    Don't waist your time

I purchased on a Friday. Looked good in the store and picture was nice crisp and clear. Got it home, easy set up. I run the cable straight from the wall, no box. It's for the bedroom and gets about two hours of play, no big deal. I had read the sound was "tinning" but had also read that with the right sound adjustments that could be modified. Once the picture and sound came together it was an utter disaster. The sound is very, very tinning and no amount of sound adjustments could fix it. The picture was intolerable. Fuzzy, shadowy, it just didnt clear up and when I did attached the digital cable box, it got better but still not the picture it should have had. I tried Friday night and Saturday to work on the picture and the sound, to no avail. As I listened to the program it seemed that the tin can sound was gone but after doing the turn it off, turn it on test; the t.v. jumped back into the can. Finally I had enough and headed out Sunday morning and picked up a Sanyo FW24E05T 24" LED. Straight out of the box, cable connected from the wall, $30 cheaper and IT ROCKED straight out of the box. I didn't need to adjust anything. One more thing, the remote. The buttons are minescule on the Vizio remote, think chicklets turned on their sides. You can't see the buttons and in the dark, forget about it. The Sanyo, now that's a real remote control. Long story short, purchased Vizio on Friday, fought with it on Saturday, threw in towel, purchased a better less expensive t.v. and took that Vizio back to Bestbuy on Sunday. I don't usually write reviews but this experience deserved one. I'm not a whiner, I'm mechanically inclined, and technically savvy but even I had to walk away from his one.

Great Value not so good picture

This HDTV has a lot of features not normally found at this price range. All the Internet apps work just fine as does the Wi-Fi and the preferred cable connection. The sound quality is so-so, but it does have an optical output to connect a better sound system. My biggest complaint is the color quality. It took me many hours to get it close using the Eye Ball method. It’s hard to justify the calibration cost, because that is way more than the cost of this HDTV. My challenge was the black colors – the hardest to calibrate. I’m using an antenna and HDMI to a PC. Many OTA broadcasts that have a dark scene are almost unwatchable. The odd thing is Netflix can have this same issue. The problem is this HDTV does not have very good color rendering – especially black. I just about took it back and switch to a more expensive HDTV because of this color issue. I use this in my small bedroom. Most OTA and PC video content is fine enough for a small room. Viewing angle isn’t all that great, better have a straight viewing angle. You’ll crank up the backlight to get the black to show some detail, but this will also cause edge lighting. In some cases, you’ll crank up the brightness too. This is only an issue when your viewing content has dark scenes. This HDTV has a lot of color variables to work with, and I used them all. It really has the capability to be a fine performing HDTV. You’ll spend many an hour with the “calibrate” and “calibrate professional” viewing modes adjusting the various color parameters. The color rendering issue aside, the HDTV preforms as expected.

Very light weight. I get HDTV reception right off my amplified "rabbit ears." Love this TV. I bought it and a 5 year warranty for $200. Best investment ever.

Bought this mainly to use as a computer monitor and sometimes a tv. It looks so good as a computer monitor. Much better than i expected. The smart tv features are nice, haven't really used them too much though. Great picture modes and menus. Wish it had an extra hdmi input or two though...

    Great TV, however

So far so good with the second one of these I purchased from Best Buy .Perfect for the kitchen and love the internet connection. The sale price was good and the LED - LCD picture is excellent. The first one of these I purchased from Best Buy had a defective picture. When you first turn on the set, the entire picture had an all over green color, but only lasted about five seconds and then would clear up. I could have live with this, however the next day after the limited warranty expired, you know the picture would stay green. For this reason I returned the TV to Best Buy for an exchange. I wanted the exact same model and they were really great. Bust Buy exchanged it no problems at all. So far, so good and the many reviews on this same model are excellent.

    Hated it

I bought this tv to use in our home office. I was torn between this one and the same sized samsung. I decided on this one as it was 1080p and it was a "smart tv". The only thing I liked was the built in apps (which worked great). Unfortunately, everything else sucked. The colors were off, scenes with motions sucked, the brightness was pathetic, etc. I ended up returning the tv the next day and getting the 24 inch samsung. NIGHT and DAY difference.

Good price for the product. Still learning how to set up. Would have been nice to have extra HDMI. Sound is not as good as prior tv, or may be I just haven't gotten use to it.

This was a Christmas Gift to my Boyfriends Father, we have a 32" of the same TV but the Internet Connections on this one refused to connect, it was a manufacture error supposedly, we returned it and got another 32" for him. It connected at first but now it doesn't even work if you wanna connect to the internet for Netflix or Hulu. We only have Netflix and Hulu we don't pay for cable.

Great Smart TV for Personal Viewing

Love watching Netflix and Amazon Prime subscriptions on this smart TV. It's the perfect size for watching on my dresser drawers right across from my bed and sitting chair in my room. I wouldn't recommend it for a large living room, but does super well for personal viewing in a bed room, office, or space that isn't more than 10 feet away from the viewer.

    Buyer Beware!

I already own 2 Samsung Smart TV's and I love them but I wanted a much smaller tv for my deck. This Vizio Smart Tv was purchased as an "open box" which meant someone else bought it and returned it - there was nothing wrong with it. Actually the picture is quite good and the menu is easy! However, the range for the wireless connection in the TV has to be the lowest I've ever encountered. I have a small approx. 1000 sq. ft. house and the TV's wireless connection wouldn't work on my deck. I suggest doing a Google Search on this TV and don't forget to add "wireless issues" along with the search. I wish I had before I bought it. Anyway, I had to buy a wireless extender and override the DNS settings in the TV before I could finally get it to work. It took a lot of research to finally figure all that out. I'd have returned the TV but Best Buy only gives 15 days to return things which is totally insane. 30 days is commonplace for most things! Stay away from this brand and buy a Samsung instead!

This TV is easy to connect to the Internet and the home wireless network. It even connects to your NAS storage device to stream movies and videos. Great TV and can't beat the price.

    So-So Picture Quality

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I couldn't believe how bad the picture quality was out of the box. Changing the picture settings from the default to calibrated helped as did turning off the automated brightness control and adjusting most of the other picture controls. I don't think my expectations were out of line. I thought it should have been similar to or better than the 4 year old 23" Samsung, it replaced. Consequently, I was surprised on how much worse it was. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything under 32" except this model that offers 1080p. If any other set offered 1080P, I would probably return this in a minute. Note, outside of the picture, the Internet functionality with Netflix and Amazon is great. I also like the low setting stand that doesn't cover a cable box heating vents if you put the TV on top.

If you are really considering buying a Visio, google "visio problem restarting" or "visio problem shutting off" first. There is a HUGE backlog of people having this same exact problem across all of their model lines. Sometimes you get lucky and you never see the problem, or maybe its just a matter of time. as for me, I never read the reviews, I figured it was a nice but cheap second monitor for my desk that could double as a tv, and i was right, for about 5 months. All of a sudden it starts shutting itself off; I struggled for 15 min just to get to the timer section of the menu to make sure there wasnt some auto timer shut off, all the while it kept shutting off while i was trying. Even on their facebook page there are comments of tons of people mentioning this problem or telling stories of calling in - multiple people mind you - and having Visio saying it was an "Unknown Problem" or even that it must be a "local problem" because they couldnt seem to connect the dots. I dont know how Visio is getting away with this, but i say just stay away and save yourself the pain.
