Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the overall performance and power of the Explorian E310 Blender. They appreciate that it is easy to use and that the noise level is minimal. The size is also good for fitting under a cabinet. However, some customers would prefer a removable blade and a container made of a different material than plastic.

The Vitamix Explorian E310 blender is an amazing blender. This little unit has a lot of power and seems to be able to cut through anything with ease. My smoothies are coming out smoother and richer than with my other name brand blender, both are great units but the Vitamix definetly out-performs when it comes to blending power. I also like that the blades will heat up items you are blending after a few+ minutes of blending. This allows you to create a quick hot soup for yourself or a couple people, in under 10 minutes. Creating nut butters will be an added bonus too, I haven't had a chance to do so yet but I hear they work very well for this. There are so many things you can prepare with a Vitamix that you could use it for practically every meal in one way or another. This is my first Vitamix and from what I've seen of other units the overall design is pretty standard and easy to use. The included blending container does move a bit when you blend, it doesn't really click into place or anything, you just line it up with the gear and set it down. however when using at high power, if you are not holding the container, it will shift position slightly then stay somewhat askew to the base. It doesn't seem to give me any problems, even when not held on-to, so I don't really have a problem with it and it may be common for Vitamix unit's, I'm not sure. Overall I am very impressed with the Vitamix Explorian blender and will highly recommend Vitamix over other name brand blenders.

    Hands down...Best blender ever!

This is by far the best and most powerful blender you could ever buy...there is no doubt about it! When you first take it out of the package, I will admit...its not that impressive to look at. Black cube with a dial and 2 switches on it. But once you plug this thing in and turn it on, you will be amazed at how much power it has. I started out just trying to crush a little ice...something that some blenders have a lot of trouble with. Turned it on and literally within seconds it was crushed perfectly. Next I tried a couple smoothies with whole fruits and vegetables. Put a bunch in there, turned the thing up half way, and then slowly proceeded to work my way up to the highest setting. I am fairly certain this blender has more power than some cars. It very easily liquified anything I put in there. Finally, I wanted to try and make some homemade peanut butter. Once again, I was amazed at how quickly it turned a ton of whole nuts into a creamy peanut butter spread. Finally...the cleanup. It couldn't be any easier...put in a little water, a very small amount of dish soap. Turn the thing on, and it cleans itself. Or the manual says you can also pop the container in the dishwasher too. Overall, I don't think there is anything this blender couldn't blend. It has the most powerful motor in any kitchen appliance I have ever seen. The design of it isn't much to look at. But if you need a blender that is going to get the job done time and time again, just click "Add To Cart" right now and don't look back. You will be glad you did!

Not user friendly and no pre-sets. So if you’re a beginner you’ll have to figure out speed & timing. Also the top is also difficult to pull off and container doesn’t fit in the base with ease. Not worth the headache.

    Very Powerful Appliance

I’ve never owned anything quite like this small appliance. It’s like a blender on steroids. It has a very powerful motor that had no problem ripping into raw fruit and vegetables and no problem blending thicker recipes. I was able to make a variety of soups using fresh, raw ingredients like home grown tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, peppers, etc. This Vitamix had no problem pulverizing all the harder ingredients like carrots and even raw peppers with skins. The friction of the spinning blades heats your soup to a nice temperature for eating. Most important is that the soup never reaches a temperature that would cause a loss of nutrients from cooking the raw ingredients at a high temperature. Every recipe we tried came out smooth with no sign of hidden lumps or chunks. All the features worked as expected. I especially liked the lid which has a nifty tamper hole that allows you to add ingredients while it’s running with no blowback or mess. There were only three cons that we could identify…none of which would cause me to downgrade a review rating. First, it is very loud, but I guess it would have to be to do it's a job well. Just know that you’re not going to use this Vitamix after the kids are asleep. Second, the lid leaked just a little around the outer edge when using the Vitamix on thinner liquids. Nothing bad though. Finally, it was not able to completely pulverize raspberry seeds in a thick smoothie. Overall, I can highly recommend this Vitamix E310.

    Worthy of the Vitamix Name

The Vitamix Explorian E-310 is my first venture in what I would call the premium blender market. Is the premium price tag justified? It just may be. My first impression while unboxing this blender was that this thing is built solid. It is a little bulkier than the value blenders and quite a bit heavier. The other thing that stuck out for me was the way the cord stores neatly underneath the base. The E-310 functions are pretty straight forward. There are 2 switches and a dial on the front. One switch is to turn the unit on and the other is for pulse action. The dial is to vary the speed of the blades. After unboxing the unit, I decided to make a smoothie. With our old value blender, it took a bit of work to get everything blended together. I just always assumed that all blenders took a bit of work. Not the Vitamix. The E-310 cut through all the fruit and mixed it up quick and efficiently. I barely had to increase the variable speed. Ice cubes in my old value blender would end up as chips, in the Vitamix, they were barely noticeable. Cleanup was easy as well. The container can be washed in the dishwasher, but we chose to use the process on page 6 of the manual. Basically, we put water and a couple drops of dishwasher soap in the container, turned the unit on, varied the speed from 1 to 10 and back down again. This cleaned the unit up quite nicely. In my old value blender, I had to unscrew the base, clean up the blades, and clean up the gasket material. The Vitamix's sealed system makes cleanup very easy. Volume level for this kind of performance was quite surprising. For being a more powerful device, the Vitamix is actually quieter than my value blender. The only thing I'm disappointed in, is that the container is so small. It's fine for two people, but it doesn't have the capacity for a family. Not much else to say about the Vitamix Explorian E-310. It blends well and is definitely worthy of the Vitamix name.

The Vitamix Explorian Series E310 Blender is a flexible, easy to use blender with a very powerful motor. It is very simple to use and maintain and is a very well respected brand of home and professional blenders. It comes with a 48 oz container that is simple to read and keep clean. The front only has three control options. There is a pulse options of the variable speed setting, a variable speed dial with 10 speeds and a on and off switch. For its size it will take up a good bit of your counter space. But if you are a person who uses a blender a lot this is the type of unit that will provide daily service. I would not say it is an attractive unit but if function follows form it makes it clear on first look it is a high quality appliance. You can spend much less for a blender so this is a purchase for those that really need this level of performance. I can say it delivers for either the professional or amateur chief.

I considered buying a Vitamix a few years ago and went with a higher end general brand. It worked OK but I was looking for something that would really blend and make great smoothies. The Vitamix presents like a commercial blender. It is durable, easy to manipulate and performs extremely well. It doesn't bog down and has the power it needs to get the job done. It is variable speed so you are not locked into preset speeds. My smoothies came out great. One way I always test a blender is how it pulverizes ice. The Vitamix passed the test and makes snow cones or margaritas with ease. I won't use anything else after using this. It's worth it for sure.

Vitamin are known for powerful blenders, and this is no exception The blender produces a very strong blend on items like fruit for smoothies, and ice for drinks. I have yet to find anything that it can not power through All this, with a decent amount of noise What is missing is all of the "bells and whistles" that are totally unnecessary, makes the unit break faster, and only adds to the price It you are looking for a top quality blender, that will stop at nothing, and feels like it will last long enough to pass on to your kids, then spend a little more and step up to this one - I am glad that I did

Blends quietly and thoroughly, but made of plastic

I was very excited to receive this blender since I was no longer happy with my Black & Decker blender. Even though my previous blender was made of quality materials, such as a solid metal base and glass canister, it was very loud and it would take a lot of shaking/stirring to ensure the ice was completely crushed. The Vitamix Explorian Series blender solved this problem. Operation I have only made smoothies with this blender so far, so I won’t be able to review its soup making abilities. I have made frozen coffee and banana smoothies and was amazed at how well this blender crushed the ice and how quiet it was. I did not even have to tap the canister or use the tamper. I am a little puzzled why this blender has an on/off switch, since you are supposed to start the blender at the lowest setting and gradually increase the speed. It just adds one extra step when slowing the blender down to then turn it off. I would prefer for the dial to start at zero and gradually increase the speed from there. Fit and finish I was mostly disappointed in the quality of materials Vitamix decided to use on this blender. For such a premium product, I would expect a metal blender and glass canister, but the base and canister/lid is made of plastic and rubber. I was also disappointed in the use of rubber hooks on each side of the canister to hold the lid in place. I’d prefer to be able to remove the lid with one hand, and despite the two hooks, the lid is not watertight. I should mention that the canister sits on the base without any mechanism to hold it in place, requiring a hand to hold the canister down. I did not find this to be a problem since the blender crushed the ice so quickly. Cleaning I liked the multiple options to clean the canister and blades. First, the canister is not to be dismantled, which really speeds up the cleaning process. Second, there are 3 options to clean the canister: hand washing, washing in the dishwasher, or washing on the base. Since the replacement canisters are so pricey and dishwashers seem to age plastic quickly, I chose to hand wash this canister. I was not sure how well the blender would clean the canister on the base, so I did not even try that. Pros Quiet operation Multiple ways to clean canister Powerful without creating “air pockets” during operation Cons Plastic canister Rubber hooks to hold down lid Unnecessary on/off switch I would recommend this blender to anyone who wants a quiet, powerful blender. Even though I criticize the company for using flimsy materials, I applaud them on the superior engineering. This has been the best blender I have used, just not the best looking.

    Beast!

This blender is a replacement for my 15 year old GE model which has finally started to fall apart. The first thing that you are going to notice is that the Vitamix is a beast! It is large and heavy and has a motor that just won't quit. I really like the controls - they are minimal and pretty intuitive. The carafe is generously sized and the lid is cleverly designed. The downsides - the blades are integrated with the carafe and cannot be removed. This can make clean-up a little more difficult but also assures that you aren't going to spring a leak! Also, the lid fits pretty tightly and has a pair of rubber hooks that engage to give a VERY tight fit. The same is true of the "port" in the lid that you use to add ingredients while blending or to insert the stirring rod. My wife actually has difficulty getting the lid to come off at times. We also encountered a frequent need to "burp" whatever we were blending as the unit easily gets air trapped around the blades and that causes the ingredients to cease circulating. We really haven't found anything that this unit cannot grind up and the motor is smooth and fast; no lack of power here. In summary, the Vitamix feels more like a professional design than a consumer unit and in this age of lightweight, flimsy designs is a welcome addition to our kitchen.

This blender is smaller than the original model that most people buy, but the that is probably why the price tag is not as large. However, that doesn't mean that it doesn't do as good a job. Smoothies have turned out at the same level as you would expect to receive from chain smoothie shops (considering many of them use the same brand albeit not the same model, it's still not surprising). Even though it's smaller, it's still easy to clean the pitcher. The blender I replaced had a design that made it extremely difficult to clean on a regular basis, and it provides the option to separate the blades from the carafe. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try a Vitamix blender, but doesn't want to shell out the full $500 tag for the original.

My blender of three years sputtered and died recently, and I was in the market for a new one. I've always used the economical blenders that simply got the job done. My old blender would leave small chunks of fruit and veggies unblended resulting in smoothies and shakes that just barely met my standard. Needless to say I was glad to be rid of the old blender and I was ready to try a more premium offering. I did not know what to expect when I received the Vitamix Explorian E310 blender for I was under the misguided impression that blenders were all the same – after all, they did the same job of simply chopping/grinding/blending food really quickly into a mixture. The Vitamix Explorian did the job, but it did it faster, more effortlessly, and more efficiently than I had ever known using my previous blender. Smoothies were well mixed and homogeneous. There were no leftover chunks of fruits/veggies in the mix. I was also pleasantly surprised with how effortlessly the Vitamix Explorian handled the blending job. It never once strained or hesitated when blending through frozen fruits and ice. My old blender would be vibrating and making some serious grinding noises as it tried to cut through hard material. The Vitamix, however, did it with such ease that I initially thought something was wrong when I did not hear loud grinding noises. I was shocked to find that it had already blended through the frozen fruit without the least bit of effort. This thing is seriously a high performance blender. The blender comes with the base unit, the container with lid, a tamper rod to push the food contents around the container, the user manual, and a basic blending recipe book. One thing to note, in case anyone is wondering, is that the 48 oz. (6 cups) container is constructed of plastic not glass. Here are the pros about this blender: 1. Powerful 12 amp motor that will make difficult blending jobs a breeze 2. The variable speed dial, the on/off switch, and pulse switch are large so they're easy to find, control, and press. (My previous blender had small buttons which annoyed me as I sometimes ended up accidentally pressing the wrong button.) 3. Very good build quality. The base unit is heavy with a hard exterior plastic shell. The power cord is thick and well insulated and appears to be of the same quality of those found on power tools. 4. Compared to my old blender (it was not a Vitamix), the Vitamix is noticeably quieter at all speed settings. 5.Clean up is easy. Just put the container in your dishwasher. 6. A very good 5 year warranty. 7. And the best thing of all, the Vitamix blender is engineered and assembled in the good old U.S.A. Kudos to Vitamix. The only con I can think of would be the cost of the Vitamix blender. It is by no means cheap, but given that I have now personally experienced the better quality of the blender in terms of more refined texture and homogeneity of mixture along with greater efficiency, I think it is worth the price. Add in the peace of mind of a five year warranty, and you have a have a product with good value.

Man, I never thought that I'd fall in love with a blender. This thing packs a punch. Only 3 buttons, (which I thought was strange) but that's all that's needed. There's a dial on the front that goes from 1 to 10. I'm thinking I'll never have to turn it all the way to 10 because it's just so darn powerful. I whipped up some mangos, apples, pineapples, bananas and it liquefied them in seconds. I can't wait to try other things with this blender. Easy to clean. Bigger than what I thought it was so storage may be a challenge but the performance outweighs that small problem.

My current blender has been in service for nearly a decade. It's done a great job, handled tough jobs without overheating like the cheap blenders I've had previously. For almost everything I've needed, it's done it well. It's a bit noisy, but that's what one gets with a powerful blender. . right? Wrong. The Vitamix Explorian shows you can be powerful while being quiet. The design is pretty good. Like any high end blender, it looks well in any kitchen. No extra points here. The blending cup is a bit on the small side, just barely 6 cups compared to 9-10 cup competitors. It also doesn't have some safety features - like an interlock on operating the blades if the cover isn't secured. However, where the Explorian shines is in it's power and control it gives the user to deliver it. It has the normal pulse button and 10 speed/power modes. These allow me to completely liquify ice, beans, and other items that my previous blender would struggle to complete. It really opens up another avenue of usability, to know that even "hard" foods are no match. The Explorian can serve double duty in kitchens that typically would reserve such duties for a food processor. I'm quite pleased with the Explorian. It seems I've found a new partner for the next decade.

A Workhorse of a Blender - a HIGH END BLENDER

When it comes to the ultimate workhorse, the first name that comes to mind is the Vitamix family of blenders. They are the types of machines that gets passed down from family member to family member - generation to generation in most cases. A 5-year warranty for a blender? Almost unheard of - except if it is a Vitamix. Operation is pretty straightforward and easy: an on/off switch, variable speed dial (10 speeds) and pulse selection. Legacy Vitamix Containers - Legacy (C Series and G Series) containers will work with the Explorian blender base. A 20 ounce cup can be used when paired with the Vitamix Personal Cup Adapter. It comes with a tamper and a blade scraper as well as a container. No other blender is ready to work the way a Vitamix, so they give you the tools to handle the job other blenders can. I come from a house where blenders were frequently used over the years, and I continue to do so. While this is not the high-end Vitamix that makes hot soups, it certainly is going to be the only blender you are ever going to buy in your life because it well built, well backed by a premium company and you will have accessories to pick from.
