The satellite speakers started making cracking noises and the sub woofer would cut out for seconds at a time. This shouldn’t happen with a premium product that commands the price this product does.

Look, i had a 2.1 soundbar with external subwoofer. Also vizio. It suddenly wouldnt recognize my hdmi so i thought it was the xbox. Its not. It was the soundbar. Decided to upgrade to this newer version and its AMAZING. You don't need a lot of space to set it up. Setup even took maybe 5-10 mins. If you dont like cords, gonna be a bummer but you can wrap up as much cord as possible and keep it tied up (box comes with ties so theres that). Set the back speakers up and towards you, sub inbetween and behind and let it rock. You can set the speakers to not turn up if you like and dont have to worry about those breaking cause they will be in regular position. Sounds are crisp and vibrant, background noise is picked up when you watch movies and sound where they should be in the film. First movie was fast and furious 1 and whooo.... Blew me away. The 4k from the box messed up halfway and we changed out the blu ray and that sound was still there, still boomin. Sounds are exactly where they should be relative to position and they are perfect. Tip: get an openbox if you can. This one was complete, sealed (cords and remote were still sealed in plastic), and was just missing the weird L shaped box this comes in normally. Paid 328 plus got the 4 year warranty for 60 bucks. Came out to 426 final and thats a steal. If you get this for under 500, you are walking out of there with a quality system that you can enjoy for awhile. Have best buy send the receipt to email and your solid for 4 years or less if they offer a lesser warranty. This is worth it even at 700, just makes it easier to bite the bullet if you pay less. Hey,blame the economy but dont blame this system. For a true 5.1, this is what you want.

It took me a little bit longer for this review because of the delivery problems, but once I got a few days to hook everything up and listen to it, I was blown away! The blend of sound as the highs, mids, and bass are over the top! I have mine in my master bedroom, so I believe since it's a smaller space the sound is that much better. I promise you, the sound is like I'm in the theater! I've watched different programs, the news, and YouTube videos to see the differences and how the system would sound. Every single thing I watched was crystal clear no matter if I use netflix, Amazon prime, or DC universe online, they all sounded phenomenal! I didn't hear any crackling or any pauses throughout the day, as I switched to different video outlets. One thing I really didn't like, was the app for the surround sound system. I spent more than 3 hours trying to get it to work, like uninstalling and reinstalling, turning my phone on and off, and trying to pair the system with the app multiple times. I have the newest most expensive phone, so I don't think that's the problem. So I figured I would use the remote that came with it instead. I also had difficulty trying to get the speakers to rotate once I watched movies with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X on the different movie platforms. But because I'm not a technical guy, it could possibly be something I'm not doing right. Other than that, this would be a phenomenal addition to anyone's personal entertainment area, and I would definitely recommend this system!

Hi Boogie! Thank you for the detailed review and we're glad you're enjoying your Elevate system. Regarding the speaker rotation, you can adjust the setting by pressing the effect button on the remote and switching the Elevate setting to ElevateAuto. This will cause the rotating drivers will automatically rotate based on the content. Hope that helps! Incredible Sound Quality with Some Quirks

I just want to start off saying this is an incredible sounding soundbar system. The best I have ever owned and it genuinely makes me enjoy watching TV/movies ten fold more. But, as I will outline, there are some quirks that are really preventing me from giving this 5 stars and Vizio really needs to perfect the firmware on this and work with customers on that. Also, before that, let me say what I think sounds best. I pretty much use Movie mode for everything, it has the best most well rounded sound, and I have surround sound and VTX on always, I don't care for volume leveling with movies, I would not turn it on, you need the dynamic flow of sound. Direct is good for like a cable box when you are watching live TV, but that is about it. Movie EQ rocks. Also, I own a condo, and wow, this bass is something else, I had to turn it to -12 and it still rocks the house. So be mindful! PROS: - Incredible sound quality: I honestly feel like I have a mini home theater now inside my house. The bass is extremely full (please note it is DOWN FIRING so you really need to isolate it well) and the soundstage is so wide from the soundbar itself and the rear sounds are pretty full. Atmos content sounds incredible, I try now to watch as much atmos content as possible because it sounds so good. - Very customizable: This is the most customization I have had in a soundbar system in terms of EQ. I had a older 5.1 vizio sound system and this one offers a lot more in terms of what you can adjust. The only thing you can not adjust is the mids which would've really set this thing over the top. But after playing around with it for hours, you will tune it to your ears and living situation. - It has 3 HDMI inputs, one of which is EARC which is amazing. Also the fact you can plug in your smart home device like Alexa right into this thing is pretty cool via AUX. CONS: - The FIRMWARE! Ugh, this thing can be pretty buggy and sporadic at itmes. I have contacted VIzio support about this and I am waiting eagerly for firmware to fix issues. I knew it would be buggy, but it got to be pretty annoying. I've had audio sync issues (only twice in 2 weeks), I've had it where my TV (a Vizio) did not recognize the sound bar anymore until I literally unplugged them both from the wall and plugged them back in, I've had issues with atmos content not being recognized. But the issues are very sporadic and not consistent. 90% of the time it works great, but that 10% really bugs me because if you area not tech savvy and just want a plug and play system, this thing might drive you bonkers. - The SmartCast app sucks. I don't know why people love it, it's not good. It is very buggy, you slide a value to a certain number and the app just resets it back to a random number. It has issues connecting to the sound bar all the time, it needs work. All in all, this is an amazing sound system and a great way to get into the Atmos world. Easy set up, easy to use, but PLEASE Vizio, fix the bugs and make the smartcast app better. Once the firmware/software is fixed, this thing is a 10/10

Excellent Upgrade From my Older Vizio Soundbar

I purchased an Ultra HD TV with eARC and new in the long run I would buy a soundbar that was compatible. I was going to pull the trigger on the Sonos Arc unit for $1000.00. The rear let and right speakers, as well as the bass speaker cost extra. To my advantage, it wasn't available in the USA at the time (Christmas, 2020). Leading up to the Superbowl in 2021, I learned about the Elevate. and don't you know, Vizio, through Best Buy, had a sale on this excellent product. Need I say more? Despite some critical reviews, I had no problems setting up the soundbar. I did have to fine-tune the balance between front and rear speakers. I also take advantage of the dialogue function to increase this level when some shows have muffled speaking roles. You will not regret your decision to buy this set. One more thing, I did connect the Elevate to my TV with a 2.1 HDMI cord.

Despite Best Buy dropping the ball a half dozen times, we finally took delivery of our soundbar and got it going. Setup was super easy and although the vizio app took about 10 attempts to complete the installation, it works just fine. Sounds great. Automatically detects Atmos content and delivers a nice, 3d soundscape. Dynamic range is good and the sub has more than enough horsepower for most rooms. Due to the horrible condition of the first unit they sent, a substantial price adjustment made it a very cost effective solution. As it was, the original black Friday pricing was still pretty fair. Not sure if I'll be going back to Best buy anytime soon. Way too much time and energy wasted because they don't have competent staff. Although the guys at the store I finally picked up from were pretty on the ball, that was only one in about a dozen contacts. Nit a good average.

Highly NOT Recommended, Plagued with issues...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this Soundbar in October of 2020. As of 01/2024 I have moved on to a home theater system (Denon S760H & KEF Q150s) and it doesn't even compare to how much better that is versus this. My first Vizio unit was a lemon and completely died after a week of light use. After getting a new one, I spent the next few years of extreme patience, keeping this thing barely running with a lot of frustration. This soundbar has been plagued with issues. There are almost non-existent firmware updates for it. I can't say Vizio cares about this product anymore. It is decent and sounds great when it works. But the vast majority of the time you won't be able to connect to it via the app and actually tune the sound to your liking. Additionally, you'll likely have tons of issues with large audio popping. eARC not working properly (tested with multiple TVs). Inconsistent HDMI-CEC. Random freezing and lock up. If you look this up on Reddit and do some research you'll see that problems and this soundbar are synonymous with each other. Avoid this one if you can. Mine is simply going in the garbage because I don't wish this pain and frustration on anybody else.
