends as to how to get my doorbell working! The electrician said his company can install a Ring doorbell and will guarantee it will work. Will Best Buy give me a refund if I go with the electrician’s option? Or do you have some other idea to try?

Still waiting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The doorbell has never worked properly, I've had an appointment for the 5th of August which they called and changed to the 12th of August, bo one showed up so it was switched to the 20th of August which again no one showed up, I called and they said they sent an text saying they canceled but my text says they were coming and also received an automated call the night before confirming the appointment, at this point I just want my regular old doorbell restored and working and since I already paid for the ring cloud app guess I'll just have to eat that cost also, very, very, disappointed in this membership plan

Incompatible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Product was as exciting as I thought it might be, with “might” being the optimum. According to the Geek Squad Technician (name w/held) @Scheduled installation, the Ring Video Doorbell was a non-compatible ‘Smart House” Device that wasn’t (in anyway) going to work/interface with the previously installed: Security Alarm, Fire-Sprinkler & Methan Gas Detection w/ intergraded Electronic multi-room Exterior/Interior Intercoms, Doorbells, AM-FM Radio & Audio-CDMusic player, installed 14-15 years ago @construction of my House. Needless to say: that system isn’t just antiquated the components that have now FAILED (no longer functioning) are no longer supported by the Vendor (CVSystems) Point of Sale/Purchase, the Manufacturer (NuTone) is no longer supporting the Technology. Long Story made short: there’s Nothing SMART, Marketing/Recommending products for Purchase that are Engineered for Proprietary use.

Frickin mess
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not sure anyone knew what they were doing Followed instructions for install on their phone. Left a wire bare under the doorbell box inside the house that was not attached to anything and was not caped off. When they left the doorbell ring would not work. Called an electrician to install a mechanical doorbell because the nest installers told us that was what was needed. Doorbell was still not compatible. So for three weeks we have no doorbell and no camera. Worse off than before we started this venture. And how much did we pay for all of this? Thought we hired the Geek squad in the first place and not some random tech group.

One poor experience and one good one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Geek Squad tried to install my Ring doorbell on two separate occasions, but failed both times. The first time the team member didn’t know what he was coming to do, but wasn’t able to install it and didn’t have the correct tools to install it. The second time the team member was able to determine the problem was my previous doorbell operated on DC current and the Ring door bell requires AC current. He told me that he was not authorized to install a new transformer and that I would need to hire an electrician to do that. I had an electrician install a new transformer and was able to get everything working properly.

At this point feel like I wasted my money!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.“Total Support for $200 plus dollars”. Installer showed up to install door bell. He was totally unprepared, and stated the work required was beyond his capability. I informed him that prior to his visit, Best Buy had been out twice before, first visit was the free in home visit, the gentleman took pictures, and stated that he had know idea, as to what needed to be done, and that he was going to send out his technician. About a week later the technician comes out, and looks at the situation for the first time, he stated the job could be done, but was beyond his abilities, and when asked about the pictures he was clueless. The last thing he said was when the installer comes out, there shouldn’t be a problem getting the job done. Needless to say, I still have an uninstalled ring doorbell, which I’m attempting to install myself.

Posted .Connected devices are starting to show up in all aspects of our lives, and home security is a huge category in that field. That said, they often require complex installation, which is something we strive to provide. I am sorry to learn the Geek Squad Agent that was assigned to this job may not have had the skill set to get the work completed, especially after the steps that were taken during the first two visits, in effort to prepare for the install.
If you still require assistance with the installation, I’d invite you to contact our Geek Squad Agents. They are available at (800) GEEKSQUAD, (800) 433-5778, and will be in the best position to ensure this gets straightened out and ultimately resolved.

Great technician, very poor customer service.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I want to state that the actual installation was flawless. We were thrilled with the tech and the outcome. Getting someone to come however was a big hassle. There were mix-ups regarding days that I signed up for and no one showing up etc. Geek squad told me that they would offer me a refund or partial refund on the installation charge. They told me to call back after the installation and when I did, they said they now cannot give me a refund. I just wish they had been honest from the beginning. It caused so much stress for us.

Disappointed customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was not happy with the installation service. They could not install my product because of a wire problem & told me i should get an electrician to fix the problem then call them. My electrician check my wireing and stated that there was nothing wrong. I contacted the installation service they schedule a time when they would be at my home but never showed up. They later told me that they believed it was not compatible after i called them again. I returned the product & cancelled the installation. I also had to pay my electrician.

Worst installation ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Geek agent installed the Nest thermostat in our new home and a/c system. The botched job caused our heating and a/c systems to run simultaneously. This caused the systems to run 24/7 and the temperature in the house was running at 90+ degrees. We were up north but watching temperature constantly rise on app. Called store several times. No one would help. Finally got someone who scheduled a ‘redo install’ 3 weeks out! No emergency service for their mistake! I finally had to call a private service to come and fix Best Buy’s mistake at a $210 cost. Also, electric bill was over $300 because of system running 24/7 for several weeks. Still no response from Best Buy. Completely disgusted with the lack of response or care for their customers. New Best Buy CEO - ever tried to call you but ... of course, no response.

Posted .Thanks for taking the time to upload your review! Getting a new Nest Thermostat should be an exciting time, so we're saddened to hear that your install took this turn. We're also not a fan of temperatures over 90 degrees (or high electric bills), so we can understand why hearing that it would take three-weeks for someone to redo the service would be far from ideal. On behalf of Best Buy, we apologize that you were put in this position. At this point, I recommend calling (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778. Otherwise, you can visit your local store to see if their leadership can step in and provide further assistance.

Failed service call
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The video doorbell was not connected to the chime in my home. I have now requested two service calls. The first call was cancelled and the service agent did not come back on the agreed upon date. I now have anew date for 1/3/25.
