I'm a av guy by trade and a snob. Got this for spare bedroom.to try it out put next to my 800$ sound bar and my wife says sounds better. This 140$ soundbar rivals my much more expensive one. Even includes a cool led remote. You won't find a better sounding sound bar under 200$. It connects with optical and arc. Aux and rca.this can be used on 20 year old tvs. Very cool

Let me first say, I am NOT an audiophile. I purchased a Sony TV and a Sony 2.1 soundbar with an integrated subwoofer. While the sound was better than the TV alone, I could not appreciate the feeling of surround sound or any enhanced base. I returned that soundbar and purchased this one instead. I can appreciate the enhanced sound and I can now feel the bass! I also like the fact that this sound bar comes with the HDMI, optical and audio cables so you can hook it up to various things. Having the HDMI ARC capabilities lets me control the soundbar volume with my TV remote and I really appreciate that capability. Finally, I received a Best Buy Beta member discount so this soundbar was the same price as the one I returned - score!

It was everything I wanted and more. If you like bass you will love this sound bar. It was easy to set up. The remote has several sound features and an eq. Last but not least it comes with all the cords you need to hook it to your smart tv or you can just bluetooth it to your smart phone for music. Quality sound & equipment at an excellent value. Thank you vizio!

Can this compete with $500+ bars or sound systems? Probably not. But when I was sampling different sound bars in-store, this one outperformed plenty of the $200-$400 range, making this a no-brainer pick. The $120 price tag for Black Friday/Cyber Week makes this a "don't hesitate just buy it!!" item if you've been thinking about a straightforward upgrade to your home audio. It's easy to use, has a variety of ways to connect to different devices, and sounds great no matter what I'm listening to or watching (the news, podcasts, music, video games, television, movies, etc.) or what device (my TV or my iPhone) I'm using.

This is a decent soundbar and subwoofer setup, especially for the money. The subwoofer and soundbar are easy to setup. The sub sounds nice and fills in those lower frequencies and creates a more immersive theater experience. Here are some problems that I have run into in the couple of years I have owned it. First, the sound bar occasionally glitches out and won’t connect and play any sound. Resetting the bar has always solved these problems but it’s guaranteed to make you worry the first few times it happens. Second, don’t lose the remote. The only way to change the audio settings is with the remote. The sound bar does not have technology to aid in balancing the dialogue with the loud action sequences. For that you are going to need to get a more expensive setup. I often find myself turning the volume up during dialogue heavy moments and then turning the volume down during action sequences. It can be a bit frustrating. I usually leave the preset EQ setting on the most dialog friendly setting (I forget what it’s called off the top of my head). All in all I think it’s a good entry level setup. If you want Dolby Atmos sound you’re going to want/need to spend more money. You can occasionally find smoking deals at Best Buy and find a $400 sound bar for half off. If you are patient and not in a rush, that’s what I would do if I had it to do over again.

Purchased this to replace my Samsung 500 series 2.1-channel soundbar which had issues after one year and never sounded the same. Compared to my Samsung 500, the Vizio V-Series blows it away and is super clear, louder, ridiculous bass, and several hundred dollars cheaper! I highly recommend this sound bar so much that I even bought a second one for my bedroom!

Amazing value for what you pay, awesome sound for it’s size. I have a older 5 year old Vizio 2.1 sound bar that this is replacing, and they have improved the functionality a lot as well as upgraded sound. The added HDMI ARC control makes everything so much easier, no need for additional remotes or remote programming. The sound bar just becomes an extension of the TV. Also the sound bar switches inputs automatically, my previous one did not, and I would always have to look manual to see which input the lights would indicate was active. This V-21 not only detects but also gives you a verbal feedback which is very helpful. I purchased an “open box” one, so the price was even sweeter. It was in perfect “like new” condition. Only thing I had issue with is that the HDMI cable that came with it was bad. It had trouble linking up with the TV, i.e. no sound, so I would have to unplug and plug back in HDMI cable to get it to work. I have like 10 extra HDMI cable lying around, and different cable that fixed it easily enough. Not enough trouble to bother returning the sound bar. The old sound still works very well, so I was a little reluctant to replace it. I was always little annoyed I had to adjust the sound level with a separate remote (my TV is a TCL Roku TV, and the remote doesn’t control other non-Roku devices). The “open box” price made this way too good of a deal to pass on, and I’m so happy that I got it.

I've used this soundbar for about a month. Observations: For the price ($120), the sound is great. Not 5.1, but very good balance sound. The woofer connected perfectly every time. I tried it in several places and found that near the TV was best. I had no problem hearing voices unless the program was very poorly sound edited. There is a sound setting on the soundbar to allow the voices to be more clear. I found this setting made the sound tinny and artificial. It works but is only useful on talk shows. I strongly recommend getting the remote with the digital display. It is included in the unit with an R at the end of the model #. The LCD display is necessary to navigate the settings on the sound bar. I found the various sound adjustment setting to basically have minimal impact. So, I simply use it on a normal setting. All the cables necessary were in the box. I tried optical connection first but found that the issues controlling the soundbar without using the Visio remote were practically impossible. I tried to program two different remotes and I only got the mute button to work. So that was frustrating. Overall, ditch the remotes and go HDMI-ARC. Works flawlessly every time with no programming. I did need the HDMI included in the box to use this feature. Apparently, not all HDMI cables are capable of this function. BTW, this setting disables all sound adjustments on the TV. Overall, good sound for little money.

Couldn't afford not to buy this soundbar to match my 55" Vizio TV for my bedroom. Unbelievable price that also puts out great bass, is incredibly easy to set up and sync, and the quality of dialog, which was missing in my Sonas soundbar, is better than my high-end Samsung soundbar in my living room, Strongly recommend this product.

I have a Vizio M558-G1 television, and while it's a great tv, the internal speakers are pretty tiny and face backwards into your wall. I was having a lot of trouble understanding dialogue in movies and such, so finally decided I would get a small sound bar to boost the quality a bit. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and a 5.1 system seemed like overkill, but the idea of a subwoofer and better bass sounded appealing, and this model had good reviews around the internet. Set-up wasn't too bad. I used the optical cable instead of the HDMI ARC since I have a lot of devices feeding into my tv and wanted them all to be able to use the sound bar. At first it wouldn't output any sound, even after changing my tv settings to PCM, but once I disabled the internal tv speakers through the settings and actually started playing a video (instead of just trying to listen for the little menu sounds on my Xbox dashboard), the sound bar kicked in and ironed itself out. The sound quality is fantastic. Way, way better than I was expecting for the price. Had to test it with some Star Wars, and as cliché as it sounds, I actually felt like I was in the movie theater. I placed the subwoofer next to my couch in the corner of the room, and despite its size, you can really feel it. Feel like I got my money's worth and then some.

This replaced a Denon sound bar is is so much better and 1/2 the price. Setup is straightforward though you do not have the ability to route hdmi in and out of the unit, which we could do with our Denon. Can't beat the sound at this price point. Remote for setting up the unit is great once you get the hang of the menus.

This was a great decision. I'm using this sound bar for my desktop speaker and it was a great purchase. I have the sound bar sitting under dual 32 inch monitors on a lift desk and I'm pleased with its performance. The sound is at ear level and the wireless subwoofer made it a simple choice as I don't have to worry about having a connection wire when I raise the desk. The sound is clean and clear and I have it tuned for my liking. The subwoofer is cranked up and puts out a good thump and isn't muddy. Its been a pleasant surprise and really doesn't take up a lot of room like traditional desktop speakers do. I have it connected via Bluetooth so my wire connection is minimal and it's all black so it stand out. I was ready to purchase a Nakamichi 7.2.4 at a 1000.00. This is a great buy.

Dont look elsewhere for a sub 200 or even 300 2.1 system. Crisp highs and clear mids with more than adequate bass for a small living room. Music sounds great too. EQ and dialogue settings can be adjusted too. Waaaayyy better than the new Bose 'TV soundbar' for 250. And $100 cheaper!

Oh my god, where do I start from. At first I was just confused like, "Should I even get a soundbar? Is it even necessary?" But then I was like f it, I'm just gonna get it. I wanted a sound system for my TV and since it had bluetooth as well, I could just use it to put music in my room and chill. Now lemme tell you, I don't regret buying it one bit. The sound quality and the bass of that little subwoofer is INSANE. Now you might have been put-off by that word "little" but the power of bass it packs is crazy - and better yet, you can put that subwoofer literally anywhere in the room since it's wireless (you just need to plug the power cable) and it'll give the same effect regardless of the place you choose to put it in your room. It gives your room that home theater vibe and songs on this speaker just sound different. Go for it.
