WiFi never worked out of the box

Nice pic, easy to setup. I think the E-series must stand for ECONOMY. The WiFi never worked out of the box, of course I waited a few weeks to test it and Best Buy's policy didn't allow me to return the item. Luckily Vizio is going to send me a replacement and or refund........

    What's wrong with this picture?

Actually the picture is good once you turn off Film mode and Backlight Control in setup. The Wi-Fi is very weak, I have to put the TV in the same room as the router to view internet videos without stopping 50% of the time. Will end up running a cat5 cable. The TV smart menu didn't work as the manual so I called support who had me unplug the tv and hold the on/off button for 30 seconds. Surprisingly after plugging back in and turning on the smart menu worked as described in the manual. The Wi-Fi was just too slow to be of any use. The download speed shows as about 600-1100 kbps. So I used speedtest.net with my iPad to test the download and WI-Fi with the iPad, which was about 6-10 mbps in the same room. My conclusion is that the Vizio Wi-Fi reception is weak. I purchased this model because it was the only 28" smart TV in the store. 32" is too big for the room. I would like to know if other brands of smart TV have better Wi-Fi but I will keep this one. The other reason I bought the Vizio 28" is that the speakers are on the front instead of the bottom so I hoped the sound would be good. Which it is for a small TV. Oh yeah, the buttons on the control are impossibly small.

    This time Vizio failed!

I own three Vizio TVs, and all were great. I bought the 28", and found that it failed. A beautiful picture that faded dark every few seconds, then brightened, and the darkened again. VIZIO tech support could not solve problem. COSTCO concierge service did not solve problem either. So I made a quick-easy return to COSTCO. Then I ordered another one, and d--m if it didn't do the same thing! My 24" and my 32" work fine - maybe there is a design flaw in the 28"? Some buyers have had no problems - but I have twice! As a VIZIO lover, I hate to say this, but hello Samsung!

    Love the smart TV functions

This is our 2nd Visio SmarTV purchased in the past few years. The features on it work pretty seamlessly and we haven't had any connectivity problems. My son uses it to stream Netflix regularly and has not seen any problems with the picture quality.

    Disappointment

The reviews were so good, I decided to buy. It was easy to set up, but I was immediately disappointed by TV shutting off 5 times every hour (even while on phone with Vizio customer service). Timers were turned off, so that wasn't the problem. Vizio said they would replace with a new one because it was only 2 days old. All I had to do was pay for a new one and charges would be reversed once the defective one was returned. Unfortunately, I now have to pay to have the defective one picked up! The second TV has no problems staying on (had it for 2 days). The brightness waivers, making the TV difficult to watch and it is slow to respond to commands from cable with which I've had no problems. One feature I forgot to check: This TV has no ability to display the time continuously -- something to consider if that is important to you.

    GEEKSQUAD Open-box certified excellent

What I received was a bubble-wrapped Vizio tv in a large cardboard box, 2 user manuals, and a remote with the battery compartment door missing. TV is currently awaiting pick up by UPS Ordered 1/11 delivered 1/12. Nothing indicated this Vizio TV underwent the GS inspection and was deemed CERTIFIED EXCELLENT. Wonder where my real Vizio tv is?

    Fading of picture

Bought the 28" Vizio, wanted its features and size, but when it was hooked up, the picture kept fading, then brightening again. It was inconsistent, but persistent. Returned and will get a Samsung. May be this set alone, since Vizio has a good reputation, but the out the box experience wasn't good.

    Not Smart Enough--Beware

Don't buy this if you want to connect to Amazon Prime or Netflix. Vizio replaced the first one and the second one still will not work wirelessly. We bought it as a corner kitchen TV and it works for everything else--but it would be nice to do the things it's advertising as doing, yet can't.

TV Doesn't support all wireless Security Standards

    Posted .

I purchased this TV for my Daughters dorm room. Could not connect it to the Wifi. Contacted Visio chat support and was informed that it does not support a shared key for security or special character passwords. Visio wants the network to conform to the device not the device to conform to the network. This is unacceptable and poor Wifi design.
