Had Issues, But Figured a Fix

Okay this is a bit of a loaded review. When the soundbar works, it's perfect. I bought my unit from my local Best Buy and for a while it was great with surround sound audio. But after a year or so the rear channels would cut out for any sort of loud rear audio in game or movie. Requiring a full power cycle to get back temporarily. This was incredibly frustrating to deal with. After several days of back and forth with VIZIO to get this worked on, I found that the audio cables for the rear channels are not that great and were failing causing my issue. They still sent me a new replacement unit for my troubles. But I managed to fix my issue on my seemingly defective unit before getting a replacement. But for those who are struggling with audio cutting out try: -Upgrading to the latest firmware (It's simple to do, the current as of writing is 2.0.3.0) -Replacing the RCA cables that come with the unit with some bog standard Red/White RCA cables. The factory cables might not be quality enough to power the rear satellites correctly. As of now it's been perfect. I like the audio quality for such an entry level surround sound experience, the bass can be punchy, and various EQ settings to faux surround (with 2.1 content) is great for filling the room. To wrap up, buyer beware with a lot of VIZIO products. Their subwoofers and TVs are prone to some failures, but luckily a common issue with this soundbar in particular I discovered seems to have a relatively very inexpensive fix.

Love the sound it produces. I didn't realized how easy this is to set up. (the proper HDMI out on the TV is needed. Most new models have it.) The remote is great for switching between EQ levels. My PS/5 and Switch sound awesome!

The vizio sound bar is great for its sound and quality. Easy hookup and sounds nicely. The rear speakers although not wireless sounds great when played through hooking up to the rear sub woofer. Overall pleased with this system that sounds just as good as more expensive ones. To be able to get a 5.1 system for under $200 is a great bargin. You can adjust the various sound settings to get the desired sound you desire.

A game changer in home theatre sound!

we have always had a super high end klipsch home theatre system doing the audio work in our living room for the last 18 years but recently my wife said she wanted something smaller and less noticeable now that we are remodeling. I started researching home theatre systems and came across this vizio setup. When i saw the price i was a bit turned off, coming from my 7000.00 dollar system, thinking there is no way this can sound decent compared to what we are used to. It had the speaker arrangement i was looking for and was a fraction of the size of our current system. I bought the vizio setup and figured i could return it if it sounded terrible. I was absolutely blown away by the sound quality of this v-series 5.1 package. It sounds like a setup costing thousands more. Back when I bought the klipsch home theatre package there really wasn't a middle market. You either bought garbage or spent a fortune on a really high end setup like we got. Its juts not that way anymore. You can get an amazing home theatre sound system for a fraction of the price nowadays. The setup was pretty simple, it has tons of features helping you dial in the perfect blend of front, rear and sub levels and the dialogue sounds beautiful. Again i just couldn't believe the fullness and richness of the sound in a setup only costing 250 dollars! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for great sound in a much smaller, much more affordable setup!

I was looking to boost the sound of my tv. The speakers on the tv weren’t enough. So far the Vizio has delivered. It’s what I expected. Good sound at a good price. Easy set up with minimal adjustments. All of our speakers are in the front. My wife asked me to turn down the volume of the subwoofer, lol. We’re acclimating nicely to the enhanced sound.

The V-Series delivers a robust 5.1-channel surround sound experience, enhanced by Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual:X technologies. This setup creates an expansive soundstage, making movies and music more immersive. The wireless subwoofer adds depth with its punchy bass, elevating action scenes and musical performances.

It's a solid unit for the price. There are not a lot of options for connections, but the Bluetooth is a plus. Base adequate for most normal home watching, but if you're a big movie buff that likes the best experience, get a bigger unit with more base.

This sounds amazing! I'm a musician and I've always been sceptical of the " Home Theater in a Box" systems. "The subwoofer is small, but it punches! Easy setup, and integrates well with whatever brand of TV you have. You won't be dissapointed with this purchase!

I haven't had a soundbar on my TV before. I find the sound and the quality very good. The setup was relatively simple. The remote is very good and allows the user to change any parameters on the system. it takes a little time to learn, but it is definitely worth the time invested, which isn't much.

A really nice little soundbar that puts out great sound at a great pri e. The overall quality is quite high, it is very easy to put together and connect things to. The subwoofer puts out decent bass (about what you would expect for this price range). Understand, this is not a high-end box. It is great for an average sized living room but probably wouldn't work in a large-size home theater room. Great for that first surround sound, or even a second.

Great for what it is... Okay so I compared this in my living room with the LG 3.1 and this was surprisingly better, but still had it's flaws. The surround sound is fun. Lots of gaming and movies sound great with it. The sub woofer packs a great little punch, but unfortunately won't stop. Even with the sub turned all the way down, there's always a little rumbling happening. So you can get burned out pretty fast of your just trying to watch the news or something. Infact, we only use it for movies and daytime/weekend use. We live in an apartment and it can get over bearing. The Dolby sounds are great and very clear. I would love a little more options and maybe a screen instead of the little lights. Oh and the talking information is disturbing! If you long press the center button for information or hit the gaming/movie button, a creepy male voice says "mmmovie" or "Dolby audio Dolby digital" haha! It's weird. Another thing that sucks, for me specifically, is the remote is the exact same frequency as my lighting behind my screen! So the LCD light behind my TV turn on, off, change color with every button I push, volume up/down, ect... It's bad luck for me since I'm keeping it.

This sound bar out-performs any other soundbars in the sub $300 AND it includes rear speakers for Dolby Digital and DTS surround. Sound quality, hookup, and remote are excellent. Only thing stopping it from a 5-star rating is an annoying random "pop" from the rear speakers when they are turned on, but no sound is being transmitted. This does not interfere with audio quality, but is an annoyance. Vizio is aware of the issue and are working to fix.

The best soundbar for the price. I was thinking about getting a samsung soundbar that my dad has but when i saw the amount of items and price for this i was thinking it could be a steal. When i tested it out, DAM it sounds very similar to a $700 soundbar from other competitors. The bass is DEEP and the clarity is pretty good and i would recommend listening to music in either the movie EQ mode because of the surrounding. But overall the best soundbar at its price, i would recommend for people that are on a budget but also getting their moneys worth.

I have been in home theater and television for 22 years. This is the best budget surround sound system. It is clear, has low end and it's adjustable. Three things only higher end systems have. Premium finish. The best feature is how compact it is. Only systems that are this appealing go for 3 to 4 times more. 4 star on quality for materials used though used very well is still plastic.
