The sound from this soundbar is very good and the four preset EQs (dialogue, movie, sports, music) are great. I connected it via the HDMI ARC port (the HDMI cable was included which is huge PLUS) and it was easy. Set up was pretty easy as well. I hooked it to a Samsung 4K set and I only had to switch the audio out to the Vizio bar. BUT, the reason I am only giving it 4 stars is there was NO USER GUIDE at all and the ones online are, too be honest, crap. I still don't understand some of the controls on the remote, but what the hell, it does the job, i.e., it greatly improves the sound quality. We've owned this 4K Samsung 4K set since Christmas Eve (when our previous Samsung bit the dust). THAT one was hooked to a Polk soundbar and right now it's a toss up which was better (the Polk ran through an optical cable input but since this new Samsung had a spare HDMI port, I used the included HDMI input). All in all I'm very pleased. I like the relatively small size of the soundbar (it's a better fit than the Polk was for our small space) and since my wife hates sub-woofers, it's not an issue that this one doesn't come with one. Especially, for the money, it's a steal. But I sure wish a user guide had been included.

I wasn't expecting much when I got this, just something to replace my old Yamaha sound bar but I was very surprised! This is so much better than the Yamaha sound bar I had, the volume is much louder, the bass is full, the clarity is exceptional for music, movies, or gaming. I love that I don't need another remote to control the sound bar, the one that came with my TV does is all after doing a quick setup on the TV options menu. Anyway, I love this thing. I wasn't expecting much but I got a great soundbar for the home and continue to be pleased with it after over a year.

This is a good sound bar. I have it in my bedroom. Normally i have a full subwoofer, soundbar, and 2 rear speaker set ups on my tvs. I was looking for something loud and had a little bit lf bass to bring out the sound when watching tv in bed. This does the trick! Has plenty of bass and you cna really hear rhe highs, mids and lows with this. It makes everything better. I woud not make this my main sound bar for playing games or watching movies but for a bedroom or guest room its awesome! It really packs a punch for the size and price!

I'm an editor and I wanted a low profile speaker for when I edit my videos and consume media when I'm not working. I normally have desktop speakers, but with my new desk setup I didn't have space for that type of speaker. I needed something to be placed under my monitor - I've tried other sound bars. I already own a VIZIO sound system for my TV in the living room and I really do like the sound it produces. It's no to bass heavy like Bose, and it's just way way more affordable. I like this sound bar so much, I've shared it with other editors and they like the form factor as well. Sleek, minimal, great sound, and discreet. To clarify, I normally edit with headphones - but this sound bar allows me to give my head and ears a break and doesn't take a lot of space like other speaker systems. In my opinion it plays plenty loud, since it's only 18-20 inches from my face. I don't play it louder than 1.5-3 dots.

Not a bad buy, sounds great and is has a decent range of volume without too much distortion on the high end. Great for a bedroom TV or other small room. Easy to set up especially if your TV supports ARC.

Great soundbar. Plenty loud and plenty of bass. The best part is the sound bar can be progammed to accept the TV's remote if necessary. I have it working with an older Samsung TV remote, Roku remote, and a Dish remote. Also, you don't have to have a separate subwoofer.

This soundbar was easy to install. The bass, treble, and equalizer are very pleasing to my ears...much better than just the tv speaks themselves. I could definitely tell a difference in the sound. Also, it was small enough for me to lay it on top of my entertainment center in front of my flat screen tv and still look nice. I was also able to link it into my Comcast Cable remote. I am one very pleased customer!

Bought this for my mother to aid in volume and clarity. Her TV is an older Vizio so the sound isn't the best coming from her TV speakers. This little sound bar packs a bit of punch when it comes to volume. It's more than enough for a bedroom and the clarity and bass that comes from this unit was more than enough. Would definitely recommend to anyone who just wants a boost in the volume and bass department.

We purchased the Vizio V20-J8 sound bar to enhance the sound of the 55" TV in our den. It delivers clear, crisp sound and adds spatial dimension to whatever source you're watching. Bass is a bit flat in some cases as it does not include a subwoofer and does not have a sub out as some other Vizio sound bars have. Although not highest quality cables, it does include whatever you need to hookup to your TV including an HDMI ARC cable. The remote is compact and is used to adjust sound, DTX and EQ settings. Also includes wall mounting brackets and has Bluetooth capability. Overall room filling sound made this a good choice for us.

Great sound quality. Good bass for a single sound bar. Easy to hook up. Fits well because it is rather small. Packs a punch. We're happy with it for movies and tunes in a bedroom.

We purchased this to go with a 32 in Visio Smart TV. Really improve the sound quality. I was immediately recognized when using the HDMI arc cable. Also easy to stream music from phone with bluetooth. Great unit for the price.

Great little speaker. Very easy set up and the bass sounds very good through it. Used on the road as a truck driver and it cut through the sound of other trucks running while I'm watching TV. Now it is used in the bedroom and does very well covering the room in a clear depthy sound.

Smaller-sized soundbar that is perfect for smaller TV's. The sound and bass response is good! Bluetooth playback was clear and the EQ options are a plus. Only issue I noted is the remote has similar codes as my Fire TV (Insignia) which creates confusion. Looking for an all-in-one remote as a workaround but overall, it gets the job done.
