Easy to use interface for Smart TV. Works well with other devices.

Good TV. The privacy thing is a little concerning, but I think I figured out how to reduce exposure to big-Vizio-brother. I'm not positive that I turned off tracking of what I do, and I found the settings confusing around this issue.

The TV generally works, but my fears about a "Smart TV" have unfortunately been validated. While it's mildly convenient to not need my FireTV or Chromecast dongles anymore, I've been having consistent problems with lagging response to my controls since I received the TV. Of all things, the *Volume Control* rarely responds within anything remotely acceptable (often lagging by a minute or sometimes just not responding at all). I've been trying to work through the problem with the manufacturer, but I first was told it was a known problem they were working to fix, and it would be updated automatically almost two months ago. I gave them a week or two before calling back and being told that my unit must be defective and they were going to send someone out to fix it, and that a local technician would be in touch to schedule the repair. A few weeks later I called back only to be told they couldn't send someone out without doing more troubleshooting (which turned out to just be resetting it again like I'd done several times already). Now I'm told again it's a known problem they're working on, but they won't give me an estimate of when it will be fixed. It really strikes me, as an engineer myself, that basic functionality like Volume Control should have been the kind of thing being tested all along. I could've understood if I had a problem with one app, and they needed to work on that, but the fact that Volume Control is a problem they let slip into a release, let alone didn't fix in less than two months, is enough that I'd warn others against buying anything else from this manufacturer. It's a shame because I'd read good things about Vizio, and their TV OS, when I was researching the purchase.

A good television for the value. Excellent for a young person's room. Not the truest blacks but it does well for a casual TV watcher. The smart features can be a little clunky so its better to default to outside streaming devices.
