    Disappointing "Smart TV" Functionality...

Smart TV portion of this product is very disappointing, plenty of forced sponsor apps - and almost no controls to lock their programming out of every day selections. I had to shut off internal WiFi to the set (ie: disable the Smart aspect), apply parental controls to keep it from being turned back on - and add an Amazon Firestick (4K) to the HDMI port in order to obtain the least non-dumb smart functionality possible. Clearly the video quality is good, but the smart programming of a Vizio TV is terrible - I was considering bringing it back and buying another vendor... tons of complete trash programming you can't get rid of, like you can choose to do on an external smart WiFi stick.

It wouldnt connect to my dorm internet and eventually the screen wouldn’t turn on at all. I returned it. Wasn’t satisfied at all, it was crappy, but it was open box. So maybe that’s why. Don’t know. I had a bad experience.

The picture flicks off and on repeatedly, and it will pause with no sound for a few seconds. Disappointed that it’s been doing this for while and we haven’t even had it for a year. I won’t buy Vizio again.

    Dissapointed...

I typically don’t buy technology online but this tv seemed perfect for what I was looking for. When I began the set up, updates took 10-15 minutes, thought that was a bit long but I didn’t mind. When I finished inputting my WiFi and accepted the terms...the home screen was all blank. Remote control did not turn on/off tv (obviously it had batteries). I googled Vizio support for this problem and did everything it mentioned and still nothing. Screen is still black, home screen doesn’t show apps, Netflix, Hulu, free channels and Amazon prime options don’t work. I am really disappointed. I was really looking forward to my new tv.

I have a couple older vizio TVs and the picture seems much better. This TV’s HD picture is not as crisp. I played with the settings for about a week, but no joy. Ultimately, I returned this TV to the store.

Hello JR11, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition or 4K signal. This means making sure that your source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD or 4K, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD or 4K picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture settings that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room, try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room, try Calibrated Dark. VIZIO

THE WORST TV I'VE EVER HAD....

This TV replaced a Samsung 40 inch 6300 SmartTV. By comparison, this Vizio has the worst color & clarity...worst than my Sony television (the one with the speakers on the side). I installed it yesterday & no matter how many settings I tried to adjust, there just was no clarity to the picture, so I'm taking it back today to trade for a Samsung or a Sony. I was disappointed in the Tinley store because they didn't recommend another tv for the 40" replacement I was looking for. Jack from the Countryside store recommended this Vizio. Unfortunately, it was not a good tv.

First time turned on, took half an hour to update. Then nothing worked except for Netflix and HDMI. The TV is so slow that you always wonder "is it ON or OFF"? And no kidding, there is no sign whether the TV is on or off... Whether it works or not, it's not responsive at all and you basically have to wait a few seconds every time you press a button. Such a weird product.

Hi Moonshot. When the TV turns on, the light on the bottom left hand side will flash on- and a VIZIO logo will appear on the TV for about 2 seconds. Then you'll see your normal television content. If that's not what's happening then something must be wrong. If you could go to support.VIZIO.com and click on 'Contact Us' we've got SMS, web chat, and phone agents who are happy to help. VIZIO

We purchase this item as an Open box. When doing setup process Tv would work great, then turn off and leave for half and time back on it was fine. Turn off at night wake up the next morning had to go through setup process each time. Call Best buy and they recommend calling company to see if they could fixe over phone. Could not and brought back to Best Buy and they did a full return. Would buy again from Best buy, maybe not an open box item.

Connectivity is terrible. Every time I turn it on I spend 30 minutes trouble shooting why it won't connect . I end up having to reset my modem and go through the whole set up. At minimum it logs me out of my Hulu account. This drives me crazy. My other Verizon TV doesn't do this. I didn't return it before the dead line because I saw Spectrum service vehicles where I live so I thought there was a problem with the internet service.

It worked fine for about 3 weeks then randomly (like other Vizio's i learned afterwards) stopped connecting to Wifi for whatever reason which made it an almost $300 waste of LED and plastic that could do absolutely nothing after that happened, always pick an LG or Samsung just to name a few, they'll actually last :)
