It blends frozen fruit with ice and makes amazing ice cream! Highly recommend this blender. It’s not as loud as I thought it would be for the amount of power you get.

But that's where it ends. Almost everytime I make a smoothy with frozen pineapple, mango, banana chunks and pineapple juice, the blade spins without blending the ingredients. I have to constantly stop the machine and use a spoon to stir everything and restart the process. The Ninja with the multiple blades, did a much better job of blending the ingredients without getting stuck in a "vapor lock", but made grainy smoothies. As for the "self cleaning option", any blender can do that with water and detergent.
