I have this sound system paired with a 50 inch vizio TV and it is a great match. The wireless sub works great. The only thing I do not like is that I am not able to use the vizio tv remote to power on and off the sound system.

Just purchased a Vizio 70 inch TV for Christmas, and tried to hook it up to an older Sony 5.1 system that had no HDMI cable for input. My room is about 20x17, so not overly huge, but not small by any means. The Sony system was way underpowered (I had to max out the Sony amp to hear it). So, I thought I'd read some reviews on options and after that, decided to try this system. First, please don't expect this to be the most wonderful, cinematic system in the world. It's not. I've got another area in my house where i do have something like that, powered by high-end Polk's and a hi-current Amp. That system can rock the house. This one, not so much. Please don't misunderstand though, that's not why I purchased this. I purchased this because it is in our main room that we watch family TV, and I needed a system that would project and provide a nice overall sound. Let's start with the hook up out of the box. Now, I've hooked up a lot of systems, but this was SO easy it wasn't even funny. Yes, it's Vizio, the same as the TV, so I expected it to be compatible, and sure enough it was. The wireless sub and surrounds connected immediately when power was supplied. Setup was a breeze and adjustments (e.g., turning surround volumes up/down, setting up bluetooth, etc.) were very simple. It took no longer than 30 minutes by the time I cracked the box to the time I resealed the box with all components in place (including mounted on my rear surround speaker stands). My biggest surprise was the power this can put out. Way more than I expected, which means my room can be filled with sound (which my old Sony system could not do). Perfect for my new TV. I have a number of TV's in my house. All but one are Vizio's and I've had nothing but great luck with the Brand. I'm sure there are some folks who may have different opinions about Vizio, but in my experience, they provide a nice quality product at a nice fair price. My 42" Plasma, which I purchased back when Plasma's first came out, is still going strong and still has a fabulous picture. So, I would encourage folks to try this sound bar. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at the sound quality it produces.

I started with a Denon 1300W receiver with 5.1 setup. Looking at the reviews on other website, I decided to visit my local BestBuy to see what was available that had gotten good reviews on other sites. When I went to the store, there was a Samsung soundbar that was an Open Box special that sounded pretty awesome in the store...however, was terrible when I got home. I have a Samsung TV, so the universal remote option was a great upsell as well. However, the terrible sound quality made me feel like I traded HD sound for 1980's sound from a CRT...in other words a MAJOR downgrade that cost me over $600. I looked at reviews for this soundbar and it was the only one I could find that was 5.1 that was less than $1000, so figured I would take a listen in the store. In the store, I wasn't all that impressed to be honest...but it had the rear speakers so at least I would get surround sound again without all the wires...or so I thought. When I got home, I unpacked the speakers and then positioned them how I thought it would work best without mounting the rear speakers just to test it out. I was truly AMAZED at the sound this system produced. This system really felt comparable to my old component setup if not an upgrade. Adding in the lack of wires for the most part and this was a slam dunk! Some of the online reviews complained about the popping from the rear speakers, and I can agree that it is there...but lowering the subwoofer setting resolved that. Some of noted that the volume control isn't near as sensitive as it could be...yes, that is a fact and nothing to be done about it until Vizio wants to release a new remote or change the receiver for the incremental volume adjustment.

I love this system! It's really easy to set up and integrates with my other home theatre components perfectly for great sound and a great experience.

We bought one sound bar and ended up having to bring it back because it wasn't that great at all. Did some research and it led me to this Vizo one. Bought it online, picked it up the same day in the store and went home to hook it up. Was beyond impressed! The sound was beyond amazing! Even bluetoothing my phone to it was extremely easy! We have a huge 75+" tv and we are extremely pleased with this purchase! Highly recommend this product!!!!!!!

While I rated this a Four Star I am not dissatisfied. The sound bar performs well, has clean highs and voices and great lows. The speakers are all adjustable for sounds level, delay, balance and tone. It is capable of very high volume and retains clarity even at high levels. My biggest issue is the volume adjustments. The lowest volume of 1 is very low...as it should be. However the jump to 2 and again to 3 is too much. I would prefer the incres from 1 to to and 2 to 3 to be smaller. Overall I am happy and would recommend.

After much review of lots of sound bars, I decided to try out this Vizio 5.1 system. Reviews stated it was great for movies, which is the primary use for me. After testing it in the store, as well as a few other sound bars, I believed I had found what I wanted. This system replaced a Sony HTIB I purchased about 12 years ago. It is still in great shape, but with this Vizio sound bar system, I now hear what I have been missing. The reviews were absolutely correct that this sounds AMAZING!! At home, setup was a breeze. There are very few cables, and the instructions were clear. When you add in the wireless subwoofer and surround sound speakers so you have true surround sound, this setup is very similar to what I had with the Sony, but things sound so much better now. My living room also looks better as there is less clutter, including no need for a receiver. This Vizio 5.1 sound bar system has accomplished what I was looking to do: have amazing sound while simplifying the look of the room. I cannot wait to show this off to friends.

I have done a lot of shopping around and research on whether to buy a sound bar or surround sound system. I was almost going to buy a Sony home theater system, but when I heard this Vizio sound bar in the store it sounded so much better. I have had this sound bar for 3 weeks now and I love it! It works perfectly with my phone via Bluetooth and I am able to stream music all day. It's loud enough to reach my kitchen from the living room. The subwoofer provides smooth & crisp bass. My sister has a Bose sound system and this Vizio sounds better in my opinion. I have it hooked to my Vizio television via optical cable and it works with my TV remote even though it comes with its own remote. This system also features a night sound option so that in the evening it will reduce the bass level. The one and only complaint I have is that the volume interval is a bit off. For example, sometimes when I want to turn it down just a little, it goes too low. However, I have found with the night mode on and adjusting the speakers I can get it to the volume level I need. The price on this product is great. It is a very popular item because when I went to purchase it, there was only one available among about 3 Best Buys in my local area. I highly recommend this sound bar. It is the only one I know of that is affordable and comes with wireless surround sound. It is sleek and not too bulky. Easy to set up. You won't be disappointed.

i purchased the 5.1 surround sound because of the bluetooth capability and in the store the sound was good. once i got it home my bluetooth did now work, so i took it back and exchanged it. no problems since, and i have had the system for over 4 months now.. bluetooth works good, not great. just a slight bit of static. now regular sound, ie movies, or anything hard wired, sounds fantastic. really clear and plenty loud to fill my large tall ceiling living room and surrounding rooms. i would definitely recommend for anyone even with the hiccups the first system had. hope this helps someone.

I just purchased the the Samsung Curve TV and was considering purchasing the Samsung Curve sound bar as well...until the sales person advised me to try the Vizio 5.1. With the 2 additional satellite speakers it gives you the complete surround sound effect. The reason I gave it a 4.0 is because I have to reset it every now and then to get the woofer back synced with the bar. It could be just a defect but it come with a yr warranty.

I picked up this sound bar a few months after purchasing a new tv. I couldn't stand how poor the TV speakers were so I researched and researched until I came across this soundbar. Let me tell you, it was a perfect buy! I did have issues with the first unit I purchased, but Best Buy let me exchange it no questions asked! The second unit was flawless! a HUGE upgrade over the standard TV speakers. You get great sound and 5.1 quality without having to deal with receivers and spending loads of money for quality sound. And wow does it really show off on movies! I may end up purchasing another one for my downstairs TV!

This system took me a while to figure out how to work. Because the startup guide did not tell me how to turn on the subwoofer. But after almost buckling and having someone come and install it, I did a youtube search and figured out the menu button has different functions with the up down arrows. So before setting up the sub-woofer and satellite speakers, 3 stars for just the sound bar but with the extra speakers and sub-woofer 6 stars cannot believe this was only 200 plus tax well worth it and i would buy this again in a heartbeat. Plus add on geek squad replacement for 4 years and you are set to enjoy a sound system for a long while. Pros: - Sound - Set up of speakers - Quality - optical audio through everything Cons - quick start guide did not give all functions of controller (I.E. turning subwoofer on) Recommendation: If you pick up in a car make sure your car is big enough. Had to lay the front seat back spanned all the way to the top of back seat laying down very long sound bar.

VIZIO - 5.1 Channel Soundbar System with Bluetooth and 6" Wireless Subwoofer was well packaged, installation instructions easy to read. A novice can install this without any difficulty. Great product, first time having a sound system. WOW !!!! 5.1

I have told every person I know about the awesome sound bar and how you don't have to run all the wires everywhere. The way I have mine setup I run the sub behind my couch with the wires for the two small speakers. It was really easy to set up took me longer to rip the box open. Can't say enough about how great this product is.

The highs and mids are very flat. The center channel has almost a muffled, reverb sound to it. I am no audiophile by any means, but I tend to relate it to sounding like the speakers are at the back of large cardboard box. It's kind of hard to explain, but just know the sound quality of the mids and highs is not where it should be for this price range. The subwoofer works quite well and will rumble the room. The bass is full and doesn't distort or boom at higher volumes. The rear satellite speakers are rather quiet, but they do sound decent. The good thing is you can adjust the volume levels of center, surround and subwoofer so you can adjust as you see fit. Overall this isn't a bad buy if you are weighting heavily the need for a strong subwoofer and satellite speakers. However, for myself, the soundbar is severely lacking in quality and is not worth the price. I believe the 2.1 systems is only marginally less expensive than the 5.1 and I certainly wouldn't pay that price for the soundbar. I will be returning this and going with something different.

I reviewed almost every single sound bar available before purchasing the Vizio 5.1 s4251w-b4. I have owned 2-3 5.1 surround sound setups in the past, and this vizio sounds just as good if not better than some of my setups that I have previously used. I am no audiophile but I do appreciate a good sounding system. I use my sound bar primarily with the PS4 and the bass is absolutely great when playing games like Battlefield 4 and Killzone. I was a little concerned about the quality of the rear speakers that make this sound bar 5.1, but they sound fantastic. As i stated before I have used many 5.1 surround sound setups before, and the rear speakers for this sound bar sound great, and I notice them more than I did with my previous setups. I mounted this sound bar underneath my TV using the Rocketfish Sound Bar Mount, this was easily the hardest part of the installation, as the sound bar is heavier than it seemed at first. I ended up using half of the mounting system to mount it under my tv and it appears flush underneath my tv. My only disappointments with this sound bar system is the lack of a display on the sound bar itself. It does have lights that correspond to the button presses of the remote and it will say digital on the sound bar when it is receiving a digital signal, but I would have liked to have a fully functional display on the soundbar. The other is more of a problem with Vizio than the actual sound bar. They were supposed to release a 54" model of this sound bar this last year, but it has not yet been released. My tv is a 60" Sony KDL-60R550A and it is not as wide as the tv. It leaves about 4 inches on both sides of my tv. I wish there was a 54" model available to closer match the width of my tv. This sound bar is so good, that my father-in-law came over the day after I installed it and went and purchased the same model the next day. Overall I am thrilled with this product, and it is an outstanding sound bar for the price that you pay. One other thing to mention, is that Vizio included every single cable and mount that you will need to get this sound bar connected. Never have I purchased a piece of home theater equipment that came with every single thing you need. Vizio gets an A+ for this.

I paired the Vizio 5.1 sound bar with a 50" Vizio TV to upgrade the TV sound and to provide a Bluetooth speaker option for listening to music. The TV audio is much improved and to my surprise it produces incredible sound quality and clarity for music. The details pop and the bass is crisp. It looks great in the room and the controls are easy to understand and use.

These are a good solution for getting an easy 5.1 system in to a smaller room. The wireless subwoofer with attached rear speakers makes for a clean look. It sounds good and is easy to set up. The biggest draw back is that the included cables (except for the rear speaker cables) are too short for a wall mounted system. I had to use the power cable from cable box to be able to mount the sound bar on the wall under my TV and purchase an optical cable and digital audio cox cable because included ones were to short to feed through the wall and up to the unit. The unit should really have an HDMI input for those who want to use a sound bar with their TV's HDMI ARC output.- especially since it only has two inputs, so if you have Roku box etc. PLUS a game system/DVD player you can only have one one of them hooked up at a time. I'd have also liked to see a headphone port. Overall I am pleased with the purchase despite having to buy new cables.
