Vizio- Great Value for the Price

TV has worked really well for my family. Besides a rare quirk of randomly turning on and playing the last movie selected, (can not rule out pets as a possible cause,) this TV still works as good as when I bought it in 2020 and it's survived lock down.

Love this tv. Very good quality even after 5 years of use still holds up compared to the newer models. Would definitely buy again.

Slow. Every time I get on the main screen it's slow to get there. When change local channels, it's also slow to change channels. Those are the only things I don't like about this TV.

Not a Good MONITOR for a Computer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For most people's purposes, this TV is probably a good TV (I am rating it 4 out of 5 because it should be a much better TV than it is a computer monitor, but I honestly did not check out any of the "TV" or "Internet" functions of this TV). I also will check the "WILL recommend..." box since it probably works fine as a TV, but I plan to return it today (2/18/2020) after buying it yesterday for reasons stated in the following paragraphs. I was looking for a TV whose PRIMARY purpose was to be a second monitor for my laptop computer (I recently had a dedicated 22" computer monitor that died). The SECONDARY purpose of this TV would be to utilize all of the TV functions (my previous monitor was a dedicated computer monitor with no TV functions). The most serious problem that I had with this Vizio TV was the when my laptop computer was connected to it via an HDMI cable there was a 2 or 3 second delay between the video that the TV displayed and the audio that came from from the TV (same result using either of the HDMI ports on the TV). I also felt like the picture quality was more blurry than I expected from a 1080p TV. For comparison, I then connected the laptop to my older (7 years old?) Samsung 40" 1080p TV (using same HDMI cable) and the sound was synced correctly with the displayed video (video quality was excellent), and I then connected the laptop to my (3 year old?) Samsung 32" 720p TV. With the 32" Samsung 720p TV the audio was synced correctly but the video quality less than the Samsung 1080p TV and was about the same as this Vizio 1080p TV that I am reviewing. Samsung had a 32" 1080p TV at Best Buy that I wanted to buy but they were sold out. My review should be helpful to those that may be wanting to use this TV as a computer monitor (my critiques MAY apply to other devices that send audio / video signals to this TV via HDMI).

Seriously this tv sucks… we’ve had it for 3 years and it’s NEVER worked well. It’s soooo slow, everything takes forever to load on the screen minus Netflix. It buffers and just cannot handle the technology, wish we had returned when we first bought it

Get the one made in Vietnam!

There are 2 different versions of this TV. One is made in China, the other Vietnam. I had the Chinese version first and it was SLOW and kept doing goofy things, like turning itself on and off and losing the internet connection. Returned it and got the one from Vietnam. What a difference. Speakers sound better (15 watts per speaker vs. 10 from the Chinese version) and the lag that some people are complaining about was absent. The legs were more robust and the back of the TV was better designed. Great Value! Make sure you get the one made in Vietnam!

Remember the old android phones that were full of un-removable preloaded crap apps that took up all of the phone’s memory and slowed it to a crawl? This TV is the same. It runs as fast as a golf cart. The picture is decent, but most of the apps glitch or crash so you’ll never get to enjoy it. Returned it.

Overall this is a good tv for the cost. I bought specifically to use streaming apps to replace cable which it does. My one issue is how slow it is to turn on and use the menu. When strolling through apps or stations there is a noticeable delay, I have the tv hardwired so I know its not signal related. If the tv was more responsive I would have given 5 stars.

I've had this TV for awhile now. I bought it as an upgrade to our previous bedroom tv. At first the TV was great, but when I got a subscription to Hulu w/ Live TV, I could barely watch it on the Vizio. The TV is hardwired into one of my WiFi nodes and still freezes and stutters like crazy. Eventually the built in chromecast streaming became unwatchable, and we can rarely get the AirPlay function to work. The TV in my living room works perfectly fine with Hulu Live TV and with YouTube TV. If you are getting this TV to stream you may want to look elsewhere.

Positively Awful TV - Read On

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this TV in September to place in the kitchen. The TV is literally 5 feet from a Netgear R7950 router. After a few months of enduring frozen screens from YoutubeTV and Hulu - delays that literally added up to nearly an hours time difference from a TV in the living room after 4 hours of similar use, I decided to do some testing to see if the issue was my network or the TV - because in fairness, I was using a wifi connection and had to check this out. So, I first wired up a netgear powerline connection that gives gigabit connectivity...the TV still froze. I then hardwired from the router 6 feet away to the tv...the tv still froze. I then took a larger Vizio TV I had in another room and tuck it literally under the this TV...in other words, the 32 inch was hanging from the ceiling and the larger one was under it on the counter. I rant both TVs off the same remote. Both had the same operating system/firmware build...and both were pretty much equidistant from the router - 6 feet away at most...the larger TV worked fine. No issues. The smaller one FROZE. I called Vizio support. They told me to do a hard reset on the 32 inch after I explained my testing...and it WORKED! For an hour. Then freezing. And more freezing. And more. After another couple of days of this and having them explain that I needed to turn off file sharing on my network because this is a known problem, I countered wiith UM, NO. File sharing needs to be on on my network and it's sort of silly to expect that I need to turn it off. I insisted that they needed to send me a new TV. So they did. And sure enough...it worked and then after a few hours, it started freezing! So...I totally give up. I am now stuck with a refurbished TV and can't get my money back because it is outside of Best Buy's return period and I am just beyond fed up with this TV. The other Vizio (the larger one) continues to be fine. It never has an issue - on the SAME network setup - but this one is positively awful. And then I happened to read some of the reviews here and sure enough others have the same types of problems. Frozen screens, unresponsive remotes, etc. etc. etc...and I had all of those as I went through this adventure. So some advice, if you see this TV online or in the store and are inclined to buy it...RUN the other way. Easily the worst electronics purchase I have ever made in my life. And I am stuck with it.

Vizio Products are now made at poor quality and has too many defects with them. I bought one two days ago and then noticed about two hours of operation at the bottom right corner was showing light through the screen. Which burned your finger at the touch. Also a fuzzy gray line running horizontally across the screen. Then the home screen freezes on you constantly. Next day I went to best buy and switched out for another. Unfortunately the second one had same problems with a line running across the screen and freezes. With so many complaints online and forums dated back for several years, you would think the company would take care of their customers. I use to be a tv salesman back in 2010 and would recommend Vizio, which was a great company. Until they were bought out by a Chinese company called LeEco in 2016. Its very sad to read about so many people are having issues with their tvs and they eat the lose while the company does nothing but keep manufacturing defective products.

    Technical issues galore

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This TV has a nice sharp picture, but it has many technical issues: - it turns itself off while I'm watching it and sometimes turns itself on when it's off. - after 3 months, the TV screen is now blank when I turn it on and needs to be rebooted to get it to work each time. - the smart TV apps are very sluggish, much slower than a Roku I would return it if I could. Not worth the trouble.
