Not worth the hassle
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound quality - when it works. The soundbar will constantly get stuck and refuse to change input forcing a power cycle. The app is next to useless.

Syper Home theater !! Vizio does it again!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a fan of Vizio forever. Don’t get me wrong. I try every brand of sound bar. There is including Sonos and I come back to Vizio . But the Vizio Elevate is like nothing. I’ve ever heard before the smallest of detail when it comes to sound you can hear in the system and it gives you so many options depending on what you’re watching or listening to.. its worth every cent and I will put this up against any of the so-called top brands because in my opinion, the only top brand is Vizio !!!!!

Movies come to life
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup up was pretty much plug and play with my new Sony Bravia TV. It is super punchy bassy out the box so I had to lower to about -6. Didnt realize the rear speakers upward fire sound as well which is a bonus. Movies are so fun to watch with this-The Outpost, Ready Player One, Wonder Woman, Netflix Daredevil, The Old Guard. Atmos is out of this world. One annoying thing is that when im watchin something with Atmos signal, and I rewind or fast forward, the speaker rotates down and back up once it gets that atmos signal again. I paid a pretty penny for this thing but totally worth it in my opinion.

Amazing deal at $699. Flawless and Easy install.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this system this afternoon. I was worried that the setup would be a challenge due to all the criticism written here regarding the application/firmware. However I should not have worried. Perhaps Vizio has released updated firmware or an updated application for Android? Not sure, but the setup was EASY and flawless. Sits perfectly on my glass TV stand. After the easy setup it auto detects Atmos from Disney Plus over my Apple TV 4K. Also tested Vudu and MoviesAnywhere. Haven't tested my 4k Sony Blu ray yet, but I assume that won't have any issues either. I moved from an older Yamaha 7.1 system to this... and I have to say its impressive. Perhaps the surround isn't quite as "wide", but the clarity of the speakers front and back is amazing compared to my previous setup. I am hearing things with this system + atmos tracks that I never heard or never appreciated before. So if you have a modern TV like me (Sony x900H with eARC) and an Android Phone... I say you will have no issues. I didn't. For $699 it's a steal.

One of the best sounding bar
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After returning my Sonos arc full system I am pleasantly surprised by the performance of this bar. So far no discounting or surround issues. It recognized my atmos contents so I left it under “Auto”. I am using it with my LG C7 so no eArc. There are my pros and cons: Pros: Very clear vocal and dialogue and I don’t even need to turn up my center level (unlike my old vizio bar and Sonos). or Keep adjusting volume to hear dialogue Pretty good deep bass performance Very good surround performance Pretty good atmos (similar to full Sonos Arc system) Cons: Software is Meh and dated, unlike Sonos’ Lack auto calibration, but even without it sounded good. Some minor popping sound, I have experienced it twice, once in YouTube music video and once changing source. It only popped once or twice so I don’t have any concern, hope firmware fit this minor thing.

Posted .Hi Kenwk - we really appreciate the thorough pros and cons review and are glad you're experience has been good so far! Regarding the popping sound, with sound bars using eARC, ARC and/or CEC rely on communication between the TV and the Sound bar. While VIZIO tests across a broad array of TVs and manufacturers, signal detection timing can vary between TV models. Some of these timing differences may cause pops or clicks between content changes. VIZIO actively tracks these differences and rolls updates into Firmware updates. We encourage you to connect your VIZIO Elevate to your wireless network to take advantage of these Firmware updates as soon as they are available.
For any issues, please always contact our customer support team so we can try to troubleshoot. They're always available at support.VIZIO.com via text, chat, email or over the phone.

The mobile app alone is reason not to buy it.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received the Vizio in the mail today. Package damaged and the right speaker only rotates up 2/3 of the way. I can see these parts wearing down over time. Still was excited to check it out before exchanging at Best Buy due to the damage. Getting it setup through the app was actually pretty easy - I've read a lot of reviews that setup takes forever. No kinks there. Confirmed running the latest firmware. APP (Using Android) Is HORRIBLE. Constantly freezes. If you change slider settings, they don't apply. If you multi-task and go back to the App, 70% of the time it says the Vizio is no longer connected to the network when I have it hard-wired over Ethernet. I force closed the app, re-opened it - same issue - can't find the Soundbar. Also Chromecast features - meh. Very slow to respond. I usually cast from Spotify to my YAS-209 and it's nearly instant. Vizio is like 20 seconds to connect! And if your TV is turned on, it won't auto switch input to play music via Chromecast. Yamaha does this flawlessly. Sound. It's good. Bass heavy, needs some tweaking. Checked out Mandalorian - sounds good but not worth $999. I got this on sale for $699 and I'm still returning it and going back to my $349 Soundbar. Primarily because of the app, but I also suspect a Sonos Arc even without the sub and surrounds would be better. Overall, relatively disappointed. For a $1000 soundbar, Vizio needs to heavily invest in their App ecosystem. This isn't 2014.

Worth the money.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is clean, clear and solid. Subwuffer is pretty powerful. The first time I tested it by playing The end game, my neighbor knocked on my door told me that he wall was shaking.

Good soundbar but frequent eArc disconnects
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall sound quality is real good, worth the penny. Only concern has been with frequent disconnect to the HDMI-eArc. Have to turn off and on the sound bar to connect to eArc. At times it become so frequent and makes it frustrating.

Great soundbar with home theater feel!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound bar that gives you home theater feeling. The rear speakers come with long enough wires which connect to the subwoofer which is great. The auto turning speakers are great, but not that amazing tbh. The remote has a display on the top, which is great, but if it displayed numbers (like 1 to 10) for volume it'd be much better. Cons: it makes motor noise while turning off. Also if you switch equalizer (for example from 'movie' to 'game', the speaker calls it out loud "Game", is that really necessary?). The bass is really heavy on this one, I had to manually take it down using the remote/app. Overall a nice addition who don't want to get full home theater set up.

Supports many Dolby Atmos/Vision devices via eARC
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have multiple items that I wanted to connect to the sound system - TV, Roku, Blu-ray player, PS4, and PC. I also wanted to take advantage of Dolby Vision and Atmos, available on several of my components. I was thinking I needed a compatible AV receiver and speakers with an end cost of over $1500. The VIZIO Elevate was on sale for $800 and included bass and rear speakers for surround sound. I was able to connect it to my new LG tv's eARC HDMI port. The Elevate passes Dolby Vision from the connected compatible Blu-ray player to the TV, plus plays the Dolby Atmos. The Roku is connected to the TV, which passes Dolby Atmos to the Elevate speakers. No need for more expensive separate sound components and everything works brilliantly! The sound quality exceeded my expectations and Dolby Atmos really adds to movies that support it.

Just do it - worth the step up for Atmos
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anguished over spending this much on a sound bar, but got a great deal a few weeks before Christmas. Easy to set up and program. Remote is a little difficult to use and app laggy, but those are secondary to the sound and overall performance.

Amazing sound bar
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing sound, I thought after seeing this online that it might be gimmicky with the rotating speakers but after hearing it in the store I was blown away and it sounds amazing in my home. Perfect companion with my Vizio Oled tv and game consoles

Very good, but....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound quality, good bass but may be too strong for some, and feels well made. The Atmos speakers turning up is a cool effect, but don't know if the motor will remain strong long term. Unfortunately, the constant flipping through inputs for the soundbar to work was too much for me and was returned. If you can look beyond these gripes, then you could get this soundbar at nearly half the price when it was first released.

Oh oh Vizio, same behaviors :(
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well....... I was optimistic and excited. I felt like I was giving a bad relationship a 3rd go around. Wifi connection issues ✔ auto sync issues ✔ popping and static noise ✔ Hdmi handshake still buggy, sound randomly goes out and then comes back in after about 45 seconds . It does really sound good when it works. Bass is great and voice is a lot better than previous models. I will give it over the weekend to see if Vizio tech support has any other work around besides Power cycle and change hdmi which I have done. Move from a Nakamichi shockwafe no issues.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this is mind blowing! I connected it from the earc and into the ARC Sony X900H TV input and it connected instantly. I added other components to the TV and the sound bar instantly picks them up. The bass is deep and the voice is crisps and clear. I'm not having any issues such as others have mentioned.
