VIZIO SmartCast™ products are controlled using an application instead of a traditional remote. This means that any VIZIO SmartCast™ device can be controlled using most smartphones and tablets. The manual is also built into the TV as well which allows the ability to keep it updated as new features may become available.     I should not have bought a smart TV when I don't have a smart phone, and don't intend to get one, but sales did not warn me about this. Close captioning doesn't work and the only help I could find was from Vizio--telling me how to use a smart phone to try to see whether it could be made to work. Best Buy wasn't helpful, so I will put up with set for a while, then go elsewhere.

      We appreciate the feedback. VIZIO SmartCast™ products are controlled using an application instead of a traditional remote. This means that any VIZIO SmartCast™ device can be controlled using most smartphones and tablets. The VIZIO SmartCast™ remote app would be needed to turn on Closed Captions through the TV input. If you have a cable, satellite or other device connected to the TV then the Closed Captions would need to be adjusted through that device.       Thanks for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you saw in the store. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark. VIZIO

    Within weeks of having the TV possibly even days it would start to flicker and often freeze. They blamed it on my internet because I was streaming (I have a $400 router and gigabit internet I know that's not why) now it disconnects from the internet, freezes, flickers and stutters, and now the sound will just randomly stop working.

    Purchased this product bought a year agoAnd want to Florida one day and the TV did not work do not turn on or anything when I came back that’s why I had to purchase another one from the store and I made sure I put a warranty on her but I will never order again online very disappointing and a waste of money

    The item was broken out of the box - Even though I could have ordered it online, and had free shipping, I chose to pick it up in the store. Because of that, I also had to return it to the store, 60 miles round trip each time. In my opinion, Best Buy has extremely poor customer service, and I'll not ever make another purchase from them.

    Bought the Netgear R8000 based on recommendation of Best Buy customer service rep. I have had nothing but problems with the product. I am now on my third replacement, from Netgear, and have very little confidence that will be the one. After all my problems I found the product has had quite a few complaints.

    I purchased this to be able to watch netflix/hbo go other internet apps. This tv is for vizio application which you have to download and then pay for their app. Nothing has been free......tv picture quality not any better then the old tv i had before.

    The tv has bad picture quality and color balance. No matter the adjustment or even buying expensive cables the tv is fuzzy when using regular cable. The blacks are not black.

    We own 2 Vizios, but this model is a flop. Seems that they tried to incorporate some proprietary software that is completely useless and non-user-friendly. A total bust.

    Not a true smart TV.this TV is advertised as a smart TV. It may work with a Samsung or Google phone, but does not work with the iPhone well at all.
