Customers are saying

Customers find value in the overall sound quality, particularly the Dolby Atmos feature, which delivers an incredible sound experience. The soundbar also offers an easy setup process and includes rear speakers, making it a great value for the price. However, some customers have experienced connectivity issues between the soundbar and subwoofer, and the remote control has been criticized for its poor design.

    Bad subwoofer

Box was damaged when it arrived. I was able to install the system easily. And set up was just as easy. Subwoofer would never put out sound. It powers up and connects to the SB. The rear speakers connected through the subwoofer. But could never get any sound out of it. I contacted Vizio support and they couldn’t fix issue. Had to send system back to them and they sent me a refund. Took weeks for this all to happen. Just got the refund.

    Awesome Bass/Sub - The Bar set-up for blu-rays.

If you want bass in your blu-rays, this is the soundbar to buy. Its worth it just to get the 33 lb sub with 10 inch driver. Its the biggest sub for a soundbar setup around. Get it before its discontinued. Crank it to 12 and place it even remotely near a wall, and you'll see what youve been missing. Its like watching movies for the first time all over again. Getting it for 599.99 is criminal. If you dont want to go the full home theatre set-up route, buy this instead. Ill be honest: I did have to contact vizio to find out how to run a firmware re-load and had to run a soft power cycle on a tcl tv before I got it working with manageable quirks. Right out of the box, the bar wasnt reading youtube tv or tv apps on start-up all the time. And, when I used fast forward or rewind or if a new episode on youtubetv or a tv app would start, the sub wouldnt play audio. Now, however, the only problem it really has is reading youtubetv/tv apps on start-up after i turn the tv off after watching a bluray through hdmi. If you go back to the tv home screen after the movie that can help. I guess the point im making is, it wont be for everyone. Im not going to lie and say i didnt have to work through problems. Its not perfect, but I have it close enough. And I wouldnt trade the bass for anything. I dont even use the satelites and the immersion from the awesome bass qnd the nice stereo soundstage from the 46-inch bar is as good as it gets for a soundbar set-up.

I upgraded from an older visio soundbar and like the quality of the new one. If your TV doesn't support eArc - like mine. The is a good alternative to ones that only have 1 hdmi port. I can imagine it can fill a reasonably sized room very well, and those with apartments will appreciate the clarity. My room may be bigger than most and can find it difficult to fill the room without turning it up, to a level that distorts. Pop and edm music do okay, however rock really suffers, from the lack of properly sized midrange speakers. A tip to visio, id buy a set of bookshelf speakers to compliment the setup, if available

The sound that is able to be produced from this unit is pretty amazing. Set up was relatively straight forward. I did run across an issue be where it completely bombed out and had to reach out to Vizio for support. Ended up having to factory reset it to get it to work again. Also, it's great that I'm able to configure the EQ and other features with the Vizio app instead of using the remote and light up dots on the sound bar. Bass is definitely heavy and I love it! I'm sure I'll be more impressed when I put this in a smaller room with a flat ceiling instead of a pitched one. I'd buy this again if I had to.

By far, the best soundbar/sound system I've ever owned. I was skeptical as Dolby Atmos has been so expensive, but this far exceeded my expectations. My room is completely filled with sound - left, right, up, down, everywhere! And the bass shakes the entire house. It really transformers the viewing experience, especially when watching movies. Pros: Dolby Atmos, big bass, easy setup, great price Cons: None, this soundbar is amazing.

This setup sounded great it took awhile to get the sound bar working. Then i had trouble trying to get my Directv remote to work on changing the volume, gave up for the night, got up the next day, and nothing. Mess with trying to get the sound bar to work with the factory remote, no luck, it would just adjust ftom 5 to 6 on volume then would jump up to 20 by itself. Called tech suport after an hour with them, they are sending a new one. I will review again when that gets set up. I'm a little worried that the volume may not work with my genie remote.

    - Easy setup and wall mounting for surround speakers - Dolby Atmos seriously sounds incredible! The amount of detail and immersion with these has changed the experience watching movies and playing video games. - Looks are decent, although I wish the soundbar were a bit smaller/more understated. I wouldn't exchange that for any loss in sound quality tho.

My tv is in a great room, and wires for surround would not be easy, so I wanted a soundbar. I was previously using a Yamaha YSP-800, which was top of the line many years ago, but I was having trouble with dialog, and the simulated surround did not cut it compared to having rear satellites. I have been impressed by Vizio’s upper end TV’s, and I have a P series from 2017, so I was waiting for this to come down in price during the holidays. The sound is great, the 46” width gives great left to right separation, that narrower bars can’t. The surround rears are on either side of my couch on stands, slightly behind me and they sound amazing. Atmos content is even better, but regular surround is still a huge improvement due to actual rear speakers. I have not had any issues, I am using ARC, and have my TV acting as a hub for each input. My family is very impressed, we are all enjoying movies and tv more, and this is an incredible buy when you can’t do the traditional surround set up with a receiver and multiple speakers.

It was between this one and the nakamichi, but vizio was always my first choice. This review is for the second unit because the first was very defective. When I went to bestbuy to get it repaired, they decided to give me a replacement and after 4 months I could not be happier. The sound is clear and all the speakers work perfectly and no sync issues or audio delays. Some people say that the 10 inch subwoofer can get way too loud and i admit that it is true, the bass level can be adjusted and all you have to do is just find the right place for the subwoofer. To me, the soundboard is perfect and it makes watching a movie feel like being inside an imax theater, in a way. One other thing is that the only way to adjust the height speaker volume is through the smartcast app which kind of sucks. I wish we could do that with the remote instead. My original first purchase date was November 2019.

I didn’t know what to expect from a Vizio but the reviews online all said this was a good system so I took the plunge. I will say I am upgrading from a 2.1 system so it’s a huge upgrade. First, the center channel makes a huge difference in being able to understand dialogue. The satellite speakers work incredibly well and are in sync completely. Surround sound is truly transformative. The subwoofer is huge and amazing right out of the box. Incredibly immersive and not boomy. As for the upfiring drivers, I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to be listening for. No I don’t feel like sounds are coming from above, but the Atmos tracks sound significantly better so somehow it is making a difference. Overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

I was looking forward to this purchase after hearing nothing but great things about this particular Soundbar. I was given a preview of the sound at my local Best-Buy and it was one of the best soundbars I had ever heard! It was loud, lots of bass, and crisp dialogue. I quickly made the purchase and was ready for this new home theater experience. The set-up was easy and took less than 10 minutes to sync everything up. Immediately after starting to play a Dolby Atmos movie, there was some crackling in the rear speakers. I figured maybe it was trying to adjust or maybe the wires weren’t fully connected. Turns out that wasn’t the problem and the crackling never went away. Eventually, there were problems with the syncing of the subwoofer and it kept going in and out as if it was turning off and on every 5 seconds. This became pretty annoying very quickly. I called Vizio Customer Service and they tried to help me as much as they could but just ended up telling me that my TV was the problem. I definitely didn’t think it was my TV because it was Dolby Atmos capable and a brand new 6-series Roku TV. I soon read that this very same problem had occurred with many different people. I returned the soundbar and I am hoping that it was just a defected system but I may do some more research and be extra careful with my next soundbar purchase.

Most soundbar systems on the market are worthless. With this one, I've finally found one that has VERY GOOD BASS without having to have the volume crazy high and without it costing an arm and a leg. The sound is great, easy to set up and I've been very pleased with this purchase. I almost never give a 5 star on anything but the sound and bass quality deserves it. Only downside is the remote it comes with is useless so I manage the system with the app. Wish the app had more ways to adjust/customize the sound. I do not use a Voice Assistant with this. Way too creepy having things listening. This system is Recommended!

This Vizio 5.1.4 soundbar system exceeded my expectations with its deep bass and clarity from the bar and rear speakers. Dolby atmos effect was decent and the subwoofer was impressive. Had to return this item because the lip sync audio issue was terrible; I am using an LG OLED C9 and there was no way to fix it while the system would randomly cut off audio and make the syncing issue even worse. Maybe the systems work better if connecting to a Vizio TV but for me it was bad enough not to keep with its great sound for the price.
