Decent TV but terrible smell

Made the room stink of toxic plastic fumes, had to set it out in the hot sun for a few days to make it better but still kind of smells. Would not purchase again unless it was a floor model that had already off gassed.

Posted .Hi Zwingli, New televisions may produce an unusual smell or odor when first turned on. This is due in part to the manufacturing process of components. Some of the electronic components are "coated" to prevent corrosion during their journey from the manufacturer to the home. When those components heat up for the first couple of times, depending on how long you leave the device on, an odor can occur. This smell is not harmful to your health and it will dissipate usually between 10 days and 2 weeks and not return. This is normal and occurs with virtually all consumer electronics.

Have turned off, disconnected then on again. Using BACK button HOME button doesn't help. Lost YOU TUBE TV connection, went to HULU. No problems with my 1 other TV. No gaming system. Will contact mfg.

We paired this with an AppleTV (we've cut the Cable cord and have 5 AppleTVs around the house now). It has two HDMI ports so we can add another device if we need to. It has a good image quality, and overall is a great buy. Just one thing, be aware that it is VERY light, so either wall-mount it or stand it on something where you're not likely to knock it off by accident!
