Ascent containers are sold as dishwasher safe! I bought my blender a month ago, I haven't used it often. However from the first time I washed it, I noticed there was water trapped at the container bottom between the blade and the rubber. I contacted Vitamix because I concerned about the possibility of mold or rust but Vitamix claims this is normal IF the container is placed into a sink of water after blending . In my case it did not happen like that, I just put it into the dishwasher however I decided to follow the instructions they recommended. They recommended me run it for about 1-2 minutes on high speed (it work). And more extra steps just to clean it. Every time I use and wash it, the same thing happens. If you want to remove the water completely you have to disassemble it. Take and consideration removing the retaining nut voids warranty according the manual. So I assume this is a container design defect and it is definitely NOT dishwasher safe. It seems that it is something common according to I read in several reviews. I contacted Best Buy for request a return for a defective item. They didn't want to take responsibility either, the return date ended two days ago so I can't return it. For me it's not worth paying $ 400 for a blender that I have to take apart every time I clean it.

I purchased this to replace a decent Cuisinart blender that died after ~11 years of regular use. I was a little hesitant to buy the Ascent because it is a new model--but rest assured this thing lives up to the hype. Insanely fast, and smooth blending. I don't know why they have higher level models with timers etc...because you have super smooth stuff in just a few seconds. Have used to make frozen desserts, margs, lots of fruit/veg smoothies and all come out great. next level. Looking forward to the smaller bowl sizes when they come available.

Vitamix Blender - Best blender made! The price may be high....but you will not think twice about the price after using it!

Vitamix has been on my wish list for years... so I finally decided to wait no longer. It performs even better than I imagined. Smoothies ( yes, the ice is totally blended!) soups (hot), dough for bread or cookies, and that is just the beginning! If you are trying to decide on Vitamix vs. Any Other Brand the decision is easy.. nothing beats the Vitamix!

Over all I love this blender. The top doesn’t seal as well as I would expect at this price. I have heard such wonderful things about this brand so I was very surprised that this blender sometimes has a difficult time with frozen fruit. Pieces get stuck under the blade causing it to stop completely until you remove the item even with sufficient liquid.

Love this Blender. The base is slightly larger than expected, but it blends my smoothies perfectly and creamy.

Best blender, hands down. This thing does not stop, and it’s easy to clean. Period.

Its quite, blends quickly and durable. Would recommend for beginner's or advanced alike.

Have always thought that Vitamix products were overpriced but after using this item a few times I can see that it well worth the price. It does so much that I wasn’t aware of and had become an instrumental piece of equipment on our kitchen.

If you’re gonna get a blender mind as well get the best that’ll last. Prior to this I had a Breville that constantly leaked. Finally cracked and got the vitamix. No more frustration!

Bought as a gift. I returned it only because I found same the blender with several attachments in a bundle deal for teh same price.

It is a very well-made blender. For the first time I was able to make hummus myself. I just wish it came with attachments included.

I researched all of the blenders out there and saw reviews where this blender was the top of the line. I was worried about the price, but the quality and warranty are well worth it!!

This blender really makes a difference. You can crush ice with ease and also make hot, smooth soup.
