This is a really great show I would recommend it to anyone that is into Viking culture.

Let's see... Vikings, war, booze, sex, blood eagles.. It's a great show.

It is a great show. We are glad we were able to find it and enjoy it.

Ragnar Lothbrok continues to rise in fame and stature. Strained relationships with his brother Rollo, son Bjorn and wife Lagertha are addressed in season 2. The driving force in this must watch series is the performance of Ragnar by actor Travis Fimmel. He's just fantastic. You can't take your eyes off his character. You must watch Season 2 for one particular episode, "Blood Eagle" In this episode the Viking we all love to hate, Jarl Borg (played by Thorbjorn Harr), finally "gets what's coming to him." And boy does he! This episode isn't for those with a weak stomach but man is it good. The dirge-like music, Harr's riveting performance and Fimmel's focus on revenge and justice will keep this one on your mind for a long time.

I jumped on the Vikings bandwagon right before season two came out. I bought season one (awesome) and binge watched it over a weekend. I was going to watch season two as they came out, but life happens and I missed the first few episodes so I waited for it on BluRay. Once I started watching season 2, I couldn't stop. Another binge session and now waiting for season 3. I'll rewatch it again a few times before season three, because, well it's a great series. The only thing that could make it better, would be if it were on HBO or Showtime instead (go watch Game of Thrones or Sparticus and you'll understand why I say this), although Vikings is one you can watch with your kids...for the most part.

Vikings is a period scripted drama set in medieval Europe that follows the Vikings as they leave their home for raids on England and political conflict at home. Wonderful scripts and good character development allows for a well rounded viewing experience. The show itself is a stark contrast to the usual fare available on TV today of vampires, weekly solve the crime police drama and the utter waste land of TV the genre known simply as "Reality TV". If you liked shows such as The Tudors, Reign and the White Queen to name only a few then you will likely be pleasantly surprised and captivated by the offer of "The Vikings". Be sure to view both seasons of the show.

Co-produced by The History Channel & The Discovery Channel, this series shows how the Vikings lived, loved, pillaged, and fought! Is it bloody? Yes, very much so. Does it portray the real life of a Viking? Indeed it does. Showing true, historic aspects of everyday life including religious rituals, mores, and death, that gives the viewer an insight into the most feared (at that time) and unholy plunderers ever to sail the seas! p.s. No horns on their helmets! This is an historically accurate portrayal, not Hollywood's version of that era!

The second season is even better as we continue the upward climb of Ragnar in the hierarchy of this Viking tribe. History Channel has spared no expense for the costumes and locations. The writing is superb with some sense of medieval history and religion included as well the fun dialogue. There are certain themes to each story that build to an even greater end point so you just can't stop watching this show.

I had watched 1st season on air and was excited to pick up the second season on Dvd. The writing for this series is first off first rate. The episodes are good and build on each other. It takes you in completely different directions and always keeps the watchers interested! Cant wait for season 3! Go ahead if you liked season 1 and buy this set. You will not be disappointed, promise!

IT'S LIKE AN AUTO ACCIDENT, I DON'T WANT TO LOOK, BUT I CAN'T RESIST. VISUALLY VERY WELL PRESENTED, COSTUMES, LOCATIONS AND PROPS GREAT. IT MIGHT BE ME, BUT AT TIMES I FOUND IT A BIT HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE SAYING. THIS SEASON TAKES ON THE QUALITIES OF A SOAP OPERA. MANY BATTLE SCENES. PARTS CAN BE VERY VIOLENT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE YOUNGER THAN YOUNG TEENS.

If you don't care to see pools of blood and spattering all about you may want to bypass this show. When not in the midst of such things, I find the characters interesting and the culture as well. Ragnar himself can be a frustrating main character to root for, but often, you do so all the same strangely enough.

You don't know how many times I have walked through the store and looked at the Vikings series on DVD and thought to myself, "Hmmm...I wonder if that's any good." My husband and I finally decided to try it, and we have been completely hooked! We are definitely glad that we decided to give it a try. :)

After watching the first season of Vikings, we were hooked. Great history series that follows rise of the Vikings and their conquests of Europe. Couldn't wait to get the next season and binge watch. Perfect exciting series to pass the time between the super bowl and the start of game of thrones. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

DVDs were supposed to come same day along with season one. However it did not. Season 1 came same day. Season 2 arrived 4 days later. I dont k ow why my order was split up. I did pay for same day delivery. Other than that no problems! Plays great!

I only purchase TV series that come out on DVD after I have seen a few of the episodes as shown on TV. I had already seen Season One of the Vikings. I knew that the acting, the scenery, and the historical basis for the plot lines were incredible. I did not hesitate to purchase Season 2. I was not disappointed with this purchase.
