This vizio soundbar is fantastic ! I have owned several soundbars thru out the years & this one is the best of all of them ! Sound quality is excellent, setup was simple & fast. I bought a set of speaker stands for the rear speakers from bestbuy ( $ 44.00 ) dollars. The remote is great,it is back-lit & you can customize the sound from the remote. The subwoofer is very powerful for only being 5 inches . This soundbar is plug & play . I highly recommend this soundbar, do not let the negative reviews discourage you from buying this soundbar ! Absolutely bang for buck ! This soundbar is kinda hard to find, alot of bestbuy stores are sold out, so that should tell you something !!

This soundbar surround package is on par with the more expensive brand ones. It comes with functional dolby atmos and the back speakers work very well! Love that the remote comes with a mini LED screen display telling you what setting you're changing, along with the speaker verbally confirming what input you are on. For the price, this is probably one of the best bang for your buck systems on the market offering dolby atmos and rear kicker speakers. The bass also does not lag far behind more expensive brands on the market.

I bought a Samsung 85” TV and I knew I would have to get a sound system to match the size but was ready to take on a big price tag. I stumbled across the reviews for this Vizio which were stellar. I have never owned a Vizio product, but had never heard anything bad. So I took the chance and the sound is what I was looking for. It’s a surround so you get sounds from all around including the bar in front. The subwoofer is powerful enough. This isn’t deafening loud but it’s quite loud. I have a large living room and it fills it nicely. The packaging was Non-Existent!! It was shipped in the actual Vizio product box with zero wrapping/ protection or boxed. I thought this was poor practice from a company like Best Buy. The box looked in rough shape and it made me question if the product could have been damaged during shipping, It’s been about 6 weeks of normal use and so far so good. I am certain you can get a bigger better sound from a more expensive product but at the price point it is really good across the board without breaking your bank.

    m51ax-j6 vs m512a-h6

I am very impressed with the sound quality of the j6. Coming from a Yamaha 5.1 receiver with a nice set of Klipsch speakers and sub. The dialog and surround speaker performance on the j6 is much better. I am not sure how, but the lil 5" sub puts out as much bass as the 8" composite Klipsch. I had the unique opportunity to test the m51ax-j6 (5.1) side by side with the m512a-h6 (5.1.2). Using with Sling, and various streams in 5.1 audio, the j6 has cleaner audio, the h6 has a very slight bit more bass. Using with atmos, the j6 fell a little flat compared to the h6 having the up firing drivers. Until, I updated the firmware on the j6 for a more fair test. After that, atmos performance was virtually identical. In my opinion after you update firmware, the j6 wins on all fronts and is the one that I kept. Hope this helps.

I already own the first Vizio 614 Dolby Atmos Model # SB46514-F6 bar with a 10 inch Subwoofer that they came out with a couple of years ago. This 5.1 M series has a much smaller Sub Woofer and smaller surround speakers but it is pretty impressive for what it costs. The bass is pretty strong considering how small the Subwoofer is. Its audio output isn't as strong as the Model # SB46514-F6, but is more than adequate for any normal size room. It has all the audio adjustments via the remote that the SB46514-F6 has. The Sub is wireless and can be placed anywhere within 20 feet. The surround speakers are driven from the Sub through speaker wires. The wires are quite long so it gives you a lot of latitude regarding placement and I don't see why they couldn't be spliced and extended if you needed to run them through a basement or walls. After using them I feel confident recommending them as a good budget set of Dolby Atmos capable 5.1 soundbar speakers.

Set up was fairly easy. I have Blu Ray input to HDMI on the soundbar and HDMI eARC to the television. Very happy with the sound. I left it flat, bumped up the dialogue a bit. Tried a variety of sources and sound was great on all of them. ("Midway" on AMC via Sling; "Book of Boba Fett" via Disney+; and "Star Trek: Into Darkness" on Blu Ray.) I forgot how nice and room-filling surround sound is. Set up was simple; no connection issues. Remote is fine; I do like the display, but you still have to look at the soundbar to see the level. I just set it and leave it. The soundbar connected to my GE universal remote without any setup, most likely because this was replacing a previous Vizio 2.1 soundbar. All in all, I am very pleased. I noticed that this bar give out more bass from the front speakers than the 2.1 older bar. All in all, it's a nice theater-type sound that really enhances our TV experience. I have not experienced any of the Atmos effects of this bar yet.

Awesome sound experience while listening to Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual X content. Perfect for a small-medium bedroom or study. Haven't had a single issue with the soundbar since I bought it and at $230 for an excellent condition open-box, it's a steal.

I was looking for a replacement for my 10 year old Sony soundbar and wanted to move from 2.1 to 5.1 Atmos technology. Almond st settled on Polk when I found this model. For home theatre this unit is stellar. Streaming media through the Amazon FireTV cube is crisp and clean, with just the right amount of bass punch. As a home audio replacement, audiophiles will want to look elsewhere. While adequate for average daily listening of streaming media, sounds are a bit washed with no way to really tweak them to the level of my Bose acoustimass. Remote is comprehensive if not a tad bit confusing. Overall though a great buy for 40 % less than the competition. 4 out of 5 stars.

This sound bar was very easy to set up and has a very clean sound in my opinion. Although labeled with Atmos, it really doesn’t offer the immersion one would expect from true Dolby Atmos. This can also get very loud in our small bedroom. I didn’t test the max volume as I never saw a new to go past halfway. Being a budget sound bar, this doesn’t offer too many customization or any room calibration options. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend for anyone looking for an upgrade over tv speakers.

This has great overall sound. Unlike my previous Samsung HW-Q65t, I can actually hear the bass from across the room. And surround speakers are great. For the cost of the unit, couldnt have asked for better. Yes, you will have to adjust some settings to get the sound you want, but its very easy to use and i actually like the remote. It has recently stopped outputting sound, all i did was unplug everything and plug it all back in and works like normal now. Will update soon to prevent further possible issues.

I love this soundbar. I picked it up as an open box at $177, which was an amazing deal, but locally I see that another store has another open box in stock for $205. The sound is great for the money. It’s not perfect by any means, but if you’re looking for something with enough bass and sound, this is a good soundbar to get. The soundbar has both an HDMI-eARC out port and an HDMI-in port. This is really important for me, as many soundbars I’ve tried have had issues with syncing the sound properly to the image on the TV, and the HDMI-in port alleviates this issue. The soundbar does have a few firmware issues, namely with voice assistant connections and audio loudness: early on as I was getting acclimated to the soundbar, I noticed the sound would be too quiet despite the volume being towards the higher end. This occurred mainly with voice assistant connections, but also would occasionally happen with HDMI-in sounds. I had to hard reset the soundbar a couple times to get it finally working properly. Also, I got a purple/pink tint on my HDMI-in video output one time, but after turning my HDMI-in device on and off the tint went away, so presumably it was just a one-time issue. Overall though, I am quite satisfied with the soundbar, and after trying out 5 different soundbars with different features, this is the one I am going to be keeping.

Overall good, replacing a similar model I purchased in 2017, but new 4K TV needed an 'atmos' soundbar. Keep in mind if you want lossless dolby atmos, you will need a device like an nvidia shield, my built-in Roku OS will not stream atmos uncompressed. My previous model had wifi, I wish this one did, makes me a bit nervous I can never update the firmware on it. It was also about $80 more than I paid for my previous model, which was identical with the wireless setup, just did not have atmost or DTS-HD.

Bought this system to supplement my new 75 inch Samsung tv. While it may be a budget to mid tier sound bar I think it sounds fantastic for the price. It definitely gets loud and makes for a great tv watching experience. My only complaint would be that the subwoofer seems a bit underpowered, other than that I think this soundbars is a great value at the price and far better than watching TV with built in tv speakers.

Glad I finally made a decision. I wanted better sound than I was getting from my Insignia soundbar , but didn’t want to spend too much money to make that happen. For what you get, the price point of this Vizio sounbar is a great value. I feel that it sounds really good. I can hear vocals better and the bass is good too, considering the subwoofer is small. I definitely recommend the M-series soundbar for somone that desires upgraded sound from your TV without spending $500 or more to make that happen.

I bought this to go along with my new 75” Hisense U8K after looking up some professional reviews about it and one of the reviewers I trust recommended it especially for the price. Im not an audiophile, but i know what sounds good and what doesnt. I replaced my stand alone Bose soundbar with this and this out performs my Bose easily. I should note my Bose is more of an entry level for Bose. But i paid the same for this as i did my Bose. I was amazed how good the bass is on this unit. It isn’t spectacular, but for what it is it’s solid. And for how small my little home theater is, it’s definitely enough (approx 10x 16 with low ceiling). I cant comment on how well the Dolby Atmos performs yet since I’ve never used it before but i onow my new TV supports it. Regardless, if you’re on a budget and want a good sounding surround system, this is it! I’m glad I went with it because i was definitely looking at more expensive units from Polk and Bose, so I saved a few bucks and I’m not disappointed one bit. I would gove this 4 stars because I haven’t noticed the Dolby Atmos effect, but like i said, I’m new to it so I may be doing something wrong but i did notice that this doesn’t have up firing drivers which seems to be common on most Atmos bars from what I’ve read. Regardless, for the price, this is definitely solid. I honestly dont think you’ll find anything better for the price or even $100- $150 more.

I bought this as an open box- excellent condition item. Upon opening this item, I noticed I did not have an optical cable like the booklet said should be included. Instead, was a cord I could not even begin to tell you what it’s used for(clearly not supposed to be included). Hook up was very simple and tuning was pretty easy. However, after about 2 weeks, the sound bar acted up. I turned it on and no sound was coming out. I tried turning the sound bar off, and it was not doing anything. I tried to change volume, again it was not responding. So I had to unplug the power cord for a few seconds and re connect to get it to work. Everything was working fine. On week 3 of owning it, and it did the same unresponsive action. So I again, unplug and then reconnected the power. It still had no sound and froze up. So I did this again and it finally worked. For someone who wants a little of the boom and the feel of surround, this is not a bad unit. My only bad review on this sound bar is the fact it’s acted up and that I had to go buy my own cable because it was not in the box like it was supposed to be.

This soundbar makes movies amazing and music sounds awesome with it. Nice clear dialogue from the sound bar and the subwoofer is really nice. This is about the best 5.1 surround system you're going to find for the price. When I put on Jurassic Park it sounds like it did when I first saw it in the movie theaters with the THX system. Plenty loud and thunderous Bass. I like the adjustability of the unit as well.

i got this because i kept gettibg ads about it on youtube and decided to give ut a try. I wasn’t disappointed at all. i was told the sub would be strong but i DID NOT expect it to be STRONG. The soundbar itself and the surround speakers are great as well i love all the adjustable settings. I like that it also doesnt reallt take up and hdmi slot since theres a hdmi in slot in the soundbar so you could connect something in there. it also still works with hdmi e arc if u do connect the hdmi in slot on my tv it automatically switches between the settings by itself (dont know if i explained that well, sorry).

Solid sound throughout the room with this system. Live in a smaller apartment so it fills the room nicely. Deep bass and great rear sound fires in all directions. Having Dolby Atmos and Surround is very nice touch. Very easy to set up. One HDMI cable from the TV to the front bar was very nice.
