It was kind of pain to setup at first. Have to bypass the initial setup section like the downloading update which takes forever but if you exit it and get past it, it can work. Otherwise this is a good tv.

Best 43" 4K HDR TV in its class!

The Vizio E43-F1 is hands down the best 4K HDR TV in its class. By class I mean entry level to mid range, price range, and display size. The display quality is excellent. It has great contrast ratio due to it utilizing a VA panel. The 10 zone local dimming helps with this as well. The combination of the two make for excellent black levels and higher quality darker scenes. Local dimming is unheard of in this price range! It also handles motion very well due to its higher refresh rate and has very low input lag, making it great for gaming! I made the mistake of purchasing the Samsung 43" UN7100 for $450 over the Vizio E43-F1 the first time around. I just wasn't very happy with the Samsung and knew I should have given the $330 Vizio a shot first. I took it back and exchanged it for the Vizio, granting me a $120 + dollar refund as well. The Vizio display looks better, has a higher contrast ratio, local dimming (Samsung UN7100 doesn't), better motion handling and lower input lag. The Samsung display housing was better and yes, it looked nicer. It also had a far superior user interface than the Vizio. But the display didn't look as nice and the housing wasn't $120+ better. I'm using it with a Nvidia Shield TV so the user interface doesn't matter to me. You can't get a better TV for this price. It beats the Samsung, Sony, and LG offerings that cost a hundred plus dollars more. See Rtings.com

Less then a year later the tv remote broke, and the input sometimes took longer to set up then the time the tv was actually used to. Have unfortunately had many problems with the 2 TVs we bought from this company, though not for long as we have replaced them with new different brands that have superior image and quality by far. Would strongly not recommend. Not with the price tag at all.

The screen went blank within less than 10 days after purchase. The input connections did not function. I lost ALL my USB data after attempting to use the port. Vizio sent a replacement out and we had to take the returned item to the carrier ourselves. The replacement unit is slow to respond. Would recommend NOT using their built-in services and set Roku or similar up to bypass the onboard software. I owned a smaller Vizio about 4 years ago. It was a fabulous TV. The original was a lemon and the replacement has me with buyer's remorse. Did not contact Vizio about the replacement. After 2 tries I concluded this was as good as it gets.

Set up was easy and I was very excited to use the vizio interface since it was Alexa and google assistant enabled. Unfortunately I was never able to use those features. After 2 days the home screen won’t load and I would only use the preset apps on the remote to get to Netflix. After multiple factory resets and trouble shooting online, I gave up on it and returned it. I don’t know if it was my tv or the vizio software but I would stay away from this model.

I bought this tv to use with my new PlayStation 4 Pro. Right from the beginning I had problems. It would make the PlayStation quit working. Thinking it was my PlayStation I returned it and got a new one. The same thing still happened. If you switch in puts while the PlayStation is on you have to do a "soft power cycle on the TV to get the PlayStation working again. Then about a month after I had it the speakers quit working. The colors are horrible. No matter what I did it didn't look good. I gave it away and just bought a TCL 4K and couldn't be happier. The PlayStation issue is gone and the colors look great

I am constantly performing a factory reset as the tv does not work and gets stuck in “starting up” mode or the screen just remains black and nothing happens. I just had to do another factory reset and this time it didn’t start up! My son just recently purchased this tv in November 2018 and a month or so I had to do a reset and the past 2-3 months I’ve had to do it almost every week! I was advised by the cable tech that Visio TVs are the worst in their experience!

Hello Consumer, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition or 4K signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD or 4K, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD or 4K picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark. VIZIO

A TV without a tuner doesn't do you much good unless you have cable. Will not work without a cable box! A dumb way to build a TV.

The first one broke within two weeks. Kept turning off on its own after watching for a few minutes. Best Buy was good and replaced it with the same TV. I have to keep, but still turns off, just not as much, and the sound is poor.

Best Choice For A Dark Room

    Posted .

I researched quite a bit before buying this TV. I prefer to keep electronics for a while rather than update every other year. The Vizio E43-F1 and TCL 43S515(517 variant) were the final choices. I opted for the Vizio E43-F1 because of Local Dimming. This TV is in a darker room and it does not disappoint. Compared to a 1080P edge lit LG I had, the E43-F1 is a significant improvement. Blacks are dark and look wonderful for such an inexpensive display. Despite review site (Rtings.com) recommended settings, I would follow the Calibrated (day use) and Calibrated Dark (night use) presets, only turning Sharpness to 0 and Film Mode Off. I have found Local Dimming to be splotchy at High. The Presets will keep it at Low or Medium depending on the content youre watching. I opted for this TV over the TCL 515/517 because of the better display features. The Wide Color Gamut in the TCL was tempting, but seemed fruitless for such a dim display and the built-in Roku did not appeal to me considering how inexpensive a streaming stick is. At the end of the day, a good looking picture was what I was after. Everything else I can improve with a plug in device.

I bought this because it was cheaper than the Samsung I had originally wanted and the demo looked great. But once I set it up at home the picture quality was very poor and their OS is very sluggish. Highly recommend looking elsewhere. Took it back and went Samsung.

    Excellent TV

Picked up this from BB, initially I was going for the LG, & or Toshiba 43.. I spent a whole day reading reviews, settled on the former, then I stumbled on the Vizio review and realized there weren't too many negative reviews, so I bought it & I have to say, this is an excellent choice, I was looking for a simple 43 inch for the bedroom,,I'm a streamer, Firestick, with Hulu & Netflix accounts, & I've to say, the quality is excellent, the picture is great, I saw some negative reviews about that,I don't know what those customers were expecting but im completely satisfied. I will admit one thing, This is my first smart TV, the last time I bought a TV was 2006, but regardless, I know what looks good & what works, 3 Hdmi ports & simple setup is no brainer, plenty of fine tuning the picture quality by going into the "More Picture" option. The audio for me isn't a deal breaker, it sounds pretty decent compared to the older models I have, but of course there's a 12 year difference in tech,I already had a Vizio soundbar, but that wasn't my reason for purchasing, but the TV remote controls the soundbar, so that is a plus, this was $100 more than the Toshiba I was looking at, the LG was $269, this was $329, but I'm not complaining bcuz so far I think I made an excellent choice. I'm not going to nick pick about the quality of the remote or the plastic legs, I like the more important stuff like the 120 refresh rate, no pixelating, even the crap quality YouTube videos show pretty good, so I can imagine how a game console is going to look.so I'm completely satisfied, I think most will be too, not too complicated or subpar. Good luck
